Ive been losing focus.
I’ve been craving dopamine in small doses through clean videos.
I’ve been careless enough to wait and check everyday the movie site for my favourite movie’s DVD print.
I’m addicted to screen. Be it to educational videos but it must not interfere my day to day tasks. It must too be in limit.
And I really need to quit movies for good. It’s the root cause of my past PMO ruined life. This is final thing. If I successfully quit movies and achieve calm and focus, I’m on level 3. I’ve never been on level 3, not even when I reached 101 days.

These levels are difficulty levels in my streak. It may differ for you.
Level 1 is till 31 to 32 days I’ve noticed it’s easy to control urges if I control external triggers.

Level 2 is beyond 32 days. I feel sexual desire without external urges. In this time following previous routine becomes difficult but is most essential. I may relapse due to weak willpower, free time, non busy schedule, and persuit of pleasure from movies etc I may feel demotivated and sad and may reach for movies that may lead to relapse due to trigger. Anyway, exercise helps in this state miraculously.

Level 3 is a peaceful time. I’ve felt it today only. It needs total acceptance of not wanting to persue pleasure from entertainment. I only watched 30 mins of Yt islamic lectures in whole day. I have accepted to not watch movies and to protect my eyes. I guard my eyes like a boxer guards his head. Also I practice mindfulness meditation in namaz and zikr. I feel more focus. I’m motivated to do my daily task. Study is easy. I exercise. I eat healthy. I live stress feel life. I’m happy and contented. It’s simply not wanting dopamine. Rewiring, habit building and building a strong foundation for future goals.

I need to at least stay at level 3 to not relapse.

Check in Day 36

Today I reached level 3. I took control of my smartphone addiction. I only used it for 30 mins for educational, spiritual and motivational purposes.

I’ve started practicing focus in daily tasks like namaz and zikr. Today I felt tremendous focus and energy. I hope to practice this daily.

3 Types of NAFS

Also I’ve started talking to my addicted part, the NAFS E AMMARA The part that wants PLEASURE. The part that is a loser. I talk rudely to it, I scold it when it give me ideas to waste time or chose wrongly. My will power is increasing many folds now Alhamdulillah.

2nd types of nafs is NAFS E LAWAMMA ( the nafs that is self conscience, which speaks up when you do anything wrong. Guilt arises from it. It tells what is right to do) I listen to its commands and follow it.

Last type of nafs is NAFS E MUTAMAINNA ( the satisfied nafs) this part gets happy when you do something good like helping others, worship Almighty Allah, good deeds that lead you to paradise. Doing good deeds strengthen it.

Why I think I will succeed this time?
I have started living life to the fullest. I am socializing with good company. I’m becoming an EXTROVERT. Im improving everyday. I’m working on my self control and focus everyday. I’ve developed qualities such as discpline and hard working attitude. IT’S ALL THANKS TO ALLAH ALMIGHTY WHO ALWAYS GUIDES AND HELPS ME, AND SHOWS ME THE WAY. ALHAMDULILLAH.
I love my new life and won’t go back to the old locked up fat human zombie who was always in persuit of pleasure from PMO, FOOD And MOVIES.

@anon87955785 thanks, I try. I sleep around 12 am and also try to take 1 hr nap after lunch. Today I woke up 40 mins late due to sleep deprivation, offered Fajr Morning Namaz and then slept till 11 am. I need to sleep earlier than 12 am.

1 second rule is modified version of 5 second rule. When you wake up to Alarm, instead of waiting, immediate go into action mode. Move your muscles, get out of your bed. If you wait any longer, your will will weaken. Use this principle in controlling and avoiding triggers too. Use this rule in doing priority tasks according to schedule in order to beat procrastination.

Update

I lost 7.6 Kgs in these 40 days. I didn’t went out and eat junk or fast food in these 40 days. I also ate completely healthy. I exercised regularly 5 to 6 days per week.
It’s my day 2 of no White Sugar ( white poison).

I wasn’t horny for a single moment in these 40 days because of my strict rules.

My energy levels are stable. I’m fresh. I have more than ever focus.
I have still ways to go. Battles to fight and win.

Alhamdulillah for everything I have achieved and everything I will ever achieve.

Today was a hard day. Due to work load from college, I felt stress and this served to weaken my willpower a lot. Doing today’s tasks took a toll on my willpower. I need to learn to relax in the face of stress.

Well well well, yesterday was day 41 and things have changed. Yesterday I didn’t follow my strict rules and so my NAFS became very powerful. I had to fight it in order to just not deviate towards the sin. Time passed, I came back to my routine and gained some control over it by the grace of Allah Almighty. I’m back from level 3 to 2. Here are the details.

Due to less than 5 hrs sleep, stress due to workload, no persistent wazu ( yes I try to be in wazu all the time, it does wonders to self control and focus), no midday nap to recharge my mental powers and my wanting for visual pleasure by searching he movie site for a movie I’ve been waiting i.e Top gun maverick,… My willpower was drained, my NAFS became powerful and Satan influenced it.

I Thought to skip namaz in congregation but at last minute I changed my mind and went to nearest Mosque. Change of environment, prayer to Almighty Allah kept me safe. Then I skipped evening exercise to complete my college task. I was free. I could watch movie or come back to my routine. I chose the latter and went to Quran class in the last moment decision. Then i slept early as I was exhausted. I slept from 9:58 pm to 4:35 am, offered morning prayer, and then slept again from 5 am to 9:11 am.
I was saved by the grace of Allah Almighty.

Adequate sleep more than 5 hrs… Best is 6 hrs
Be in Wazu all the time

Have faith in Allah when overburdened–do your best and leave the rest to Allah - don’t compromise on routine
Don’t seek pleasure in any form- it strengthens your NAFS and weakens your Willpower

Check in Day 44

Increased workload caused me stress which gave rise to powerful urges in the afternoon after I returned from college. I recognize that 1 pm to 8pm is my most vulnerable time.

The thing that saved me was help of Allah Almighty. He helped me to follow my afternoon and evening routine which is namaz in congregation-zuhr, then lunch, then a nap, then namaz in congregation–Asr, then exercise, then namaz in congregation–maghrib and then Quran Translation class in masjid.

Keeping yourself busy is the key to success.

Check in Day 45

Same powerful urges due to stress and workload. I slipped a little. I searched and watched Minions the rise of Gru. Then I came back to my routine and was saved.
These are the challenges that will either make me relapse or make me stronger in self control. These urges made me relapse in my past. These are my final boss fight till now. Let’s see what’s on the other side.
I’m stronger than my urges. I always have a choice and I am fully responsible for my actions that lead upto a relapse.
I think if I keep up, I’ll adjust to this situation in a month or so. Let’s hope for the best.
