Shuji Nakamura did something similar while inventing the blue LED. He worked on a machine to understand it from 7am to 7pm, everyday without taking any holidays.
He kept doing for 1 and a half year.

Do you take a nap in the day after sleeping for only 6 hours at night?
If not you should, or you should sleep more at night, if on average you are sleeping less than 7-8 hours, then you’ll lose presence of mind and if your work demands remembering a lot of things, you’ll not be able to perform well there because your mind won’t be able to retain things. I have personally experienced this, have tried sleeping less and sleeping more both. You’ll thrive when you are getting somewhere around 8 hours of sleep nighttime and day time nap combined.
