It’s a brilliant book my friend. I just finished reading it earlier this month. I advise anyone on this journey to read that book. It clarifies why it’s so difficult to break free from an addiction to pornography by explaining the science behind how our brains work and how we become addicted to behaviours. It also highlights many different symptoms people have experienced unawares as a result of their addiction, and provides reassurance that these symptoms will go away after months of abstaining. Moreover, it includes strategies and methods which other people have successfully used to quit pornography for good.

I posted a summary here on the forum if you’re interested.

Agree with @Forerunner, read it years ago and it basically built the foundation of my knowledge about online pornography addiction.

Nice to know fact ist that the APA, the American Psychatrist Association, although it hasn’t classified online pornography addicition as an behavioural disorder, has at least proposed further study by now. So it may be an officially classified addicition in the future, which may improve treatment options.

Damn, haven’t noticed this! Thank you, chief, gonna read it!
I started to get interested in the book after I’ve read the book “The Brain That Changes Itself” by Norman Doidge about the neuro-plasticity of our brain, and there where a brilliant chapter in it about ■■■■ addiction and problematic sexual behaviours, thought i dive in deeper into the subject with the Wilson book! Thanks guys for your replies :raised_hands::ok_hand:

Well Gents, I’ve just finished the book and I have only one thing to say: GAME-CHANGER.
There’s even a quote in it that suits the situation:
“It’s unbelievable how rebooting can open someone’s eyes. I think now I understand the saying ‘knowledge is power’. As soon as you realize how something works and what its effect on you, you can more easily gather strenght to change.”

@Elendil I got The Brain that Changes Itself on Audible! Finished listening to it - that book was fantastic! The brain really can change and be repaired. We truly can undo the damage the addiction has caused us.

Thank you for sharing brother!

@Forerunner So glad, my man! I think it’s a complementary reading to the Gary Wilson book. Amazing what the human brain can do, if “we put our mind to it” haha :grinning:

Gary Wilson changed the NoFap game for me btw. Previously i could never go above 10 days and around that time i got super frustrated. I’m currently on day 31, almost effortless. When an urge hits me i know what’s happening, cause i understand the precision-mechanics of my addiction. Gary’s book IS a game-changer. Put me on the stand for i can testify to that under oath! #knowledgeisPOWER :books::open_book::zap::fire::tornado:
