I’ve been free from ■■■■ for several months now, thanks to God, and I’m never going back. We all have our temptations, but I know what it’s like to be addicted. I don’t want anyone to go through the struggle I went through of finding the motivation and courage to quit. If you’re low on willpower or going through a tough time, this will motivate you. I got in-person counseling, which is ultimately what freed me from ■■■■, and the biggest piece of advice my counselor gave me was that each urge only lasts 5-7 minutes. If you get the urge to watch ■■■■, it only lasts 5-7 minutes. (may not actually be true, but it worked on me) In that time, keep yourself busy. I found that listening to music while doing push-ups or something kept me from giving in to the urges. And sure enough, they never lasted as long as I thought they would. If you really want to take it seriously, and you’re at home, I would recommend doing a workout and listening to your favorite songs. (all the songs listed here are on Spotify, so you can make a playlist if you want) Then take a cold shower and keep yourself busy. Whatever you do, don’t just sit and listen to music and hope your urges will go away. I’ve tried it, and it didn’t work. I’m not saying it won’t work for you, but if it didn’t work for me, then it doesn’t have a 100% success rate. You’ve got to get serious and keep yourself busy, while listening to some good music!
This music is all Christian, but even if you’re not a Christian, this music can be very motivating. It helps to know that there are other people going through the exact same situation as you. I hope some of you will find this music helpful! (btw some of these songs are kind of depressing too, and some people might not want to listen to those ones, so I put a mood indicator next to each song)
