TRY TRY AGAIN Challenge - Streak.Relapse.Repeat

:warning: THIS POST WILL HELP YOU- Close call yesterday on Day 7 :warning:

Yesterday I almost relapsed. I broke the rule to not watch movies. One thing led to another and I ended up almost searching for P but I didn’t. I said to myself, don’t watch porn but masturbate. This way I won’t feel as guilty as if I watch P. Then I went to toilet but sitting there I thought, if I don’t masturbate, then I’ll be happy. I won’t be depressed afterwards. Why should I choose a few seconds of pleasure just to become depressed, sad and hopeless. I can endure these temporary urges. I won’t relapse. I won’t even masturbate. And it will be okay

Alhamdulillah, I didn’t relapsed.
Then I thought,

I need to upgrade my defence otherwise I will relapse tomorrow. So I made a new rule.

I Won’t browse internet in my room. Only in public, in TV lounge. If I break this rule, then I will be fined 300 Rs to give in charity

Today I broke this rule . I did watched an episode of a show in my room while eating breakfast. After breakfast, I felt the urge to go down the path to relapse but I stopped. I won’t break this rule again. And I owe 300 Rs in charity :joy:.

Lesson: If you have a close call with relapse, upgrade your defence and stick to it. Improvise, Adapt and persevere.

Sorry for posting late.

So far 2 days completed, I am doing good and I am more busy with corporate work and personal work. Moving forward, sometimes it gives me anxiety knowing how much time I have wasted with bad habits.

So u need to limit social media. Avoid its use in private. Replace it with real friends and family Connections.

I don’t avoid social media. What I avoid are the triggers onto it.

I use social media for trying to make videos and watching horror stories in facinated about it.

But tiktok surely places guys n**** instead of girls :skull:, racism, lgbtq hate which I don’t matter don’t worry I am religious that’s why I don’t support it.

Etc. It’s so toxic that sometimes p*** shows up. Gotta try to avoid it. Quora was a problem for me now it’s not.

:sparkles: I survived 6 hours of urges by this strategy called Obstinate Withdrawal :sparkles: If I can, you can too!

  1. When you feel like you have gone too far peeking and are about to relapse, or if you feel that urges are strong and you might relapse, this strategy will save you.
  2. Close your thinking process. Shut off all emotions and thoughts. No more arguments or thinking whether to relapse or not. Only thing allowed is ‘action according to plan’.
  3. Just get up and move away from your usual spot of relapse eg bedroom/ bathroom.
  4. Stay away from that place for 5 or 30 to 60 mins or more, plan what to do in that time to be busy, no Triggers, and you won’t relapse. If you won’t plan then you will follow the plan of your urgs.
  5. You need specific place, time and ‘you’ to relapse. Take away ‘you’ from that place and there can’t be a relapse!
  6. Try it in times of ease so when you need it in times of hardship the strategy works.

I had super strong urges today. I used this strategy and I was able to fight my desires. The fight lasted 6 hours! From 2 pm to 8 pm I felt super strong urges but I didn’t slip even once. I simply went away from my room and sat in TV lounge. I watched Islamic videos while I waited for asr namaz time and went to offer namaz in Masjid. I came back, I had a plan to watch Islamic videos again on yt. I did that and then I offered next Maghrib namaz. I continued this till I offered the last namaz of Isha and by that time I observed all of my urges were gone. I had achieved calm and peace of mind and spirit. Alhamdulillah, I survived 6 hours of urges by this strategy. If I can, you can too!

For better understanding, watch this amazing video below from which I got this strategy :sparkles::point_down:
