The Mini Challenge

@Forerunner, this week has not turned out the way I wanted it to. I couldn’t make much progress in cutting down my sleep. My overall productivity remained low. I did not work at my full potential and as a result I haven’t been able to reach anywhere close to my this week’s goals. I suspect I am going through a flat line but I feel it is just another excuse for a low determination.
Sigh…
This week’s Summary :
Early riser : 6/7
Exercise : 1/2
Planning theday: 5/7
Meditation : 7/7
Let’s hope the coming week turns out to be better.

@Gk-00 @Forodwaith and @Rebooter81
Was thinking of you guys today and lite candles.

I took it easy today - was going to do some work but decided against it, and just ‘chill, leave it for now, there’s no rush’

No exercise

Limited media
About an hour watching YouTube x6 10min-ish hobby related vids.
-not bad, but should always be cautious :+1::pray:

Went to church twice today - very moved and inspired this morning :+1:

On reflection - its been a good week.
The daily exercises and prayers are not only good, but fun, and wonderful to nurture/grow stronger with.

My immediate morning routine
At the moment, before or after my shower/clean I get comfortable and check into Rewire - sounds good, but this new week I want change.
I want media-free, fresh, clean, mornings, and flexibility in to trying different routines.

Wash, clean (cut down water consumption)
clean room/kitchen/work space etcetera
eat high protein/fat breakfast
(I’m tall, thin, wanting to gain weight)
Exercises (core, Tai Chi, back/leg stretches)
Meditate, guitar/piano and sing psalms,
go for a walk, take dogs for a walk,
Learn languages, read good books, go shopping, prepare for evening meal etcetera…
And of course go to Church on available days.

There’s so much I could be doing

I’m back, sorry for being absent this week, I had a tough time really, relapsed every day… I feel like I lost the will to fight again, but I’m here and I want to exit from this pit again!!

@anon67854825 @Forodwaith I saw that you kept on tagging me in your posts, thanks for the support and prayers!

Need to get back to work, let’s make our life better again! :muscle:

Next week I think I’m gonna stick with my daily prayer challenge (i’ve been very far from God this week, feels like I lost a lot of progress and I want to come back close to Him) and occasional physical exercise.

@MrXYZ I’ve felt similar to you this week brother. I know on paper it looks like your week hasn’t been too bad, but you want to accomplish much more. We go again next week. It’s a process. Think how much better we’ll feel six weeks from now when it’s become routine to sleep a happy and energizing amount and wake up at a good hour, keep to an exercise schedule and accomplish our daily tasks. The fact we’re working towards that makes all the difference.

For next week, I’m keeping to the same challenges, but I’m choosing to wake up at 6 AM instead.

@Forerunner, how was your day brother?
I had a productive day today. 11 out out of 24 hours were used productively for studying. I even completed all of my planned tasks. It feels nice after a good days work. Plus I am going to bed at my planned point of time - this means I will be able to cut my sleep down today. That’s all for now. Hope you had a nice day too😊.
PS: My this week’s challenges include being productive and cutting down sleep to optimal length. Meditation - I’ve almost made a habit of doing it and just planning my days makes no sense if I am not productive.

@MrXYZ Glad to hear it, my friend!

Wow, 11 hours - what are you studying for at the moment?

Today was productive for me as well; I got up before 6 AM, completed my morning routine and quite a few tasks. A great start to the week, thank GOD.

Today I relapsed again, but I’m happy with my day, it was a solid day of work. Need to find the strength to fight again and build up a new streak.

Did not do my daily prayer today, let’s do better tomorrow!

@anon67854825 @Forodwaith how is it going?

