Week 19 - Dec 2, Mon - Streak: 99 days

Long day today fixing people’s circuits because I missed the day we built them so I had to help troubleshoot to get my credit. They were basically ear rape devices, just made a terrible screeching noise when they worked. Kind of funny honestly. Too bad I couldn’t have made one and hid that in my sister’s room :joy:

No urges today thank God. Finals are coming up, so I may not be as active. Got to get studying.

Thinking about how much I appreciate you guys and this community. You guys are all amazing! Is it just me or is the mood lightening around here lately? I mean there has been a lot of relapses from people, sure, but it just seems like the community is growing so much and people are learning a lot. This is good stuff.

Night everyone!

This is my streak, I am going to make it.

We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community… Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.

Week 57 ~ Tuesday Day 2

I’m on Day 7 btw :wink::+1::pray::candle:

All good, just about. Thanks be to God for giving me free-will, reason, logic and spiritual gifts

One reason not to lust ~
It takes away spirituality

@Forerunner seems to be riding the waves
I hope it always stays that way, and your resting to be just as fruitful. Amen :candle:

Where as I keep plunging down, to check the bottom of the ocean.

I responded to a heart-warming email today,
Infectiously moved, God-like spirit compelled me to respond to your post @Gk-00
Sadly I didn’t persist

Why?
With lot of ‘should/should-nots’
what should I do?
No pressing work, and lack of order - it was an uneventful day.

I ended up lusting, unconsciously killing that spirit, or not knowing what to do with it.

“He who has little, even that which he has will be taken from him. He who has, more will be given to him”

It tells me of how we have all the time in the world and let it disappear, constantly seeking comfort and never attaining it.

When the person with little time, finds time in abundance, delighting in his tasks and prays never to be without challenge.

Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

I’d played around with ideas involving money :man_facepalming:t2:
Stopped.
~ I searched Google "should I…? "
And found my answer - deep down, I just want a relationship - not fetish or even sex.

I said “Yes” to buying groceries, I’ve got Tai Chi later, so I went and got it done.
Nice new springy nikes on, a quick spray of some chanel to pickup my spirit - I became more attentive and immediate in my purpose.

On my way back, I popped into a euro-shop to get one of those Polish fruit drinks.
There was a little twinkle in the pretty European girl’s eyes after I thanked her and left.
Obviously it wasn’t because I dismissed the 1p change for the 99p drink out of my £1, nor for saying “I’ve got a bag already” holding it up full of groceries for tonight’s supper.

But in my weird way, that little twinkle in her eyes later said to me “well done for not doing it”

No - I don’t want a p*gf,
Nor pay for un-received affection.
A little triumph in my weird way :candle:

If there’s any lesson in today, say “Yes” to others.
Be glad to help people. Never hesitate.
If you’re struggling, ask for help,
Your question may help others :dove:

Ask & Answer.
Don’t leave things until the last minute.
Give thanks for all the little blessings - God is at your side, He wants for you, the things you deeply long for

[Edit]
There’s one more lesson about fluctuating between extremes. A soppy guy getting overly romantic and another guy who is influenced by his ‘p’ habits - both idolising women.

Let’s find some middle ground here :candle:

@Special_Bird That’s very kind of you. I appreciate hearing that my advice is useful, I used to have no clue what I was doing. For the longest time, I felt so helpless and lost on this journey. I want to do whatever I can to alleviate that feeling for others.

@anon67854825 Beautiful share today man, touching message. Thank you for your prayers brother :pray:t5:

“At every stage, addiction is driven by one of the most powerful, mysterious, and vital forces of human existence. What drives addiction is longing — a longing not just of brain, belly or loin, but finally of the heart.”
Cornelius Platinga

That longing. Man. It’s not easy to deal with. And without the false comfort of pornography to dive into., we actually have to confront those deeper emotions in our lives.

I’d been doing well, but today I tried to hide away and bury myself in watching TV shows. But it didn’t work. There is a longing for spiritual fulfilment. For self-improvement. For renewed connection and affection in relationships with loved ones. I want to be present and experience those emotions and continue striving for genuine fulfilment. But thank GOD, at such a time in the past, pornography was the go-to response, and the temptation wasn’t even there today.

Week 19 - Dec 3, Tues - Streak: 100 days!

Reached my first 3 digit number. Feels good!

Today was highly productive. Using the app @Positivebloke recommended awhile back, Goodtime. Seriously has been helping me. Took a couple of days to get used to it. But now I am following it rigidly. Made big headway on my final project.

However, got super distracted before bed and now I am up at 2:29 a.m. I got stuck playing this stupid mobile game which was weird cause I’m not usually one for those kind of things. So can’t start my day off early tomorrow. That’s a real bummer. Really got to follow my set rules about no phone before bed except for journal.

This is my streak, I am going to make it.

It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart.

“Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.”
Zig Ziglar

Everyone has the same amount of time each day, yet we all manage to use it in fantastically different ways. Either improving our lives or making them worse.

What direction am I moving in? If I don’t set a destination, how will I know when I’ve arrived?

It’s time to re-calibrate the GPS and move forward.
