Does anyone know of good Web filters for android?

I’m using k9 on my PC to block search engines, social media and obvious things.
I can only use Google safe search, and created a protonmail account and blocked it.

So I’ll have to use another PC or my android to login to k9

Does anyone know of a good android filter, so I can block web sites of my choice?

Would really appreciate any help and advise.
Peace x

You can use pornaway.it blocks most porn websites and you can also add some websites like reddit, twitter to its blacklist

Pornaway requires root but it is worth rooting your device

In addition to it you can use spin browser

Its for android btw

Thanks for the help chaps! :+1:
Shame about k9 crashing your PC @weir but love your vigour! I’ve modified it perfectly now, nothing ridiculous just practical, so I’m stuck with only Google and can’t get around it without getting a new password to just login

Thank you for the advise on apps @Thedevil that’s exactly what I’m looking for, I just got tired of trying different things, as I know the temptation to start using my phone again for it needs to be dealt with now.

Struggling to find pornaway in GooglePlay
I just want an app that sits in the background, blocks chosen websites and requires an email.

Anybody?

Hi Everyone. I was using this… https://www.pluckeye.net/ Very good one on my laptop ( tough make everything a bit slower ) and I think there is an android version too.

I discover at the end that I prefer to be the blocker. So I stopped to use it. Try it out!

Sadly it’s not what I’m looking for.
I have a Google phone, so chrome is permanently installed.

I’ll just have to practice some stoism for now.

For yoir PC, also try using the 127.0.0.1 to block websites you ised to go on for porn. Just go in your ‘hosts’ file in local hard disk, open the file with note, write 127.0.0.1 thenameofthewebsiteyouwanttoblockhere on a new column. This technique is great if you use windows.
I also use an android device and searched long for what you ask here, but never found it (even though I know a bit about programming and considered even rooting my phone). So honestly, I just disabled google chrome, appstore and youtube from my phone and I’m so much better off. I would really do this if I were this, you will have a lot more free time for truly important things, and you will eventually realise that all that internet thing was not even meaningful to you.
This seems quite radical but believe me, it is the only good way I know of.
Good luck anyway, maybe you will find something perfect for you.

Parental control lite by netspark.
Well I used this app during the initial stages of nofap. It pretty much worked, that was a long time ago, so I don’t remember the complete features, but I remember I installed this one after trying a couple of others, and this had worked for me I used the premium version . You can give it a shot.

Pluckeye was a real game changer for me.
Blocks all images and videos on default. And you have the option to set a delay to add a trusted site so you don’t act while you have an urge.

Same with Samsung.
But you can use a app blocking software. I use “stay focused” to block chrome permanently and block Google play store for most of the week, so that I don’t install any unsafe apps

Thank you for all the info guys.

Kaspersky kids is great!
Email and password verified,
blocks chosen sites, runs in the background,
can be a pain-in-the-arse to uninstall.
And free (at least, so it seems)
Thank you @alexcoz600

Next question ; How does anyone lock restricted mode in YouTube app? :joy:

its not possible yet but you can use youtube kids

Just quit youtube all together. It’s really a website that is not very beneficial to your life in any shape or form
