How to deal with wet dreams?

I’ve been using this app to quit porn but I’m considering going full PMO-free now. My only hesitation is wet dreams, which I only get when I don’t masturbate semi-frequently (I’m 21, so well past puberty) . I hate having wet dreams because it feels like peeing the bed. It’s bad enough at home, but I would absolutely hate having one when I’m sleeping somewhere else.

I understand that wet dreams are a natural way for the body to release old sperm, but I’d like avoid them as much as possible, or at least find better ways to deal with them. My question is for people who are successfully PMO-free, how do you handle wet dreams? Are there methods you’ve found to reduce the frequency, or deal with the outcome?

You can reduce their frequency by not fantasizing. You can also ensure you wake up early-most wet dreams occur when you wake up after 7am.

Wet dreams aren’t an issue-think about it this way-

  • You either get wet dreams occasionally
    Or
  • You decide to continue masturbating, mess up your brains reward system, are stuck with addiction that unnaturally zaps you of energy and testosterone and you lack confidence.

What would you choose?

Sorry, can’t help with the sleeping with others part (I sleep alone always) but I’m sure they’d understand if you had a wet dream. You’d be surprised at how understanding they’d be, since it’s only a natural process, nothing to be ashamed of.

Thanks for the response. You’re right that I probably need to change the way I think about them. I will work on not fantasizing for now

Find a way to distract yourself. Playing a competitive videogame is a good way of taking your mind off of Porn. My recommendation (if you have a Switch) would be Tetris 99. Tetris is already a game of focus and strategy, but now you have to play against 100 people, which requires you to be just as alert as your components. The game takes up all of your brain power and soon enough, you’ll forget why you were aroused in the first place. Another thing I’d recommend is watching a video that discomforts you. My recommendation would be tarantula feeding videos because they’re so creepy and arachnophia inducing that it will scare your urge away.

Another option would be barricading yourself from your urges completely. Stay away from the room that you relapse in and move you leisure time in a playroom or study if you have one.