Hey @Gk-00 @Forodwaith

Today was a good day, after my mishap, I got straight on with tasks - I thoroughly cleaned the communal kitchen and bins first thing this morning, washed the dog, got on with work, took a break and dog for a walk, more work, another break and to the health suite (steam rooms)
Got home, ate, and back to work, and now I can have an early night. Thanks be to God

I’ve barely used media/YouTube today :+1:
Sunday I spent too much time on YouTube, especially before bed

I’ve been quite Stoic today and reminded myself of going to confession and making time for morning Mass :+1:

And a few exercises and some more before bed :+1:

I’m afraid to say I also relapsed this morning. No hard p but unhelpful media nonetheless. The three biggest problems were 1) stepping out of step with the Spirit to seek “easy” comfort, 2) taking my phone into my bed (not using my electronics prison), and 3) not prioritizing sleep. I need to make getting 7–9 hours of sleep a part of my mini challenge in addition to others.

Not giving up. Day Zero. To the finish line 90 days)

Just checking in guys. Going well on my end. 15 days in the books. Im getting stronger when it comes to the dating apps. Trying to be very careful when showing interest in any woman.

@Forerunner, you had a nice and productive day with all that stuff going. Keep it up my friend.

I am studying for an entrance examination to get into a college so that I can pursue my dreams of becoming a physicist. I stake my life on it - reason enough for quitting anything.

These are what my days are going to be like as the examination comes close😂.

Today turned out nice too. I got almost everything done (5/6) on my list and hopefully will be able to continue my streak of disciplined sleep. I took a nap of 50 minutes in the day. They can turn out to be powerful tools for refreshing your mind if used wisely. That’s all for today.
How was your day?

@MrXYZ Best of success in your studies brother. That’s a powerful dream you’re working towards!

Absolutely agree with you about the naps. It’s just mine are more like 5 hours than 50 minutes

Today has been good, but not as productive as yesterday. I woke up late, and quite a few personal responsibilities have popped up today which took time away from my important tasks.

How are you? @Gk-00 @Forodwaith

Its been a good day.

Morning Mass, and sought The Lord in uncomfortable situations :+1:

Been to Tai Chi class - it was great, and mastering the form :+1:

Had one mishap, in idle moments waiting to for my workspace to be free - but got through alright, and barely used the Internet :fist::+1::wink::pray:

Thanks be to God for a good day
I’m going to work late tonight

I’m fighting to get out of a pit, prayers appreciated. I feel very stuck, not just in rebooting by in doing now of anything outside of work.

Today study as usual, and a fairly busy day. I did dedicate a moment to prayer, but I need to maintain it in the next days!

Relapsed just a few minutes ago before going to bed, I’m stuck in a bit of a relapse cycle, I’m not feeling much motivated to fight to be onest, I need to remind myself why I should quit PMO, and restore my hope!

@anon67854825
@Forodwaith I’m with you brother, I’m in a pit as well from which I cannot get out at the moment, will pray for you for sure  just remember that we will get out eventually, our Lord will never leave us alone in this!

I will be praying for you and others too.

Praying for you both
@Gk-00 @Forodwaith
:pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

I have to be honest I really want you out of that pit and back in the light.
I’m really hoping tomorrow will be a bright day for you both, and you carry that light with you to the end of the week.

I really don’t like giving advise when it’s not asked for and especially because I’m certainly not on a high streak, nor perfect, make stupid mistakes, and giving advise can make me more liable to fall too,…
But here goes anyway;

Keep your head up, keep positive, don’t hold onto negative thoughts - let them go, give them up to the cross :latin_cross:

When it’s difficult to be positive or you feel down - relax, let the storm pass, look toward tomorrow and brighter days.

Never hesitate to ask, search and find.
I’m always here for you

Ask, Seek, Knock

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

The Narrow and Wide Gates

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

A senior monk and a junior monk were travelling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her cross to the other side.

The two monks glanced at one another because they had taken vows not to touch a woman.

Then, without a word, the older monk picked up the woman, carried her across the river, placed her gently on the other side, and carried on his journey.

The younger monk couldn’t believe what had just happened. After rejoining his companion, he was speechless, and an hour passed without a word between them.

Two more hours passed, then three, finally the younger monk couldn’t contain himself any longer, and blurted out “As monks, we are not permitted to touch a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?”

The older monk looked at him and replied, “Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river, why are you still carrying her?”

Nothing is happening except our minds
