Yes brother. Lets keep today as a trial day, since getting back to studying those many hours with focus after a week’s break is kind of hard for me today. But I’ll still try as much as I can. We can give it 100% from tomorrow, but today is not a break either. So, lets give our best.

7 hours of study
Exercise
Meditation
Journaling
Read a few pages of a self-improvement book
No unproductive internet and media usage

Study the Bible
Clean my room
Complete Orthopedics preparation
Complete surgery preperation
Read 15 pages from a self-help book

Currently my ability to work on myself physically has reduced. I must work more on my mindset and knowledge now. It is certainly been a depressing few days for me, as an athlete, but with this post I mark the end of giving myself excuses to not do my best with what I have.

Tentative timeline for me (will modify after meeting my doctor):
Nov 15 - will be able to use right hand normally again
Nov 16 - will consult the doctor about sprint training and plyometrics, if cleared for that I will start those
Dec 15 - end of 3rd year of medical school, will return home and train from there as well as study for exams
Jan 15 - can start physiotherapy by Jan (latest) for my shoulder
Feb 15 - can slowly start getting back into the gym and basketball

well perhaps things may not go this way. They may go better or worse. But writing this down has helped clear my mind.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

Glad to see you back here, my warrior. Lets get back on getting better with whatever we have. You always inspire me to work hard as well.

Today, I’ll fill all the forms and complete September current affairs as well as newspaper and a mock test.

From tomorrow, I’ll update two things, first the status of my daily tasks, plus one daily target, one weekly target and one monthly target.

Glad to see your timeline. Getting inspired from you, I have set my own timeline for things as well:

Oct 20:
P: Restart light exercise and running.
S: Study with deep focus for 5 hrs everyday, in addition to solving one mock/pyp of both the exams (target- PSC- 100/200, RPF-SI- 90/120). Finish current affairs, economics, and modern history.

Oct 30:
P:Start running outdoors, increase study hours to 6 hrs everyday.
S:Finish Polity and Geography. Revise Economics and Modern history. Continue with mocks and pyps (target- reach around cutoff marks in both the exams. PSC- 120/200; RPF- SI- 95/120).

Nov 10:
P: Regain my flexibility, strength and stamina. Increase the intensity of running and plyometrics. Begin lifting weights again.
S:Take study hours to 8. Finish current affairs, ancient and Medieval history. Revise Polity, Geography. Continue with mocks and pyps (target- consistently score higher than cutoff. PSC- 130/200; RPF SI- 105/120).

Nov 20:
P:Complete targets for physical test (Run 1 mile in 5 minutes, Long Jump- 12 metres, High Jump- 4 feet).
S: Continue studying 8 hrs a day. Finish revising Complete History, Economics and current affairs again. Mocks and PYPs (PSC- 140/200; RPF-SI- 110/120).

Nov 30/ RPF SI exam date:
P: Increase intensity of my exercises. Get better at running and jumping for physical test.
S: Take study hours to 10. Finish revising Geography, Polity and current affairs again. Update current affairs. Revise all the tricks and concepts for RPF-SI exam. Mocks and PYPs (PSC- 150/200; RPF-SI- 115/120).

Dec 10/ PSC exam date
P: Continue increasing the intensity, speed and difficulty of my exercises, reaching my physical peak.
S: Continue with 10 hrs of studies in deep focus. Revise all the subjects again. Mocks/PYPs (PSC- 160/200).

I’m not planning beyond that right now, perhpas my targets are too ambitious but I will give my best to achieve them and grow consistently. Probably won’t be able to finish all my tasks today, but here is my list of daily tasks:

Sleep and wake up early
Yoga for healing
Meditation
Journalling
Mock/PYP
Skin care

Today’s targets
Fill application forms of various exams.

  • Did not use my time well at all today; mostly due to the depressive mood I feel since I can’t play or exercise at the moment. Wasted a lot of time.
  • well, it’s true that you need to accept your feelings. I’ve allowed enough time for myself to wallow in this self-pity, I cannot use it as an excuse anymore
  • The doctor said I’ll have to continue keeping the shoulder immobilizer for another 2 weeks. Hopefully by November start I’ll be able to use my right hand again and start physio
  • My relationship with God is not where I want it to be. I need to be more diligent and responsible.
  • I’ve to accept that I won’t be able to do the activities that I could do before at least for a bit. What I really need to understand is that this handicap is temporary, but if I continue to give myself excuses and let myself slide all the way down the effects will be PERMANENT and will affect me even when I get back to health and on the court
  • In the mean time, I will set an alternate set of daily tasks.

@PrDr do you want to start another 21 days challenge? From tomorrow till 9 Nov?

I know we keep starting and stopping but we’re both busy people, life happens. It’s the consistency that matters. Perhaps this time we will reach 21 days.

I’ll update my daily tasks list as well and edit the scoreboard once again. If you’'re not able to this week we can start from Monday instead, just let me know :+1:

:bulb: New Goals

Spent time with God
Meditated for 10 minutes
Wrote 250 words of creative writing
Watched at least 3 coaching videos
Did not play bgmi
Updated on the challenge thread
Took supplements

Brother, I am always here for you. Your well-being means everything to me. I understand what you are going through. Take your time. Make some easy goals for now and try to achieve them everyday. I’m here with you brother. Do not feel down. Its just a bad phase of life. It’ll pass.

