Our journey to Reboot

Hello guys.
I am also taking part and trying to get rid of this addiction (PMO), and would like to drop a message here and to share some advice, to help you guys to get rid from this addiction.

It’s day 19 for me, and i can tell that staying busy keeps me away from this trap:

A) Reading, working out, keeping myself busy and stuff like that. That’s my simple formula.

B) Also, avoid sleeping on your chest guys…
Even though it is a good way to reduce snoring.

C) Cold showers are good, but i almost don’t take cold showers, but that’s another safety option.

Yeah…about part B:
That’s the reason why i’ve failed on my 43 day…
Wet dreams and stuff happened without my control, then i became sad and failed month after month, until 19 days ago.

I am not a good person:

I am angry, egoistic, but not evil.
There is a lot of work to do guys, i believe that we need to work on ourselves and to become more caring and to love the people and stuff which we already have.
I wish to everyone good luck!.

@anon80614957 Good luck to you too friend!

Day 7 :
I feel blessed. I’m really happy and grateful for everything that the Lord has given. Now every time I’m on my knees praying to Him, I’m not as overwhelmingly guilty as before. I feel hopeful that my Lord will help me get through all my troubles and sufferings. This is not the farthest I have on the counter but is the farthest I have spiritually. I know that this time it’s different. Cliche as it might sound but it’s the truth.
I’m not doing this for the days, counter or something but for my Lord, my family, myself and my faith. This all PMO stuff has really put cracks on my relationship with my Lord and my family. It had fundamentally twisted my perception on how I view myself and the world.

I have taken some drastic\controversial steps on my penultimate relapse, steps that led to my last relapse but willingly so. (You have to do it only once). I’ll wait till I have reached at least 90 days before I share it here though. I don’t want to hurt you guys.

Things to remember:

  1. Have the understanding that PMO is absolutely bad. Research about PMO, like how it messes up our life. And have the conviction and commitment to stop it.
If you don’t have the conviction then nothing’s going to work for you.

  2. Stopping myself from thinking anything inappropriate .

Guard your mind against evil thoughts. Don’t dwell on them, don’t allow evil thoughts to remain in your mind. Stop fantasizing stuff.
You may not be able to keep Satan from putting an evil thought into your mind, but you can reject it immediately.
As someone has said, " You can’t keep the birds from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair . "

  1. Accept that the temptations are normal and don’t act on them .

We are tempted when we become enticed by our own natural desires. The first step toward overcoming temptation is to recognize the human tendency to be seduced by our own fleshly desires.
Temptation is not sin. If temptation were indeed sin, then Jesus Christ would not have led a sinless life. But as the Bible says, Jesus Christ was “tempted in all things,” yet without sin. It’s not the temptations that lead us to sin but us acting on it.
Temptation loses its power when the love of Jesus Christ satisfies our desires.

3)Be careful of what you look at . Never look anything inappropriate twice .

You cannot help seeing some evil things, but it is the second look that leads to sin.
Don’t even think of Porn , let alone looking them up .

  1. Pray and talk to God

I pray every time I have to do something stressful. Talking with God calms me down. When praying you don’t necessarily have to be alone and on your knees. It can be done anywhere, anytime. When I’m tempted I pray to God. Suppressing the urge to sin is difficult on your own, but when you turn to God for help, he can empower you with wisdom and strength to overcome even the most enticing temptations.

  1. Set aside a few minutes of your life daily to recall your nofap journey , why you started this in the first place, the benefits of doing this and why you don’t want to go back etc.

  2. Keep yourself busy, never lay on the bed unless you are tired. Go outside. Always be kind and polite to others. Nothing feels better than making someone smile. Forgive everyone but never forget, don’t make the same mistake twice. Keep distance from immoral people .

I’ll post benefits when I’m past 1 month.

@anon80614957 Great brother, keep going! Stay strong.

It’s been so long… I got so full of myself that I uninstalled the app. After countless relapses I’m back again with renewed humility. Let’s hope for the best.

It’s almost day 13, longest streak I have had in a while. No social media, no porn, no thinking about dirty scenarios, no unnecessary touching or stimulus. As long as I continue doing these, I’m sure I can get rid of P & M for good from my life.

P & M is not the answer to your frustration. Do something else and you will be fine! Good luck to you guys and always be strong!
