March 26
Day 1 a new beginning!
I’m restarting with a ton motivation!! I failed yesterday and as always when I fail something has to change. From now on, every time I fail I have to put $5 in a bag. I have a friend who is also doing nofap. When Christmas comes he will get to keep 1/2 of any money in the bag by then and the other 1/2 he will give to a charity of his choice.

Day 2
I’m locked in and ready to take on this day. Although I keep failing, I am building good habits and learning about myself along the way. Every time I stumble is a learning experience and a chance to adapt. A chance to start fresh and see what I am made of. This journey is not a sprint. I have a bad habit of comparing myself to others. I’m in a fight against myself. Everyday, I need to be better than I was the day before.

Day 3
My last add on to discipline was to breath with my nose instead of my mouth. While I have come a long way, I still have much improvement before I nose breath automatically. (Probably around 30% nose-70% mouth)This is something that is going to take time as I slowly undue a lifetime of mouth breathing. This 2 weeks add on will be 50 daily push-ups. I need to start building a physical discipline. It’s not a lot, but done daily will encourage me to work out more in my free time.

I’m also making my way through the Quran right now and I find it very interesting. I didn’t know anything about Islam and I don’t know what I expected but it’s not what I thought it would be. There are a lot of references to bible stories and many similarities to my own Christian faith. I’m actually really enjoying reading it. It gives me a whole new light and understanding for much of the world and people in it, that have seemed so distant to me. I know there are a lot of muslims on this forum and I mean this with the utmost respect for you and your beliefs.

Discipline Goals for mind, body and soul!
Mind Goals

  1. Learn a Language
  2. Learn an Instrument
  3. Kinesics (Mentalist)understanding Body language
  4. Master apologetics -understand and be able to prove the existence of God and not just feel it. through philosophy, science, metaphysics

Body Goals

  1. Muscle up
  2. Hand stand push up
  3. “Bring sally up” pushup challenge
  4. 1000lb club
  5. Run a Marathon
  6. Complete a Murph (1 mile run, 100pull-ups, 200 push-ups,300 squats, 1 mile run with 20lb under 60 min)

Soul Goals

  1. Purity of heart
  2. Stop sinning entirely
  3. Master scripture (the word of God)
  4. Endure a 7 day fast (nothing but water)
  5. Build a deep personable relationship with God

Even if thats your goal, its inhumane. I don’t know if anyone in this world could do that! 300 squats? There’s no way. That will be the death for your legs especial when you also run a marathon. You can do little at first. And advance slowly. Gradually increasing the number. Having short term goals motivates you forward when you achieve them.

I appreciate your concern brother. I also understand the confusion. These are big separate goals for myself that I would like to accomplish one day but By no means do I plan on doing them the same day.
Every 2 weeks I add a little more discipline to my life and repost my goals to remember them. Over time I hope to accomplish these separate tasks

(Also the murph doesn’t have to be done all at once. You just have to get the reps in. People usually break it up into 5pull ups, 10pushup, 15 squats X 20)

Day 4
I’m feeling really motivated and not just with nofap but in all areas of my life. The desire to push myself and see what I’m made of, is starting to kick in. I’m currently looking for work but there are so many things I want to do with my life that it feels a little bit overwhelming.

Just praying for guidance and wisdom. My life is a little chaotic but I trust that God is in charge and He will provide.

Day 5
In this loud and busy life, I want to spend this Sunday in peace and connect to my family as much as possible. I’m going to allow myself to check my phone only 2x today and for no more than a total of 15minutes. I have the day off so there is no reason for me to waste time staring at a screen when I could be playing with my 1year old son and enjoying my wife’s company.

The more I read your journals and hear abt your family, the more I feel for you in this situation. I plead and beg to God for your deliverance, as well as many other ppl here. We all have good intentions here to help each other, and I just hope we all get the blessing of breaking the shackles in this prolonged imprisonment of our bodies. Much prayer. Day 10 double digits!
Last week I added 50 daily push-ups to my life and it is going really well. I can now do 30 without having to take a break which is pretty good for me. I’m also starting to want to workout more. I’m going to continue going into week 2 of my discipline addd on.

Day 12

I have been doing push-ups daily and I’m going to see what I can do. Slowly working towards my Murph goal. Going to try a short workout.

I’m going to doing 10 push-ups and then 15 squats. I will try to do as many sets of this as I can in 20 minutes.
