And what is strange about that?

The advantage is so simple, mam. ■■■■ is bad which will give you bad things in your life. We can’t say we get good things in our life. But we are definitely sure that bad things won’t come into the life as this factor is removed and with constant productive routine, you will also attract a lot of good things in your life.

No. Abstaining has no relation with recovering. But abstaining forever is a result of full recovery, but not the cause. Abstaining for a certain amount of time means that you haven’t figured it out yet, that something went wrong with the equation.

You see, when we try to get rid of this addiction, we mostly resist it while counting our streak, in other words, we count how much it has been since our last “session” thinking that the more time passes while fighting urges, urges might disappear and we recover. Actually, it’s not exactly the case.

The issue relies with mindset. This addiction effects the mind more than the body. So it is only by mastering the mind that we truly recover. Recovery can be on day 1, 100, 10 000. It doesn’t matter. One example is me. I consider myself recovered from this addiction 2 weeks ago on day 3. Right now I’m on day 18 or something like that.

The hack was that I believed, not knew, believed that I don’t need ■■■■ for whatsoever. It is something in the past that I left behind for good so there is no reason to even think about it or to think about how I should react when urges hit.

You can say I reprogrammed my mind to not like my addiction, no, not care about it even. I built a strategy of mastering my reason which is the opponent of instinct. Reason was to got to the gym for this period of time, I went there. Reason was not to eat too much unhealthy food, I ate healthy food and so on. I made my brain understand that when urges for temporary comfort hit, there are other ways that are better, that provides me longer one and works just fine! This helped me be able to master my mind and be able to do what I think is right.

Now I must tell you, 2 years is impressive a lot. You might have had this mindset as well. Like on your day 73 (example), you were in a state where you believed that addiction is behind and recovery will come. But it was actually waiting for recovery that made you fall 2 years later. For 2 years you thought your brain that the result is not here yet. Everything was going fine until suddenly you were surprised to get urges. Everyone gets urges actually even I did before discovering this addiction also! You took a decision to do it in the end.

It was because you believed at that time that you needed it. You used it as a tool to get urges away. Your mind was not that strong, your reason was weaker because you did not teach it to do what you think is right and not do what seems as useless.

I hope I was clear cause I’m not really a good explainer  but anywho,

Welcome to the Rewire Companion Forum, sis!

Thank you for advice. Now i did several steps.

1.install antivirus with parents control on my phone (i don’t use notebook or computer)

  1. Forbidd any adult sites. This rule can be removed with my password with is hard to remember since its 10 numbers.
  2. Deleted my password from antivirus from any notes.

I hope it will help a bit.

Be grounded, not saying you are rude , I meant don’t fall in the pseudo trap of confidence that our mind creates, like “you have come this far check how strong you have became , peek or edge it won’t affect you” , mind plays such games sometimes , don’t give in and don’t listen to it . Since you already had 2 years streak, I am damn sure you can leave this forever. Have the right mindset, you will be free from it forever.

Regarding its benefits, I know few people who can help you , @drago (1500+ days streak :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: ) @Brahmchary (around 150 days streak :fire::fire:) @_TIGER(had 300+ days streak :fire::fire:) @The_Ambitious_One (had 250 days streak :fire::fire:) , could you guys share your experience of abstaining from it for longer time!

All the best for your journey ahead mam! We all are counting on you!!!
