I looked back at the book โnever finishedโ by david goggins (i think you should all read this, it is so inspirational). Theres some things he has in this book that could fit in the codex.
โContinued growth only comes when you are willing to be humbleโ
โThere are 86,400 seconds in a day. Losing just one of those seconds can change the outcome of your day and, potentially, your life.โ
"We all owe it ourselves to stand for something. Principles give us a foundation โ solid ground we can trust and build on as we continue to redefine whatโs possible in our own lives. Sure, some will be put off by your dedication and level of effort. Others will call you obsessed or think that youโve gone crazy. When they do, smile and say, โIโm not crazy. Iโm just not you.โ
(The last one is really long for a codex, but i feel it hits home with our mission here on this app)
As for small updates, I wrote down next few rules to the Gentlemen Codex, three of which have been inspired by @mphexpert, but rewritten such that I felt them concise enough
If anybody has any more advice that should be codified, let us know - after all, the point is to grow!
Yes, I relapsed, and it was something that ive done every time. My social media apps have taken ads to a new level and show ai apps that ive used previously. They spark an urge thats pretty strong. I am restricting these apps, and hiding all of those ads until they hopefully disappear.
However, i listened to a podcast by Sarah Brewer that really explains how to overcome urges and how to overcome this entire issue. Gonna try it out
I have a bit longer weekend now and there will be a carnival in town so I plan to go out and practice socialising more.
@someBody13 I have a suggestion for a rule or it can be just a recommendation. I think itโs good to have the 18 days as first target, but we need goals after that as well and simply adding more days would be too plain. Being open for development and willing to improve is one of the great virtue of gentlemenโs. So my rule recommendation is that we should set improvement goals upon reaching the 18 days.
For example to strenghten my dedication to self development I set a goal for weightloss and another for book reading. I donโt we need daily check ins on these but maybe a weekly feedback or update can be expected.
