For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Romans 5:6 (KJV)
Inspiration
Christ died for our sins when we were weak and feeble. We did not deserve to be saved and never realized we needed His merciful salvation. This act says something special about God. He knows what we need before we do, and He loves us enough to complete such a selfless act without expecting anything in return. He did not wait around for us to become wiser or more worthy of His grace because His unconditional love is precious, selfless, and pure.
Prayer
Dear God, we are thankful for Your grace and mercy. You saved us before we knew we needed saving, and You love us beyond our understanding. We happily surrender our sinful nature to serve You. We love You because You first loved us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Romans 5:19 (KJV)
Inspiration
Christ’s crucifixion is the perfect example of obedience to God. Death on a rugged cross was not an enjoyable experience for Him, yet the outcome allowed us the opportunity for salvation. God asks us to complete countless works in His name. Often, they do not feel enjoyable, yet we understand the result of our obedience is far above our comprehension. We trust that any ordeal we face will have the best outcome regarding God’s plan for the world.
Prayer
Dear God, we will trust You when You ask us to complete works in Your name. Even though the tasks appear challenging, we have faith in Your plan and continue to live our lives according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Romans 6:6 (KJV)
Inspiration
Sin rules our lives until we accept Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. When we invite Him into our lives, our old sinful heart dies, and God creates within us a new one, where sin no longer rules our life; God does! Our thoughts and actions begin to change because we no longer desire a sinful lifestyle. We joyfully devote our lives to serving Him and inviting others to understand His promise of salvation.
Prayer
Dear Lord, we are sinners born again and recreated to live according to Your will. We are grateful for Your love and the peace we experience by abolishing our old sinful self. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Romans 6:9 (KJV)
Inspiration
We humble ourselves before the Lord when faced with the almighty power He possesses. Death is final to us, yet it has no command over the Maker of the heavens and earth. God has authority over all His creation; we feel small, yet mighty and honored, to be loved by Him. We are grateful that the One who holds the world in the palm of His hand also carries our spirits close to His heart and feels we are worthy to experience eternal life.
Prayer
Dear God, we humble ourselves before You. Thank You for considering us worthy of Your love. We devote our spirits to You and are proud to be Your children. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Romans 6:19 (KJV)
Inspiration
We are no longer bound to sin! Instead, we have chosen to serve a living God, a Heavenly Father who loves us beyond our understanding. When we surrender our will to God, we see the ministry He has designed us to complete. God blesses us with talents and spiritual gifts we use to bring others to know Him. We devote our lives and vow to use our mind, body, and soul to complete work for the Lord.

Dear God, we are devoted to You and willingly commit our mind, body, and soul to the works You have laid before us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High

Praise and worship is the highlight of our week! As we think over the past few days, we see the blessings God has bestowed upon us, the opportunities of healing He has granted, and we feel His continuous presence. We have much to thank God for and joyfully lift praises to His name during worship. No words or melody can truly express our appreciation, yet God understands our authentic affection when we kneel before Him with happy hearts.

O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
Psalm 92:5 (KJV)
Inspiration
One small act of kindness can change the world. God is all-powerful. He moves mountains, parts the seas, and brings dry bones to life. God tells the sun to shine in the daytime and directs the moon to glimmer in the darkness of night. We see beauty and grandeur in the world He created, yet His small acts of love touch our hearts the most. God knows what we need before we ask and tends to our every concern. He thinks of all the small details we overlook as He makes the world a better place.
Prayer
Dear Lord, we overlook so many small details; You do not miss anything. You provide for the lilies of the field just as You nurture our spirits, and we are grateful for Your undivided attention to our concerns. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