That literally clenched your heart :smiling_face_with_tear:, mainly because you are an great athelete and a fitness freak. But don’t worry, the best you can do is wait & take care of yourself and we will pray for both of you to get well asap. I am sure you will be consistent after recovering, like you have always been bhai!

And you are planning to meditate, great bhai, for these 2 weeks train your brain more , seen that you weren’t meditating that much, so it’s the time to be more mindful. And the winter arc is still there almost 72 days left, and this arc also about training our brain , touchwood you are already determined and persistent, so focus on the things that you can do , even having a regular habit of meditation will be great .

And you will still have 50-60 days to transform yourself after recovery :muscle:! You won’t lose much muscle during this period and you will come back in form after training for 10 days !!!

appreciate the kind words brother.
I doubt I can get back to training this year. In the best possible scenario, maybe I can start towards the start of December. But I’m not sure. Either way, I gotta lock-in.

I’ll let you know about joining the mediation challenge. I don’t use the forum much these days due to difficulty with typing as you might have guessed.

Just a suggestion try visualisation meditation, with a soothing and suitable meditation music and visualise yourself getting better , visualise all those emotions and satisfaction that you get while playing and working out, visualise yourself getting healthy again.

Appreciate it.
I don’t do this type of meditation. I’m a Christian and this isn’t something I do. But I do either meditate on Bible verse or use apps like headspace etc. But yes will work on disciplining my mind more. I’ve noticed that of late although I subject my body to vigorous discipline, outside of sports and gym my mind hardly is as disciplined as I’d like it to be. Got to work on that.

I’m glad you mentioned that, man. I had recently suffered from various medical issues, including the recent incidents that I shared here. And I used this technique of meditation, affirmation, positive thinking and belief, and I’m seeing myself getting cured much quicker than anyone had anticipated. @debellator you are a top class athlete, try visualization and I believe that you will heal quicker than doctors are saying just like its happening with me. More than visualization, believe in the fact that it’ll happen. Its not easy to have these things in tough times, but try to think positive, stay positive. I have read this book β€œThe Secret”, which helped me learn a few things about struggles of life in general. There’s also a movie. I believe its on youtube. I’ll share it here. Do watch it if you can.

I could not find the English version of the actual 2006 film, but I’ve found Hindi version and Tamil Version of the actual movies, as well as English Version of The Metasecret (another movies by same makers on the same concept). I believe Hindi and Tamil versions have English subtitles.
The Meta Secret (English Version)

The Secret (Hindi Version)

Sorry to ask , but you can’t do visualisation meditation or method!? Just asking because I am curious one more Christian brother said he can’t do such meditations , they meditate on the word of the Lord !

I’ve come across this ideology before and I’ve thought about it a lot. For several years. Used to follow it but I’ve stopped. I definitely agree that visualisation helps and I still do visualization before my games in order to channel my nervous energy into excitement and get into the flow state. But I don’t follow the Law of Attraction.

Its not about law of attraction or anything, its just that you use it to heal faster brother. It did help me a lot this week, and I believe it will help you as well. I have used the same technique the year when I suffered from dengue, and healed within 2-3 days from a stage which takes others weeks. You are even fitter and more active than me, so you can definitely try it. No harm in trying, right?

I apologise for sharing something different from your faith
But brother Ho’oponopono is a religion neutral exercise to induce human consciousness into us
It was actually found in Spain first
And then spread throughout the world
You can try that
I find it extremely blissful to listen and meditate
But then when you have bible in your hands, you don’t need anyother help. Read Bible daily and share the Religious messages here so that we read it and learn from it too
God bless you   Amen  :raised_hands:

Yep. Not that we can’t do, but we choose not to do.

If you are interested, it is because Christians are (according to our beliefs) filled with the Holy Spirit. So our goal is to attune our hearts and minds to the will of Christ and do what He desires.

The process of meditation is (most importantly) emptying the mind. No thoughts. Like the phrase, Idle mind is the devil’s workshop. NOT saying meditation is that, but emptying the mind isn’t something Christian’s practice. A lot of people who meditate and empty the mind speak about seeing other things or conversing with people etc. We can go more in detail if you like, I have some free time right now. The responsibility of the Christian is to live a God-filled life and take all their thoughts captive and listen to Christ. Not empty the mind. I hope you understand.

no harm trying it, I definitely don’t deny the power of subconscious. But it’s not a superpower that can be used just like that. If that was the case, it was be abused a whole lot more often. All lucid dreamers would have unlimited power.

what I mean to say is there may be a lot of confounding factors in between that one is not aware about. But having the right mindset and working towards it will always help regardless.

Yes brother, I agree. Its not something miraculous. Just that it helps us stay in the positive state of mind and do the right thing, live the right way. Positive thoughts and behaviour do make recovery quicker. I have seen many top level athletes recover quicker than what doctors had anticipated, and I believe you are on that level as well, just that post-injury depression does not affect your life, like it was doing with me.
