Duration of withdrawal symptoms

Hello guys . How are you
I am 23 years old. I am addicted to pornographic films and have had a secret habit for 8 years. An average of 4 hours of viewing per day. My life has literally been ruined. No skills, no education, nothing. In addition to social phobia and lack of relationships. I stopped 10 months ago without any relapse, but I did not feel any improvement. I still suffer from sadness, depression, moodiness, lethargy, and fatigue. And negative thoughts. And anxiety. What bothers me most is brain fog. How long will this last? I don’t want to go to a psychiatrist and rely on medications. Have any of you experienced long operating lines?

Bro if you have been 10 months ■■■■ and maturbation (pmo) free and still have depressing thoughts then they are definitely not pmo related.
Pleaseeeee consider visiting a psychiatrist no matter how bad it feels.
Also try getting exercise more regularly, apart from exercising some kind of spiritual practice or meditation should also be part of your routine.
Try these for a few days maybe things will improve, if not then I told you what to do.

I would also like to add something.
Do not blaim nofap for whatsoever. You are now free from PMO but only bad thoughts or voluntarily decision to FAP will make you relapse and even more depressed.
Now don’t tell me you never felt depression or sadness before you knew PMO. Like @The_integrous_one said

Also listen to a motivating music. It will make you feel better at least for now and start spending more time with your family and loved ones.
All the best!

Do you mean that the current depression is not a withdrawal symptom?

It’s highly unlikely that you’re having withdrawal symptoms after 10 months of abstinence. However, there’s no literature regarding this so nothing can be said with certainty. As already suggested by other users, I think you’ll best benefit from sessions with a good psychologist (not psychiatrist). They might help you understand your situation better and psychologists don’t prescribe medications.

Brother Now you are PMO Free but you are facing negative thoughts anxiety depression I think it’s because of your Past Regrets that you are a failure in your life because of your addiction of PMO So just stop thinking about past I know it’s not going to easy but you need to do something otherwise nothing is going to change So Stay positive You can’t change your past but you can change your future.

Some tips;
•Do some exercises like running in the morning
•Daily talk to one stranger person in Real life even if just for 2 minutes.
• low your internet usage
• Daily read 10 to 20 pages of a book the should be from you can learn something related to your field or self emprovement

Bro it’s my Day 8 add me this is my code- dwtolz

I have experienced exactly what you mentioned there during one long streak , but not for that long , many of them face such things in the starting days ig .But it is not due to nofap if its been 10 months like this . I faced it due to immense stress and fear in my initial days .
Do all the things they mentioned above and also -

try to wake up early if you don’t and meditate at that time
get fresh air every morning or walk/run
don’t use too much screen (it worsens it)
most importantly , let go of the old things that burden you and try to start day with a fresh mind .
Sometimes , its the past which makes you think negative .
Try to socialize , at least talk with your family and friends . It will clear up your mind . Don’t isolate yourself

And yes , don’t hesitate to have counselling through a psychologist . I have had severe brain fog for long too , like 3 - 4 months but I hesitated from telling it to anyone and it left me more fearful and anxious by the time it got away . So do get helppp
