What is Junk Digital Content (JDC) ?
Generally speaking junk digital content is like junk food.
It is unhealthy for our Mind and very often JDC triggers PMO (Look how many people relapse PMO after watching Instagram or Youtube).
Stop consuming this junk and experience the pure, calm and productive Mind.
If you are used to watch JDC as a relax, entertainment or just “to spend time on the road” routine you enforce this negative habit and at some point it will become compulsive viewing. Ask yourself if JDC helps you to attain your goals ? Does it make you a better person ? Realize, that JDC is low quality, irrelevant for your goals, addictive content that only pollutes your Mind and wastes your time.
The main JDC - instagram, facebook,tiktok, dating sites, YouTube (not useful videos), Netflix, news sites, games, gambling, sport sites, toxic blogs and other sites or apps depending on your personal viewing habits.
A good test to decide if a particular content is JDC is to answer the following questions:
Do you spend more than 30min a day on this content ?
Is this content the best content to achieve your life goals ?
Will your life quality be better if you stop viewing or put a hard time limit on this content ?
The goal is to quit addictive viewing of JDC .
This challenge will help you to keep your noPMO streak. And of course looking at any kind of porno is absolutely forbidden. Porno is poison.

Install blockers app like blocksite on all your digital devices. They can help you to delay the urge, but don’t rely on them as they often fail to provide the needed protection. Here you can read more about blockers apps.
Define a list of JDC for you in the blocker app, you can also share your list in this topic. It can be total categories like “Social”, “News” and specific websites.
Protect yourself from relapse.
a) Set a strong password on your blocker that you can not remember. It will delay the urge and give you time to run away. It is not a full proof protection.
b) Guard your senses. When you recognize desire to watch JDC, go away from screens, let this desire go away. Do the same when you see or hear incentives to watch JDC. For example, when you see ads, suggested video or friends sending your links. RUN AWAY or engage into alternative routine !
c) Create alternative routine. When you are triggered into watching JDC go to your alternative routine. My alternative routine is reading interesting books on kindle. I try to have kindle with me all the time or at least kindle app.
d) Don’t pickup phone or computer before breakfast and 2 hours before you go to sleep. Make these morning and evening hours totally free of digital screens. If you still have some wholesome activity involving digital screens , make sure you write the purpose and set timer. Don’t get carried away with this activity.
- You can look at JDC only if you have a legitimate reason like your work, study or information search etc.
If you decide to open JDC for the legitimate reason, you have to write down a reason and put a timer on your watch. Then enter password into blocker to view JDC. Never go over the time set in the timer.
5. JDC relapse is considered when you watch JDC more than 5 minutes per day OR enter password without a reason OR after timer is up and you continue to watch JDC OR you view any kind of porno for any reason.
I defined 5 minutes per day because this is enough time to come back to your senses and run away or engage into alternative routine.
