To give a bit of background, I’ve been struggling with PMO for 4 years now, and whenever I actually overcome it, I fall back in because of fear and anxiety. Too stressed, and I look to ■■■■; too relaxed and I also look to ■■■■. It’s been a fruitless path down to hell, and I would like to ask for some advice on how to cope or heck, overcome fear and anxiety of failing with confidence.
Would much appreciate advice on the topic.
You can start with journaling. Write down what you did on the day and the set what I should have done and shouldn’t have done. Avoid triggers like YouTube Instagram Facebook etc. Be productive in life and gradually decrease your hours on screen.
Thank you, I’ll try on that
What helps me is a 25 minute meditation every day. It does not make the anxiety go away, but it does make it less ‘mine’. I’m more able to let it pass, so to say, instead of letting it drag me further down. So sit for 25 minutes and only focus on the feeling of your breath (look into this technique).
Further, I started running and that seems to dampen the anxiety a bit further, plus it gives a moral boost; a small win for the day. It even seems my heartrate is getting more stable and with that my emotions, so less chance of being swept away by them.
What is left is the boredom for me at the moment, but that is manageable.
Remember, anxiety is a product of low dopamine/ high deltaFosB and therefore a product of PMO. The longer you’ll be able to withhold, the less anxiety you’ll experience.
Keep it up!
