DAY 53
Today for fun I just checked my counter and I am very happy to know that i’ve gone past 50 days. My previous best was 43 days. Although as I’ve said earlier i’m not focussing much on the number of days. My phone is still completely locked, I use my phone only for calling , whatsapp and meditation nothing else. And I am also not gonna let my guard down, still expecting urges, no overconfidence, just going on with the flow.
My thoughts/feelings until now:
- I am really happy the way it turned out. I mean not just on nofap, I am studying 5+hrs a day on an average , it was till now for exams but since my exams are over, I am gonna focus on things I am really passionate about. Also I am exercising daily, I didn’t exercise for only about 4-6 days during these 50 days(due to valid reasons) and also daily meditation is helping me feel good.
- Focus has really increased, I have greater concentration and also I feel really good after being productive for 5+hrs a day.
- Social anxiety is completely gone… I am feeling that I am back… I mean I could talk to anyone clearly and much boldly than before.
- Overthinking is something I need to control, no bad thoughts but i’m unncessarily thinking of things that would not happen and getting lost in such thoughts. I am meditating and I do think slowly i’m being more aware of such thoughts and trying to control it, It does take time.
- Journaling has always been wonderfull experience. Knowing other’s experiences does really help.
- I am having a lot of energy now. I could experience it and to be honest this is one and only thing that you will experience…having more energy and I do feel that its a blessing in disguise to your mind and body even thoughts its not like any supernatural benefit.
Some tips/suggestions to those who are struggling on the first few days:
- Don’t think too much about the days, if possible try not to forget it as much as you can. Because in some videos people say after day 21 you are free or after 2 weeks you are free and these things will strike our mind and we’ll be eager to reach that 21 day mark and then unkownigly we let our guard down and we fail (This is something that has happened with me). So don’t focus too much on the number of days. I am not gonna go behind days , I just checked today,I may not even check for next few months. It may help you also.
- Stop focussing too much on nofap. I mean we focus so much that we end up procrastinating. We see a lot of movies, listen to songs, watch a lot of motivational videos, get bored and finally end up starting again. So instead try to develop new habits such as productivity , exercise , meditation and all and fill up your days with good habits. Do rely to an extent on motivation for the first few weeks then stop relying on it. If you have gone through my diary then you may have seen that I did try to study from the start and at first I was studying for 1-2hrs maximum then my time did go up to 5-6hrs on an avg and I did reach 11hrs once and I am really happy. So focus on your new habits more.
These are some of my suggestions and it will work. I am still learning… New habits, new lifestyle…Happier
Never stop trying, you will succed one day if you have the determination and will to succed…That one day might be today… Keep on trying
