Not fully satisfied with the day
Studied 4 hours total 30 mins wasted for no reason tho still a win win coz I didn’t let it go to waste.

Even slow progress is a progress.

Feeling better. Did not PMO yesterday night, which is usually a constant when I’m deep into addiction. I followed some advice from other topics in this forum, and started reading this book, available online:

It is a rewritten version of a book about stopping smoking but for PMO. So far it is helping me to realize the things I’ve been doing wrong, going deep to the root of this addiction. Very entertaining book and very direct and revealing. It is a short book, probably could be read in a single session, so it is absolutely worth your time. This will surely go in my bag of noPMO literature lol.

New challenges lay ahead, let’s free ourselves of this PMO burden for life! :pray:

I don’t smoke,I hope that I could treat porn as sensible as I treat cigarette,that is to say,I shall never be fool enough to think I can immune to it since I haven’t crave for somking.

@Karan050 Remember Karan, urges are not the problem. We can always handle them in the correct way. People who have been free for years still get urges, but they just respond to them differently.

Put down your phone and do something else - some exercise, go for a walk, prepare lunch, call a friend etc. We’re most vulnerable to urges while sitting or lying down, scrolling on our phones. No one relapses while walking around doing things.

I had a lie-in. Started reading that book @Gk-00 grazie mille! Enjoying it immensely and taking notes.
I’m committed to this book as it’s covering many things I’d suspected, just struggled to work at alone.

Worked in the afternoon :+1: went on a bit too long :pray:

Man, I’ve been failing almost daily here as well. This last week was hitting a limit for me in terms of stress and mental health and that was in part because of my failings in this area. I am am growing in confidence though, as I practice living in God’s love instead of ambition or condemnation.

I was getting along with @Forerunner but I had a relapse.

So please becareful who had a streak.

I went to day 0 from highest streak 17 days 11 hrs
And I want to return back on track
Just want to talk a little bit
Any advices or companions who can be with me on the same track?

It’s just one relapse not a big deal. Suppose in next 30 day starting from the day you started the reboot. You have 1 failure in 30 day so get the fuck after the 30 mark and try not to hinge coz that’s a more stupid idea than just one relapse.

And don’t have the mentality of day 0 but menatality of “I don’t want to exceed the relapse count more than 1 and I will continue for next 13 days coz it’s easy and I’ve done it earlier, this time I’ll avoid the daily mistakes that lead me to relapse earlier on day 17”

Coz I have seen this with myself that the final relapse didn’t matter but me not changibg my response to triggers and not developing the self talk may it be with just a simple thought of sex.
I say to myself that “Yes I want sex no doubt in that but what I don’t want is to sit across a screen and just fantasize about girls naked coz 1- they are not naked for me and if I continue this they will never be, so if I really want to have sex let’s improve my status in performance, physical look and appeal and financial because this one relapse tho not much this adds up and when compounded leaves me with acne on my face, ed and I don’t wnat to have a limp dick that’s for sure, not able to focus and the opportunity cost of not earning at this age would leave me in a big rut later in my life and I don’t want to be that. Addict and me no bro if I control not being one I will give my best. While if I don’t relapse this time it leaves me one more step closer to me being able to refuse porn and that instant gratification and play the delayed gratification game and then I will ofcourse get a smoking hot gf(though I already have one😆) wife then maybe. I’ll have more respect from her then let’s play for that”

If you do this:

  1. take a step back and observe what’s happening and what you’re thinking
  2. take 5 deep and calm breath.
  3. choose what you really want deep down
  4. respond in a healthy way.

You’ll be out of the rut pretty quickly.
One more thing don’t worry about what will happen 10 days later when you relapse coz you might. But that doesn’t matter coz future is in future. You only control now and if you can control now you can encounter the future with the same weapons of reason and choice,that gaurd you against the rut today.
