Exercise. What is the best option?

Hello Everyone,

I need some advice for losing weight and if you have a certain exercise that you do I would greatly appreciate it if you would tell me what exercise you do. Now I ain’t overweight just gaining to much to feel comfortable with. I would like to be in the 130’s but right now my weight is 151 which is average. I know that some of you here do some exercises and I would also like to build muscles. Thank you for listening.

Best Regards,
Samuel

This is a serious concern brother I think you should cut down junks and replace them with fruits.

I assume your streak is high so it’s obvious for you to go on a morning walk and do some exercises like pushups situps like all

I think the most effective way to loose weight, become fit and healthy is running.
If you do a good research, you will know how to and when to run :running_man:

I do cardio exercises like running, push ups , jumping jacks, squats and burpees. There are a lot of cardio exercises that will make your heart beat fast and lose weight. The best thing about it is there is very less muscle strain after exercise in my opinion.

Hey Brother,

Can I ask what’s your height? Because 130s seems to be very underweight, especially for a man in his thirties. It’s dangerous to be way too underweight and you shouldn’t do that. I speak from experience.

If 150 is considered average weight for your height and age, you should try maintaining that weight. If you’re “skinny fat”, then you also maintain this weight, while decreasing your body fat %. This can be done by exercising consistently and eating a good amount of healthy food. Try using the app Myfitnesspal to have an accurate suggestion of calories intake based on your objectives and height.

As for an exercice, the best way to be fit Brother is to combine both cardio and strength training together. One without the other is not enough. You can do cardio as the others suggested. And also combine it with strength training. You should prioritize compound movements. My favorite is the pull up. If you do not have the strength to do it, then I can suggest some exercices to progress until you are able to do pull ups. I recall you mentioned you were in the military, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you can already do many pull ups. Let me know!

Hey @TonyTheChristian my height is 5 foot 8 inches. Here is my BMI according to wiki:

Yes Brother I am skinny fat. when I stand up I don’t show the fat but when I sit down I see the fat. I already do maintain it by exercising. The exercises that I do are cardio and muscle building exercises.

As for eating a good healthy meal I eat only restaurant food 1 a month. I only have 2 cookies every morning and leftover restaurant food from my parents (which isn’t very much).

All I needed from everyone here was what they do to maintain their exercise routine and build muscle.

I’m thinking of starting bjj @Believer

Not sure if something like that is a good option for you?

@JamesSKS what is bjj?

Sorry I mean Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
A great sport that favours discipline and technique over strength

But to start running at first you should workout more with legs, because if you run without exercising legs, there will be a lot of strain on your knees
