CoffeeMan's Diary

It’s alright bro, as long as you are doing your best. Don’t let anything put you down.

I always listen to this when I feel low.

Finished reading ‘The Rational Male’ by Rollo Tomassi today. One of the take home messages for me was that men hit their ‘sexual market value’ peak at 33-35 whereas it’s 22-24 for women. This gives me all the more reason to build my self worth before I reach my SMV peak. There’s a lot more about inter-gender dynamics and masculinity in that book that I’m not gonna delve into right now. Honestly, it can be a little controversial but I agree with most of what’s in that book.

I’ve bought 4 new books,

  • Your Brain on Porn - Gary Wilson
  • Atomic Habits - James Clear
  • Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert Kiyosaki
  • Deep Work - Cal Newport

Started reading ‘Your Brain on Porn’.

Regarding my fight with PMO. I’m on a 20 day streak but I’m not really worrying about the number of days. Just trying to do better than last time. And like I said, I have to build my self-worth and gather experience and accolades so don’t really have time for PMO :sunglasses:

Great going brother :100: :fire:
BTW regarding the books, I thought you must have read many of them already, but great to know you bought new ones and especially the Atomic Habits

Not these, but I know these are great.
The books I’ve read recently are
‘Never Split the Difference’ - Chriss Voss
‘The Psychology of Money’ - Morgan Housel
‘The Gene’ - Siddhartha Mukherjee (Long ■■■ book )
And a few legal thrillers by William Myers.

Your Journal entry is what prompted me to add that to my cart

I see lot of books you have read that I can’t think of reading yet  I tried to ask my colleagues if they would be interested in reading the atomic habits or do they read any other book, one of them instantly reminded me of my myself, he said nai nai baat hi maat karo main nahi padhta in a funny way  I was like that before.

I haven’t read it much yet, but yeah you will surely going to like it because I am really enjoying it (maybe cause its my first book so a bit more excited). I am glad to hear that you thought to give it a shot as well

As rightly mentioned by CoffeeMan you can read 3 to 4 pages per day, this week I actually was not able to read much, so instead of 6 or 8 pages I ensured I’ll at least read 4 to 5 pages before sleeping. BTW what a coincidence you have the same book bro @anon32080123

I will read it bro,
What to do, “Procastination enters the chat” when I try to do things

Last page I read was the 4 stages of habits

22 days clean. This is the longest I’ve gone without PMO ever since I started my deaddiction journey. However, I’ve substituted it with watching YouTube shorts :person_facepalming:t2:. Feel like living in a forest away from all this digital media.

There’s some renovation work going on in my house so finding it hard to study or workout. Or maybe, I’m just giving excuses. Mom has been quite short-tempered last couple of days. Can’t blame her, she’s juggling between work, home and then there’s this renovation work going on.

I really recommend you to not get addicted to YT shorts. They decrease you attention span and soon you will find it difficult to focus on time consuming activities. If you want to spend time on YouTube, Go for long videos only.

@PaperBoat I know man.:sweat: I won’t watch shorts today. If I feel like entertaining myself, I’ll read a book.

Edit: something is wrong with the reply system. When I reply to someone specific, it doesn’t always address them. That’s why I had to ‘@’ you

@CoffeeMan I forgot to reply yesturday bro.

Like @PaperBoat has mentioned, you-tube shorts has an 90% chance of triggering contents to appear. Yesterday also I came across like 2 or 3 of them. But I closed it immediately and switched tasks.

Yep, there definitely is triggering content. But instead of getting aroused, I get angry at the degeneracy. I straight up hit the ‘Dont recommend this channel’ option or sometimes close the app.

Yep I have noticed this too, I feel like when you reply to last post of thread it doesn’t address them. But if you reply to a post other than last, It addresses the sender. Earlier It was not like that, I think it’s a new update.

Oh, that makes sense. All this time I was thinking that it’s a glitch.

YouTube shorts are for me worse than TikTok. And being addicted to them is really dangerous. Like the others said, you will feel lazy when it comes to good habits and might cause you triggers. I Know I didn’t add any new information but I just wanted to remind you about it so you take it seriously. Cause that’s how I relapsed after my longest streak.

Here’s what each month of the first quarter looked like.

Urges are creeping back in. I need to go out more often. Socialize and engage in recreational activities. That’s the only way I can Rewire.

I’m NO longer an addict. I’m just “sculpting” my brain to function more optimally.
