It’s normal for getting those types of thoughts but you have to control them that’s the key. Urges come from thoughts of being alone and wanting to be embraced by someone. But that lacking causes masturbation. Keeping oneself busy by doing positive work is the only method I know of.

I’m 27 years old, have been fighting with this addiction for so damn long. My primary advice is, really, please stop fapping permanently! Do you know why it’s called “fap” in the first place? It’s actually abbreviation for “forever alone pleasure”, you know how this leads to, right?
Fapping, combined with adult videos are creating “false intimacy”. Because when we do that, we feel like we just like have imaginary instant and easy sex with the women in the videos, while in reality, just like you mentioned earlier, it’s not easy to get women. But that’s the natural and normal way! Getting to really know someone and getting close to them takes efforts and time, and it’s hard, and actually it’s harder for men who consume adult videos and fapping regularly because of that “false intimacy”.
This “false intimacy” is hard to explain because it’s complicated, but, just our brain can’t actually understand the difference between real and imagined things or activity, for example, have you ever watched a horror movies? I bet you have a few times. It’s scary, right? But we all know that the ghosts are fake! It’s the same with adult videos and fapping. But we kind of like feel we just have sex with the women in the videos while in reality it’s just us and our hands.
That’s one thing, the other thing is, it’s good that you have found your way here so as an older man I want to tell you something important: women are not objects. Women are not only sexual tools to satisfy us men. They’re human beings just like us, they have feelings, emotions, personality, they have sex preference too, and they can be beautiful and great companions!
So the more you look and treat them as fellow human beings like us, the more you can get tons and tons of attraction from them. But if you treat them like objects, it won’t do any good for your relationship in the long run, and women will hate such a man.
Sex is only part of life! Not the other way around! You will be destroyed if you only focus on having sex with tons of women, but feel free to have lots of female friends, personally I do have lots of female close friends and I don’t look at them as sex objects. Those adult videos are ruining men’s perspective of women and destroying normal and healthy relationship and friendship!
So instead of focusing on only sex, try to learn how to build healthy emotional connection with people, especially with women if you want, these kind of relationships will definitely feel more fulfilling in the long term instead of having free sex here and there, yeah but it’s your life, it’s just my opinion and you have to experience it yourself to understand and as you get older you will get wiser and smarter.
But you can definitely have a girlfriend and have sex with her! It’s your choice, but please don’t treat her badly, and respect her choices and opinion.
And if you ask, is it normal? It’s totally normal to have sexual urges! The point is not totally having no urges at all but how you respond to the sexual urges. How you make your relation to your urges. Like, if I were to say harshly, it’s like: we need to be able to control what makes us a man, that’s actually our dick, right? We can’t properly be a healthy confident man if we’re totally controlled by our own lust.
Basically, those sexual urges are just energy in the body. We can channel it by doing something more positive like some work out, or studying, especially because you’re still young, I suggest you to learn as much as you want!
About female attraction, I have a beautiful analogy that I can share here: consider you want to attract butterflies, what will you do? It will be tiring and too much effort and also difficult to catch them one by one with your hands, so what’s the better way? You make a beautiful garden! You plant lots of flowers, water them everyday, give them nutrition, and those flowers will automatically attract the butterflies on their own! It’s the same with female attraction! The more you build yourself, (it can be your body, your personality, your brain), the more female attraction you will get. So focus on yourself, invest more in yourself, and showing your authentic self is the best way to get attraction from females.
And, if you ask is masturbating normal? For me, it doesn’t matter. Just like smoking, or drinking alcohol, just because lots people do it, and it’s considered normal, doesn’t always mean that you should do it, right? Your future self will definitely thank you if you totally stop masturbating and watch adult videos. Trust me. You can look at all the post here in the forum and in the message board, right?
