Financial literacy đź’°

As we know having good amount of money solves most of the problems for people belonging to middle class or lower middle class families.

I am 21 yrs old from engineering field. But I know how important it is to have knowledge about finance. I have very little to no knowledge regarding stocks, places to invest money, how market works and things related to business.

So I want to gain knowledge about it so that I can put my money in the right place. I want the fellow RC users to share their knowledge regarding this domain and possibly tell me how can I start trading/investing/saving from a small scale as a student.

Bro before entering in trading beware of scammers & chapri or majdoor traders.

If u are from india
Check out varsity by zerodha app
U can login through mail if u dont have zerodha account

Now coming to investment
It depends on amount of capital

U can either go for share holding
Intraday trading
Swing trading
Futures and options
Currency

Thats all i know about currently
If u have recurring income then go for sip (mutual funds ) where every month u invest some amount

Never refer any one
I previously used to watch youtube videos but didnt invest
And i noticed how wrong things go

Also if u are doing intraday
Never even trust newspaper or media
Because out of all the stocks they suggest for that day intraday
95% of them will go opposite of what they tell
So beware
U just need to figurre out what works for u
It took me 4 months and 2k loss to figure out my strategy
Finally recovered loss of 500
So take time and learn

For beginner i think swing trading is better option, try to understand the market , build psychology, learn proper risk management, learn risk/reward ratios … I blew my accounts couple of times … Just because i trade randomly no risk management, pure bull_shi_t trade execution … I lost near 200$ in crypto. I have learned so many things by those mistakes… now i m trying to educate myself in this sector.

I wont suggest crypto
As the is no regulation to it
So better start with stocks

What’s the minimum amount needed to start trading/buy stocks in that app?

See varsity is just to learn
If u need to invest u need to know what is a broker and who are depositories
Even before u start investing learn what is stock market and how does it affect the price and then open a demat account with a broker
And u can start trading with 100 rs
But i would suggest minimum 1000
Its better if its 5000+ considering 3% minimum return on capital per trade then u will feel like u earned something …
So first finish the first module of app and u will get basic idea
