“The_Rising_One” noticed that an account that was previously suspended had its name changed to “anon.” This likely happened because, after the suspension, the account was anonymized, either at the user’s request or due to inactivity. So while the account was first suspended (which keeps the username visible), the anonymization later replaced the username with “anon.”
How Anonymization Works:
Once an account is anonymized:
The username changes to a random “anon” with numbers.
The posts remain but are no longer attributed to the real user.
It is irreversible. Once anonymized, the account cannot be restored to the original user.
This explains why the username switched to “anon” despite the previous suspension—after suspension, the account was anonymized to preserve forum content without associating it with the user.
