[M28] Buddha's journey to liberation

Dear @PrDr,

I understand the situation you live around, but you need to understand that it’s not everywhere. Some people with extreme mindset tend to hurt their ego with different opinions.
But due to someone else opinion, you can’t change your opinion. You should not mind what others saying. Instead you should back your opinion with logic, data and evidence. They will be convinced automatically.

I can understand your concern. But the subject of empathy, which you have raised can be brought by individual effort. As I have already said. हम बदलेंगे युग बदलेगा (Charity begins with home)

I respect your concern. But let’s not get speculative. Instead why not work for betterment. Our action speaks louder than our words.

Maybe you remember Raja Ram Mohan Roy. When he raised social problems erstwhile, more people criticised him than support him. He was well ahead of his time. People could not digest his revolutionary ideas. But he won at last…

About the context,

See लोगों का काम है कहना… I think the family is of extreme views. But it’s not their fault afterall. People tend to sway towards popular notions when they do not have their own opinion. It also happens when they do not think holistically.

You are the one who can evaluate yourself not the others. So just chill and enjoy different opinions :grinning:. Do not be attached too much emotionally.

And yes about reservation, I do not subscribe to that notion. Reservation is just an attempt to level out the historical socio-cultural violation of downtrodden.(lets not delve into those controversial topic)

Brother, Indian culture is not a static culture. It is a dynamic and ever evolving. You do not worry. It has sustained from Indus valley to this time.
Change is the only eternal. We cannot be more conservative but ofcourse some core values need to be paid more attention to.

I am providing link to books by Swami Vivekananda if you like to read.

PS: I forgot about मध्यम मार्ग (middle path) of Buddha. In case of conflicting situation you can try this way. Be balanced. Do not go extreme, be in middle. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your wise insights into the issue @JumpingBuddha . I am going to keep my opinions anyways and others theirs. Perhaps I need to gain more knowledge in order to convince others to see the world through my lens.

Also, what you said about Indian culture is very true, but I was not talking about the dynamic nature of our culture but the distracted youth which does not know anything about our history and is involved deeply in the acts of self destruction. You know , there would be no culture without conscious people.

Thanks for the books. I’ll start reading them as soon as I return home tomorrow.

So it’s been 6 months now. Feeling awesome. Brahmacharya is indeed a way of life. One has to strive everyday and every moment to gain the perfection. Mastery over mind may need a consistent effort.

But it’s also true that more we establish ourself in brahmacharya more effortless it becomes.

It’s great feeling, moreover a liberating experience. I wish everyone should taste this elevating experience.

It’s now or never. Full Stop.

Peace to all.

Hi dear @PaperBoat,

It’s about changing mindset. I have made my mind not to give unwanted attention to bad things, now.
It’s very simple yet complex. If you don’t talk/discuss about bad things, you start thinking about it lesser and lesser.
It’s like, As you think so you become. So I personally talk very less about addiction unless required. I want to make even a single trace of bad thoughts vanish from my mind.
Well why not talk about things which are good and helpful for our lives, instead of ***?

Thank you
And peace out

JumpingBuddha

Ps- It was a really long journey even before I joined this app. I tried many experiment and efforts on my own even before I was aware of any such app. It was on and off journey. But now I am determined as rock. It’s now or never. Full Stop. :grinning:

I have felt just a spark of this, and I know it’s very real. The feeling of extreme strength of your mind can indeed be better than most instantaneous and best sensual pleasures in the world. But I lost my path and it was hard to get back. I’m making the efforts and getting back again. I hope I make it :))

Dear @Nep_12,

Keep going brother. More power to you.
Loosing sight is human nature but more importantly, we have to come back on the path quickly and build back better.

All the very best
