@anon80614957 Good luck to you too friend!
Day 7 :
I feel blessed. I’m really happy and grateful for everything that the Lord has given. Now every time I’m on my knees praying to Him, I’m not as overwhelmingly guilty as before. I feel hopeful that my Lord will help me get through all my troubles and sufferings. This is not the farthest I have on the counter but is the farthest I have spiritually. I know that this time it’s different. Cliche as it might sound but it’s the truth.
I’m not doing this for the days, counter or something but for my Lord, my family, myself and my faith. This all PMO stuff has really put cracks on my relationship with my Lord and my family. It had fundamentally twisted my perception on how I view myself and the world.
I have taken some drastic\controversial steps on my penultimate relapse, steps that led to my last relapse but willingly so. (You have to do it only once). I’ll wait till I have reached at least 90 days before I share it here though. I don’t want to hurt you guys.
Things to remember:
-
Have the understanding that PMO is absolutely bad. Research about PMO, like how it messes up our life. And have the conviction and commitment to stop it.
If you don’t have the conviction then nothing’s going to work for you.
-
Stopping myself from thinking anything inappropriate .
Guard your mind against evil thoughts. Don’t dwell on them, don’t allow evil thoughts to remain in your mind. Stop fantasizing stuff.
You may not be able to keep Satan from putting an evil thought into your mind, but you can reject it immediately.
As someone has said, " You can’t keep the birds from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair . "
-
Accept that the temptations are normal and don’t act on them .
We are tempted when we become enticed by our own natural desires. The first step toward overcoming temptation is to recognize the human tendency to be seduced by our own fleshly desires.
Temptation is not sin. If temptation were indeed sin, then Jesus Christ would not have led a sinless life. But as the Bible says, Jesus Christ was “tempted in all things,” yet without sin. It’s not the temptations that lead us to sin but us acting on it.
Temptation loses its power when the love of Jesus Christ satisfies our desires.
3)Be careful of what you look at . Never look anything inappropriate twice .
You cannot help seeing some evil things, but it is the second look that leads to sin.
Don’t even think of Porn , let alone looking them up .
- Pray and talk to God
I pray every time I have to do something stressful. Talking with God calms me down. When praying you don’t necessarily have to be alone and on your knees. It can be done anywhere, anytime. When I’m tempted I pray to God. Suppressing the urge to sin is difficult on your own, but when you turn to God for help, he can empower you with wisdom and strength to overcome even the most enticing temptations.
-
Set aside a few minutes of your life daily to recall your nofap journey , why you started this in the first place, the benefits of doing this and why you don’t want to go back etc.
-
Keep yourself busy, never lay on the bed unless you are tired. Go outside. Always be kind and polite to others. Nothing feels better than making someone smile. Forgive everyone but never forget, don’t make the same mistake twice. Keep distance from immoral people .
I’ll post benefits when I’m past 1 month.
