So many fallen soldiers… Our companions have been taken down by the enemy.

Rise up again brothers! Remember why you’re here! There is no joy or peace or stress relief in PMO, only misery and pain. The only cure to this addiction is permanent abstinence. We can’t keep going backwards or we’ll be here for years. Some of us already have been here for years.

Let me share an eye opening post with you:

The addict must save himself. Anyone who tries to help him while he is unwilling to be helped will fail to support him. The addict willingly chooses to continue in his addiction despite all negative consequences, so no one can save him until he decides that destroying his life is no longer pleasurable.

All addicts are aware that they are destroying their lives, but they see the drug as too pleasurable to quit. Even if it kills them like heroin or crystal meth, they will continue for decades until they make the decision that they have had enough and want to live a better life.

The addict has the complete ability to end his addiction permanently. But ONLY when he wants to.

DON’T YOU WANT TO END THIS?!

I’m sick and tired of relapsing and talking about relapses and pornography and masturbation and edging and peeking and does this count as a relapse and I had this wet dream and my penis isn’t working and I was stressed and tired and anxious and depressed so I watched it again and and blah blah blah! We have to be truly fed up and just end it for good! No more relapses!

The first time I said to myself, ‘I will never relapse again,’ it was back in May 2006. It has been over FIFTEEN YEARS since then. A decade and a half. I know for a fact that if I don’t end things now, it will be 30 years. 50 years. 70 years - I could die an addict. With all the new technology like virtual augmented reality and sex robots and holograms and who knows what else the ■■■■ industry will introduce. No more. I have never found any genuine enjoyment or pleasure from it, and I never will. None of us will, only pain and self-destruction.

It’s high time we ended this cycle. When we’re all at 300+ days and we focus on self-improvement and discipline and making our lives awesome. Imagine a community of people dedicated to improvement, working together in unison, with the boost of semen retention behind them! We would be unstoppable! The creativity, the productivity, the insights, many works of art and genius would be born here. This world needs men like us to stand up and stop grabbing our penises and get to work!

We all have the strength to overcome brothers! Never fear, never doubt that. Get back on track! Free yourselves from prison today!

That’s how I want this community to be. No relapse stories, only success stories. It’s true, everything is in our hands(literally). Strong urges doesn’t break our streak, weak willpower does. People say they don’t give up, then how do you fall everytime? Don’t you give up your streak each time?

It’s so simple yet people make it so complicated. You may think, “oh, look at him talking about success, himself being on 2 days streak”. Well greatness originate from zero, I’m free now. You may not believe it but it is what it is. You’ll only see the number going up and I don’t even care about the number. It doesn’t matter, I’m woken, I’m free. You can be free too, on day 1. Yes, you absolutely can. Question is if you want to? Or will you wait till day 21, 30, or 90?

Extremely powerful words bro @Forerunner . Thank you so much for posting it . You have been in this journey for 15 long years. Even after making so much improvements and even recieving help from family and home. This shows us the gravity of this addiction. Only one thing can save us, as you said, 100% commitment to never look back and to live an authentic, passionate and purposeful life. Bro, I was addicted to smoking cigarettes- back in college I couldn’t get through a day without smoking. I still remember those evenings when I couldn’t concentrate on anything as I didn’t smoke. When I used to wake up the first thing I will think about is cigarette; I was so addicted- the number of cigarettes increased from 2 to 4 to 6 and even 8 per day.
But finally when I decided to stop it, it was so easy. It was just a matter of a decision. Yes, there were huge urges, withdrawals etc but after those initial stages it was so easy. I never looked back and smoking is nothing in my life now. It is not my identity anymore. An year and a half ago when I see someone smoking my heart beats will rise, a lot of hormones used to get released in my brain. But now it is nothing to me. It is so easy.
But pmo, this shit is present everywhere bro. When Iam with friends most them will be talking about this, they all watch it and fap everyday, its secrecy; no one else will know about this as we have VPN, android phones and toilets, look at ads, switch on TV , open YouTube, go to a market or mall to buy something, watch a movie- everything is pornified in this world right now. Most of them are addicted and are in denial.
I don’t see any other option but as you said, 100% commitment to never fall into it; to accept ourselves as a non-pmo-er, to make it our identity forever, leave those friends who enjoy doings pmo, blocking our phones, reaching our for support. If we don’t change now, when are we going to do this?
After 2 years? 5? 10? 20?
Through real accountability, 100% commitment, strong self discipline and most importantly by living a sincere and authentic life lets get out of this once and for all. Pmo is pain and suffering. Genuine pleasure comes from real world relationships and a passionate, meaningful life.

But even after saying all these, I may go 100 days or 120 days pmo free, then suddenly a huge stress will arise in life. Then even though a lot of rewiring had been done the first thing I will think about will be pmo. Even though we know that it will only increase the stress, this will be our automatic reaction. I searched for the science behind this and found that when stress, suffering, pain etc happen our amygdala, old part of the brain etc will be active. The new part i.e., the prefrontal cortex which is the rational part will shut down as our brain will be in the fight or flight mode during stress. So there is only one way to get out of this addiction once and for all.
That is

MINDFULNESS

We all must incorporate mindfulness practices such yoga, Meditation, mindful eating, praying and most importantly mindful living. Our success lies in becoming insanely mindful in those stressful times. We must look at our thoughts; we must become the viewer; not the decision maker or doer. There are many books, articles and videos getting out these days on the topic. It is very important in this journey, I believe bro @Forerunner

That’s true staying mindful is important. I would also like to add one thing, I have noticed and also looked up from various sources that however mindful we are but in the moments of weakness we tend to forget what’s right, so we always need to have the reason for which we started all this (semen retention) written down somewhere, no not somewhere it should be in your immediate reach all the time, probably in your journal or in your mobile phone saved as screenshot or however you prefer it.
So that whenever you are in that weak state, nothing seems right other than PMO just read those powerful lines you wrote when you were in your right mind. It will help.

Day 18/92 :white_check_mark:

@vickyx I realized on Day 0 that I was never going to relapse again. Don’t worry about the streak or days. Once we’ve made that positive decision to quit permanently, we will achieve every milestone in due time. 30, 60, 90, 180, 365, 1000, they will all come. You are free now!

@prothekter_aden Glad to see you back man!

@Tagore I’m glad my words were beneficial. Yes, even with all the accountability I have in my life, the only way this ends is with the permanent decision to quit forever. Accountability helps us stop the bleeding - we won’t go back to being an everyday PMOer, but no one can stop us from relapsing but ourselves.

In order to prevent relapses on higher streaks, mindfulness is essential, along with @The_integrous_one 's advice. We must never forget the darkness we have left behind. Daily reminders are necessary.

There is never a good excuse to justify a relapse. No amount of stress, anxiety, depression, personal difficulties, challenges or losses is worth going back to PMO. It only ever makes our lives worse. We have to practice gratitude for being released from that strange hell.
