I suggest switch to some different content. Like you can watch war movies, documentaries, comedy etc. Check out anime if you want it will give you great Motivation. But for now do a dopamine detox. It will detoxify your mind . Just search for it on the internet. Follow it with devotion and you’ll be fine

First of all, please understand that these things like getting urges are quite normal in the recovery journey. Please don’t stress too much over it! The more you stress over it, the more you think about it and then, higher is the chance of relapse. My answer will consist of two parts - one containing what to do when you are getting huge urges and the other part suggesting general advise that will try to prevent you from getting stuck in this loop of urges’ cycle.

Lets begin with the first part. When you are getting huge urges, there are quite a number of things which can prevent you from relapsing. The first thing you should try is to change your environment in such a way that there is no chance of relapse. Like going outside to a public place or going to your family member’s room and start talking to them. Also, try to induce movement in your body while doing all this. It will help. If the suggested option is not available for you (maybe because it’s night, you can’t go outside or because of lockdown etc.), then start moving in you house only without having phone in hands. The physical movement helps in this situation. There are other things too you can do while facing urges. I had watched a video which suggested 7 ways to transmute our sexual energy. You can try one of these to fight urges: 1. exercise, 2. meditation, 3. experience happiness (eg. listen to music and dance etc.), 4. meet pals, 5. deep work, 6. creative work, 7. cleanliness. So now, you have these tools in your toolbox, use them to fight your urges. I hope you will be successful. :smiley:

Now, lets talk a bit about the general advise on how to avoid getting stuck in this irritating loop of feeling urges. As you have already experienced yourself, the more you are exposed to sexual things (even if it’s soft in nature), the more is the chance of getting stuck in this loop. So, how to avoid it? It’s simple. For getting entertainment while you are on the path of recovery, just rely on those sources of entertainment which are safe in nature. By safe, I mean those sources which are not going to sexually excite you and hence, cannot become a reason for your relapse. You can also get entertainment by listening to music, watching good documentaries, playing clean video games or even better, playing sports etc. If you have an urge to watch movies, please watch only clean movies. Prior to watching a movie, you can check the age rating of that movie and inquire online whether it has any sexual stuff or not. It will help you know beforehand if that movie is safe for you.

I hope these things serve as a comprehensive guide for all those who are fighting off the urges. Always remember you all are great fighters and hence, are not going to fall prey to this addiction. :smiley:

I have never been to this state like triggering from movie scenes and still Holding on large streak.(Even my current streak is HS :sweat_smile:), So I do not give any advice/suggestion to you Bcoz those solution will not going to work until and unless I have not experienced and done practical with those solutions.(This is a law of nature)

BUT Yes! I have experienced this, if you get irritated then stress in brain increases which lead to relapse.

For embracing your urges, just say to yourself when you feel urges that THIS IS NORMAL, I AM ON NOFAP THAT IS WHY I AM FEELING THESE URGES AND IT ENSURES I AM ON RIGHT TRACK.

These type of words will make you feel kind of lighter and then your brain can easily remind you ways like exercise, going outside etc etc and also your brain and body will support you to do so.(This is my personal experience)

BDW I like @saksham3 method very much. I am going to follow same if someday I get in such situation.

You are strong brother. Remember God give tough times are to check you that if are you capable enough that you will handle the benifits/success in a right way.

Nature do not give us anything for free, these urges and tough times are like Price, what you have to pay to get your freedom. Fight hard with these urges and Pay the Price and Become free

First of all WTF!!! :sweat_smile: Are you people helping us or do you want to give just triggers. From last few days, I am seeing that everyday one person posts… I watched THIS, THIS AND THIS. You are unknowingly doing harm to others like me. YOU COULD JUST WRITE THAT YOU WATCHED A SHIT DAMN MOVIE, BUT NO, YOU WILL TELL THE NAMES SO THAT OTHERS CAN GET TRIGGERS “LET ME JUST SEARCH THE NAMES. I WILL NOT WATCH BAD STUFF. :thinking:” That godfather shit was already coming to my mind repeatedly and now another GREAT WISE man came and gave some more triggers :smirk: YOU SHOULD THINK WHAT YOU ARE WRITING.

You asked for help. My suggestion is “stop watching movies” and hold on till the recent urges go away. That is it.

And as far as your trouble after reading and getting triggers is concerned its a fake claim made by your mind first trying to trick you to hold all of those who are sharing experience and then it is asking you to even think that we all are wrong and should be shameful bla bla … understand your mind is playing game on u so u wd fap and free dopamine will be provided to brain.

I understand you @bondjems84 I was just suggesting that you can write the main stuff and skip triggers and details. Still you will get good help. It is just a matter of caring for others. I hope you can understand.
Anyways, I am not getting urges to fap and watch p. But, I may see the faces of those girls just to release curiousity related resistant thoughts AND I WILL NOT RELAPSE. THAT IS A PROMISE.

My intension was not to give you or anyone else any triggers…
I can understand your emotions now after your reply, because seeing a women from a certain movie can give trigger to me, so I guess giving the name of movie may give you curiosity to look up for that scene…
So, I have removed the name of the movie from my original message…
This, is a great community and we are all going through the same pain which we cannot share with others, even to the closest of our relations…
I also was thinking that I should post my thoughts and tell about my problem or not from yesterday but today I finally thought I should share my problems and thankfully I got the answers and guidance as well, thanks brother @HappySoul
And I don’t want to spoil the environment of this community, you found that triggering, so, I apologize to you for my mistake.

One of the main purpose of this group is that one can express the exact pain. which i did. may be i can put a warning note if possible that , the content may cause triggers and do not read if you feel it can affect own self.

To be honest, I am not getting urges to watch such scenes. The curiosity is just to know the names and faces and end it all without relapsing.

@bondjems84 your content was least triggering. What I did not know, I asked you and got my answers, finished… no urges at all. But I just thought that it was not proper. But you have freedom to post whatever you want. Don’t worry, I can handle. :roll_eyes: Just for your information, I am on 8 days streak at this time. You might be on higher streaks. I know that higher streaks people can handle urges better and sometimes they subconsciously forget that lower streaks people may get trouble by some things. I have been there. Finally, I apologize if anybody got offended by my disturbance.
