Brother, donโ€™t be disheartened. We all know what to do and what not to do. Still, we stumble. I have been fapping from last 4 yrs. During lows, I feel that there must be something else beyond my knowledge thatโ€™ll help me stop pmo forever. But believe me we all know what we can do to stop this. The real thing is to indulge in self-improving activities and keeping your discipline as the highest priority of life. When i maintain discipline, urges come. But I donโ€™t give in to them. When Iโ€™m out of discipline, namely not completing what I intend to do daily, urges gain power over me. Hope you can beat pmo this time by making discipline a true friend of yours.

Structuring a Routine of Habits Based on the Book Atomic Habits

  1. Understand the Concept of Atomic Habits

    • James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits, argues that small, consistent changes lead to big transformations. Each habit, no matter how small, has a cumulative impact over time. The key is to build habits that are easy to adopt and maintain.
  2. The Four Steps of Habit Formation

    • Clear presents a four-step model for creating or changing habits:
      • Cue: The trigger that initiates the behavior.
      • Craving: The motivation you have to take action.
      • Response: The action or habit itself.
      • Reward: The positive outcome that follows the habit, encouraging its repetition.
  3. The Two-Minute Rule

    • One of the most powerful concepts in the book is simplifying habits as much as possible. The two-minute rule suggests that any new habit should be so simple that it takes no more than two minutes to complete. This removes initial resistance and makes consistency easier.
  4. Use Your Environment to Your Advantage

    • Clear suggests that your environment plays a crucial role in habit formation. Modify your surroundings to make adopting new habits easier. For example, if you want to read more, keep books accessible and visible in different places.
  5. Habit Stacking

    • The โ€œhabit stackingโ€ technique consists of adding a new habit right after an already established habit. This makes it easier to remember and repeat. Example: โ€œAfter I have my coffee, I will do 10 minutes of stretching.โ€
  6. Track Your Progress

    • Monitoring the execution of your habits can be a great motivational tool. Use a calendar, app, or even a journal where you mark the days you completed your habit. Seeing your progress visually will encourage you to keep going.
  7. Pursue Constant Improvement

    • The book suggests a mindset of โ€œ1% better every day.โ€ Small adjustments in the execution of habits, when added up, result in significant gains over time. The key is a commitment to continuous improvement, not immediate perfection.
  8. Create Immediate Rewards

    • For a habit to stick, it needs to generate a reward. Even if the final reward takes time (like losing weight or learning a skill), itโ€™s important to create immediate rewards that keep you motivated, such as celebrating the completion of a small goal.
  9. Cultivate an Identity Related to the Habit

    • Instead of focusing solely on the results you want to achieve, focus on the person you want to become. Adopt the identity of someone who has that habit. For example, instead of thinking โ€œI want to read more,โ€ think "I am a person who reads every day.

Topic: Feeling Lost in Youth: Advice and Strategies

Introduction
Many young people go through periods where they feel lost, unsure of which path to take in life. This feeling is common and can arise from various reasons, such as the pressure to choose a career, dealing with changes, or searching for a sense of purpose. Feeling lost isnโ€™t a sign of weakness but a starting point for self-discovery and growth.

1. Embrace the Phase of Uncertainty

First, itโ€™s essential to understand that feeling lost is part of lifeโ€™s journey. Uncertainty can be uncomfortable, but it also offers the opportunity to explore new possibilities. The pressure to โ€œhave everything figured outโ€ can create unnecessary anxiety.

  • Strategy: Instead of trying to rush for answers, allow yourself to experiment with different paths. Be curious, open to new ideas, and accept that life doesnโ€™t always follow a linear plan.
  • Reference: Mark Manson, author of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck*, talks about how failure and doubt are essential to personal growth.

2. Connect with Your Purpose

Although finding a purpose may seem like a significant challenge, it can be defined as something that energizes and satisfies you. It doesnโ€™t need to be a grand life goal right away, but a step that aligns with your interests.

  • Strategy: Ask yourself questions like: โ€œWhat excites me?โ€, โ€œWhat activities make me lose track of time?โ€ Self-awareness is built through action.
  • Reference: Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life explores the idea of finding a simple purpose that brings satisfaction to everyday life.

3. Seek Support and Mentors

Feeling lost can often be eased by talking to others who have been through the same. Mentors, friends, and even family can offer new perspectives you might not see on your own.

  • Strategy: Be willing to share your uncertainties and accept advice. A support network can help demystify your concerns and give clarity on your decisions.
  • Reference: In Dare to Lead, Brenรฉ Brown discusses how vulnerability and openness to genuine connections can transform how we live.

4. Challenge the Fear of Failure

Fear of failure is one of the biggest reasons we feel stuck. Failing is part of the learning process. Whatโ€™s important is how you respond to your mistakes.

  • Strategy: Instead of avoiding failure, embrace it as a chance to learn. Start with small risks and treat setbacks as valuable lessons.
  • Reference: In Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, Carol Dweck explains the growth mindset, where mistakes are seen as opportunities for growth.

5. Set Small Goals

Often, the feeling of being lost comes from trying to solve everything at once. By setting small goals, you make the process more manageable and less overwhelming.

  • Strategy: Rather than focusing on one big final goal, break it down into smaller steps. Gradual progress builds confidence and offers direction.
  • Reference: Atomic Habits by James Clear explores how consistent small habits can lead to significant changes over time.

6. Take Care of Your Well-being

When feeling lost, itโ€™s easy to neglect self-care. However, your physical and mental health is the foundation of any progress you want to make.

  • Strategy: Maintain a basic self-care routine, such as getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising. Activities like meditation or nature walks can also help clear your mind.
  • Reference: The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod emphasizes how a positive morning routine can transform your mindset and productivity.

Conclusion

Feeling lost in youth is a natural phase that can be turned into a powerful journey of self-discovery. With the right strategies, patience, and support, you can use this period of uncertainty to find clarity and growth.

Day 13/30.

Life becomes active if you donโ€™t wqste your time in pmo. I can remember that after each relapse i lost motivation to do something. I thoight to postpone all tasks of that day and felt miserable. But 13 days in now into nopmo, I feel so much active and motivated to do anything if not sick. However the negative is that, there is loneliness which feels problematic at times. But yeah, this time Iโ€™ll cross 30 days mark inshaAllah for the 2nd time in my life.
