Check in Day 7
7/90
Been having strong urges the past 2 days . But we’ll remain stronger!
Mission 3: Biggest triggers and how they will be prevented.
• Instagram, Reddit, Tik Tok
I have downloaded an app called Detoxify on my phone. I used the app to block Instagram, Reddit and Tik Tok. I also downloaded the Spin web browser which blocks anything that is pornographic or too sexual.
• A sexual scene on Netflix, TV or YouTube
I no longer watch TV or Netflix. I only use YouTube occasionally. I will probably stop using YouTube altogether just in case.
• Stress, anxiety or anger/frustration
An ice cold shower always helps with this. So if any stress, anxiety or anger starts coming up, I’ll go straight into an ice cold shower.
You should complete Mission 3. You need to write down your biggest triggers and how you will prevent these triggers. What safeguards have you put in place to make sure that it is very difficult to relapse.
Day 7 cheak in
My biggest trigger is media.
I will prevent this with not to sleep alone at afternoon in my room or I will not close the windows and door.
Day 7 in check
Mission 3:Reasons that lead me to relapse and how will I prevent it
1.Social media
Already deleted all my social media expect for YouTube for study purpose.
2.Being alone
When I’m alone I do activity which requires high concentration.
Day 7 Check IN!!
Mission 3 reporting:
Major Triggers:
Prevention:
Mission 3
I still haven’t figured out how to deal with all my triggers, but so far:
1)Being alone and having lots of stress/strong emotions/negative thoughts
-I have detoxify and focusme installed on my phone and laptop. I use detoxify to filter out a lot of the bad content and focus me to block access to apps/browsers that I need to use during the day, but which I must avoid during “alone” hours (nights, early mornings)
-I recently downloaded this rewire companion app as additional support.
-Also talking to someone does help reduce the stress and negative thoughts.
2)Scenes and images in the media (from TVs, phone, social media, etc…)
-I cut off the ability to use the TV in my room
-I deleted and deactivated my social media accounts and got used to living without them.
-YouTube is still a problem for me as well, because there is so much benefit I could get from it, but its also one of the main triggers at the moment.
-I still have an issue with things like Google images and randomly scrolling my phone with no purpose, which can be very bad if I already have strong urges. I would appreciate it if anyone has suggestions for these.
-Ideally getting rid of my smartphone will make things a lot easier, but unfortunately life has become reliant on your access to a smartphone and internet
