Warning to those on High Streaks

If you’re on a high streak right now and feel like relapsing, well please don’t, because you will regret it and be wishing you didn’t give in. Take a moment to realize how far you’ve come, and take note of how hard it was to get to where you are now, you put alot of hard work and dedication to get to where you are, and are you sure you want to throw all that away just for second pleasure? It could take a long time to get this far again or worse you’ll end binging for days, weeks or months and its a hard cycle to break, I recently fell off 54 days and ive been binging all week, somehow I have got to break the cycle. Just don’t make the same mistake I did, you will regret it and won’t be easy to get out from it. Take advantage of where you’re at now, keep hustling, and please don’t give in! Stay strong out there brothers!!!

I needed this kind of message back in November 2024. Thank you for this message of hope for me. I am 111 days clean and I was thinking about failing but I seen this and I will not give up hope now. I will continue my streak and remain strong. Brother you may not know this but you where an answer to my prayer. Thank you.

The instinct of being complacent and overconfident comes naturally to us when we get a higher streak
So its important to recognize this and be more vigilant and aware of what’s happening and also appreciate where we have reached till now
Kudos to you for going strong :muscle:

@The_EnlightenedOne Thank you so much! You’re absolutely right—it’s easy to get complacent when things are going well. Staying aware and grounded is key to keeping that momentum going. I appreciate the encouragement! Let’s keep pushing forward and stay focused. :muscle::clap:

I relapsed 5 days ago unfortunately, my streak was 86 days which is my highest. Before that I could not reach a clean month within a year.
A strong urge destroyed everything, I was too weak when I was scrolling reels and I relapsed. Since then I relapse often again because of chaser effect

This is a really bad feeling, I started to enjoy the benefits of nofap then shit happened

One relapse just don’t mean everything is over bro it’s only over when you stick in chaser effect and back to normal lifestyle. Beat the next highest streak best of luck

I know it brother, but since then I relapse almost everyday , several times a day because of chaser effect. So I lost my progress sadly.
Thanks man!

First of all, I want to acknowledge the progress you made with that 86-day streak. That’s impressive, and it shows that you are capable of making significant changes. Relapses, especially after long periods of success, can be tough and disheartening, but they don’t erase the progress you’ve made.

It’s completely understandable to feel bad, especially when you’re starting to experience the positive benefits and then something triggers a relapse. The chaser effect can make it harder to stop once you’ve relapsed, but remember, it’s a cycle that can be broken with the right mindset and strategies.

Instead of focusing on the relapse itself, it might be helpful to think about what led to it. You mentioned scrolling reels, which could be a trigger for you. Reflecting on these triggers is a great first step in preventing them in the future. If social media is a significant issue, consider using apps or tools that help limit access to content or even removing it temporarily.

Also, keep in mind that recovery isn’t linear. It’s okay to experience setbacks, but what matters is getting back up and continuing forward. Don’t let this one relapse define you or take away the positive momentum you’ve built up. Acknowledge it, learn from it, and keep moving forward.

What’s important now is your mindset—remember that relapsing doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It’s part of the process. Focus on your long-term goals and remember the benefits you were experiencing. You’ve already shown you can reach a strong streak, and you can do it again.

Be kind to yourself in this process @TheSeeker.

Thanks man, I appreciate. Your words are kind and professional.

I have tried blockers but they were useless, if I wanted to relapse I could. So I deleted them and I reached 86 days without them. My mind has to be the only blocker.
But yes one relapse can break everything, and now I have to find a way out of this again…

If Instagram leads you to relapse then don’t use it. If you don’t eradicate the cause of your problem and just ignore it, the urges will get stronger and stronger.

Stay focused bro, falling off high streaks is even the worst, you even fall deeper into the habit, your brain may trick you into thinking “if I did it, I can repeat it again easily” but that’s not the case usually after the chaser effect is too strong and you end up binging, before you even know it, you back in a 1, 2,3 days cycle .I talk this from experience , don’t lose focus.

So true , Last year in November when I completed 60+ Days and i just relapsed out of curiosity seeing what would happen if I relapse one last time like I will make 65 Days again it’s just a matter of time.

But no , after relapsing in November i struggled during December even in January by the time it took me several months to gain control over multiple relapses.

Now I’m again going to complete 60 Days and will never going to relapse out of curiosity.

It feels worse relapsing after a long streak thankfully i didn’t hitted myself due to anger.

All it takes is the right mindset, being aware of all triggers and the perfect balance of tools that help you on streaks and allow you to make a breakthrough, its important to stay focused right from day 1 so you don’t fall back to this state, if you achieve a high streak.

A stark warning for sure man. Really, really appreciated. I know it all too well, and the fact that yo I thought that I could “just recover” hurt me badly too. A pride comes before a fall as they say. Hubris kills.

@jarjar you are absolutely right. Complete focus on your thoughts at the very closest level.
