Today was good. Started with prayer meditation and prayed.
I also went early to the gym. I was tempted over there due to some women, and I felt the desire to sin by lusting on them. But I didnât look or lust on them. I finished my workout and came back home
At home, I was watching a movie. For some reason there was the temptation resurfacing, wanting me to lust on the women in the movie and making me a little frustrated. But I didnât lust.
I again helped my father on something. Then I had supper with the family. I just finished reading chapters from the Bible and reading my notes. I thanked God for the messages He taught me today in the chapters I read. I now feel so peaceful.
I am grateful to be alive. I remember when I was deep in this sin that I wanted to die and I was ungrateful. But now I thank God that He gives me another day alive. God is great!

Motivational Scripture
Isaiah 11:1-3 (KJV) And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

God is with me in the good and bad days. I focus more on contemplative prayer meditation. This prayer gets me through each and every urge. I take 10 or 15 minutes or even more to listen what God speaks to me during that quite time. Also to calm my dopamine receptors I listen to my favorite artist of music.

Today was not a very perfect day because I stumbled in the morning, but itâs not a setback, just a small slip. I got up afterwards and refused to let it be a setback. The reason for this slip was that I suffered from severe insomnia last night and couldnât sleep, so I was very exhausted. However, I will make sure to improve the quality of my sleep in the coming days. I want to ask you, is this insomnia normal at the beginning of recovery?

Yes, experiencing insomnia during the early stages of recovery from pornography or masturbation addiction (often referred to as âNoFapâ) is quite common and generally temporary. When you stop engaging in these habits, your brain goes through a period of adjustment, particularly involving the dopamine system. Pornography and frequent masturbation overstimulate dopamine pathways, and when that stimulation is removed, the brain can experience a kind of withdrawal. This can result in restlessness, anxiety, and difficulty falling or staying asleep.
Additionally, many people notice an increase in physical energy and sexual tension during the first few days or weeks of abstinence. This surge in energy can make it harder to relax and wind down at night. If you previously used pornography or masturbation as a way to cope with stress or fall asleep, the sudden absence of that routine can throw off your bodyâs natural sleep cues. You may also feel more emotionally sensitive, irritable, or anxious, which can further contribute to insomnia.
Thankfully, these symptoms usually peak within the first one to two weeks and begin to ease as your body and mind adjust. In the meantime, there are some effective strategies to help improve your sleep. Physical exercise during the day can help burn off excess energy, while cold showers or deep breathing exercises in the evening can calm your nervous system. Avoiding screens and overstimulation before bed, maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, and incorporating mindfulness practices like meditation or journaling can also support better rest.
Overall, while insomnia in early NoFap recovery is uncomfortable, itâs typically a sign that your brain is healing and rebalancing itself. If it continues beyond a month or severely affects your quality of life, it may be worth exploring additional factors or speaking with a professional.

Challenge Status: 9/30 (I chose a month because I tipically canât get past the month, I have done it a few times in the past, two times, but Iâve been on the NoFap journey since 2018, though with interruptions, so two times in seven years, yeah I struggle getting passed the month of abstinence, but hopefully now I will make it, thank you guys!)

Today could have been better. I woke up and listened to the Bible in a year podcast, prayed and went to work.
I prayed to God in my car to protect me before entering the office. Unfortunately I had a lot of fleeting thoughts today. I managed to reject almost all of them. I only had 2 thoughts during the day that I entertainrd for 1-2 seconds.
While talking to my coworker at lunch time, I felt the desire in me to look at her differently and lust on her. I didnât, but I did have fleeting thoughts coming my way. Today was harder than the other day and this time I saw her more as an object than as a human. I did have to read multiple times scripture, pray in my mind and remind myself that she is my sister. When doing so, the thoughts would stop. But I was tempted unfortunately.
Iâll finish the day with Bible reading and take notes.
I just realized something today. I started working in that job since 2021. And since that time I still have this desire and lustful thoughts. Itâs really unfortunate that I still have this struggle. But thereâs a difference. When I started in 2021, I would purposely lust and entertain the thoughts not for 1-2 seconds, but for several minutes at a time. I wouldnât even try rejecting them and I wouldnât even turn to God for His help. Now, I reject almost all thoughts, and if I entertain a few, itâs only for 1-2 seconds before I stop and turn to God.
Yes, itâs unfortunate that I still have this struggle. But there is definitely progress since the last few years. This is proof that God is still working in me. I still need His help, and will always need it.
It is impossible to become perfect, as these struggles are part of being human. But perseverance in seeking God is the key. Youâll still be flawed, but youâll be so much stronger in resisting sin and choosing God.

Motivational Scripture
John 16:30-32 (KJV) Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

Today is a bit hard. I woke up in the middle of the night and had lustful thoughts coming out of nowhere. I did entertain one for a few seconds unfortunately before I stopped. I prayed in the morning and asked God to forgive me for these bad thoughts in the middle of the night. Then Iwent to work and prayed in my car before entering the office.
Today I didnât lust on my coworker because I basically didnât talk to her the whole day. But I did have unfortunately a few lustful thoughts coming my way again. I entertained 2 of them for a few seconds before stopping myself. Later, I left my desk and went somewhere a bit private. I opened my phone and read the verses from Scripture that can be used as spiritual weapon. The moment I read one of the passages the bad thoughts went away immediately. Thatâs the power of God in action.
I am going to the gym. Iâll be praying before entering because I know there will be countless people dressed immodestly. I need to get a grip and stop entertaining any thoughts, even for a few seconds. I do run to God, but I delay it by a few seconds before doing so. I shouldnât do that. I should run immediately.
Itâs already been more than 50 days since my last relapse on April 8. I would say I should still celebrate a victory: since May 2024, I relapsed a total of 2 times (both times on April 8). And thatâs it. Thatâs honestly a miracle. A few years ago I couldnât go more than a week or 2 before relapsing and falling to a chaser effect. Now itâs 2 times in a whole year! Thank God for this miracle.
I still have a lot of work to do. The fact that I still have the desire to lust means I still need Godâs help. And I will not underestimate the issue ever again. Thatâs one of the reasons why I fell on April 8. I will never forget the devastation I felt.

Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