We hide our sin from the world, but we cannot hide from God. He sees the darkness in our minds and our sin-stained hearts. There is no hiding who we are. God does not like sin, yet He loves us. Prayer
Dear God, You are our Creator; we cannot hide sin from You. Please forgive us for withholding our transgressions. We want to address our errors honestly and change our sinful nature. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Psalm 73:3 (KJV)
Inspiration
The wicked prosper in our imperfect world, and the Devil stirs up jealousy and bitterness within us. He tries to make us feel overlooked, unblessed, and rejected by God. The Devil intends to separate us from our Heavenly Father. We will not fall victim to this trickery! We feel God’s presence in every moment and see the abundance of blessings He has undeservingly bestowed upon us. We will cling to Him and ignore evil games.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 16:7 (KJV)
Inspiration
Jesus tells the disciples that the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, will be present in His absence. God cannot be present amidst sin, thus causing us to become separated from our Creator. God loves us unconditionally and sent Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are filled with the Holy Spirit, thus allowing God to live within our hearts. God loves us beyond our understanding and made it possible to be united again. We will continue to live according to His will and abolish our sinful ways.
Prayer
Dear God, You love us despite our sin and made it possible for our souls to reunite with You for eternity. We devote our love to You and will continue to live according to Your will, abolishing our sinful ways; we will be together again one sweet day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

John 16:23 (KJV)
Inspiration
Stresses of the modern world bog us down daily; thus, we take our concerns to the Lord by calling on the authority of Jesus. God hears our cries and discerns our wants from what we need. Through Jesus, we have access to God and will call upon Him continually.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
John 10:1 (KJV)
Inspiration
A sheep pen typically has one door, which allows the shepherd and gatekeeper complete control over who may go in and out. Those who jump over the fence do not have permission and are considered thieves or robbers who intend to harm the flock. Jesus stands guard to prevent false prophets from jumping into our lives. He is on constant watch and lays His life down to defend the entrance. We are oblivious to danger lurking beyond our pen because our faith rests in the love of our Lord and Savior.
Prayer
Dear Lord, You consistently protect our hearts from dangers we do not understand. We love You and remain faithful to You always and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
John 10:3 (KJV)
Inspiration
When multiple flocks of sheep become blended, there is no need to worry. The good shepherd will call out to his sheep, and they come directly to him because they know his voice and will not confuse it with others. As God’s people, we often become mixed up in things of the world. Sin is tempting as we surround ourselves with the wrong crowd; God is always watching and calls us back to the fold. We find Him when we are lost because we know the sound of His voice; it’s the only one we’ve chosen to follow, and we do not confuse it with others.
Prayer
Dear God, when we are lost, we listen for You. Your voice is precious and will guide us back to the fold where we belong. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
John 10:14 (KJV)
Inspiration
Shepherds anoint their sheep with oil to kill mites and parasites, thus preventing diseases from spreading amongst the flock. The sheep do not understand why this procedure occurs, trusting his kind hands as he administers healing and protection. Jesus is the good shepherd who anoints our hearts with protection from the disease of sin. We do not need to understand His actions because we trust the loving hands that held the cross leading to calvary.

Dear Lord, You are loving and kind. We trust Your actions as You protect us from evil parasites and the disease of sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
John 8:34 (KJV)
Inspiration
Sin will enslave us and become the master of our lives if allowed. Sin binds us in darkness, and we become submissive to our fears. Jesus is a light in the dark, and we have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior. Sin has no control over us! We have repented our sinful ways and surrendered our lives to the will of God. Serving Him replaces a life of misery with joy and peace.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
2 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)
Inspiration
In Corinth, a few felt Paul was not as remarkable as his letters made him appear to be. They thought highly of themselves and made negative comments that had the potential to harm his ministry. Paul says it is not wise to compare one another this way. He was once a soldier who persecuted Christians. He was not a spiritual leader, yet, God called him to share the Gospel with the nations. We must encourage one another regarding the works God has called us to do instead of comparing our talents. God has a perfect plan for each of us, and we will encourage one another to follow it precisely.
Prayer
Dear God, please teach us to stop analyzing each other and seek to encourage instead. You have called us to complete crucial works in Your name, and You place the proper person in authority. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
