Amen brother! There’s two types of riches. What you talked about today reminded me of the lyrics to a song I once heard:
I may look like a beggar but I’m rich as a king
What I have in my heart gives me reason to sing
I’m a joint heir with Jesus so why should I sigh.
For these are the treasures that money can’t buy.
Money is worthless when a soul is a stake
If gold bought redemption, how much would it take?
But He loved me and saved me and I can’t explain why.
These are the treasures that money can’t buy.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
1 Timothy 6:20 (KJV)
Inspiration
Just because a new idea sounds intelligent, that doesn’t mean it is true. And just because a new trend looks appealing, that doesn’t mean it is right. We have been given the Word of God, the life of Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide us in all truth. Let us not give ear to the voices that would oppose the truth that God has already given us, so that we may remain steadfast in Him.
Prayer
Lord, in the clamor of voices in our world, I desire to hear Yours. In the onslaught of information, give me the wisdom to sift truth from falsehood. Help me to not be deceived by false knowledge that sets itself up against You, and instead rely on Your word and Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
Hosea 11:4 (KJV)
Inspiration
Where the Lord leads us, He leads us with kindness. He does not burden us with the chains of slavery or the yoke of beasts. Instead, He binds us with love, cherishing us as His beloved creation, caring for our needs as we proceed through this life with Him. It may seem uncomfortable when He leads us away from the familiar, but we can be sure that where He leads us is good, and that He remains with us.
Prayer
Lord, in my weakness I sometimes year for the things that I’ve left behind, and the life that You rescued me from. It is easy to forget how heavy the chains of bondage once were. Help me Lord, to take comfort in Your bonds of love, and to not forget that it is You who gives me comfort on our journey together. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1 Corinthians 13:11 (KJV)
Inspiration
We all begin life as newborns. As we grow, we gain knowledge and wisdom that prepare us to live as adults. So too, we begin our spiritual lives as infants. God, by His love, grows us in our knowledge of Him. As we mature, we cast off the selfish ambitions, pride, and lies that we once knew as God perfects us by His grace.
Prayer
Father, thank You for making me Your child. Please walk with me so that I may know Your love and learn Your truth. Grow me in Your grace and wisdom, and teach me to put away my childish pride and pursuits. As You empty me of these things, fill me anew with Your Spirit so that as I grow in faith, I may resemble You more each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
Inspiration
What is the key to knowing peace? Trusting God. When we fix our minds on God, we fix our minds on what is reliable and faithful. We no longer rely on our unstable emotions or our limited understanding to manage whatever we face, but on the One who provides all wisdom and understanding. And His faithfulness and power bring us peace.
Prayer
Lord, You are the God of all peace. So I come to You desiring Your lasting peace. I place my cares and my desires in Your hands and trust in Your wisdom, knowledge, and love to guide me in all things. Please surround me with Your peace as You transform my mind and teach me to trust You more. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.
John 20:16 (KJV)
Inspiration
Mary was so distressed at the empty tomb, that at first, she didn’t recognize Jesus. Then he said her name, and she knew that she was in the presence of her resurrected savior. Jesus knows and calls each of us by name, too. And he speaks to us the way a dear friend does. With knowledge, understanding, and care. That’s the Jesus that knows us.
Prayer
Thank You, Jesus, for not only being my savior and redeemer but also my friend. Thank You for sharing in my life and inviting me to know You. Every time You call my name, I am awestruck that the One who is Maker and Ruler over all things would show such care and attention to me. And for that, I thank You and praise You, my Savior and Friend. In Jesus’ name, amen.

In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
Titus 2:7 (KJV)
Inspiration
Leadership and teaching are high callings. There is more to both than just imparting knowledge or giving instruction to others. We must have the conviction to live what we teach and lead by example. When we do so, we demonstrate not only the integrity and reliability of our words but the credence of the gospel itself as others see the effect that it has on our lives.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for calling me to be a leader. Whether I have many or few in my care, I ask that Your Spirit would fill me and empower me to live according to Your goodness and grace. Test my actions so that they may always be in step with Your truth. And test words so that they may always lead others in Your truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Yes, sir! it reminds me of the words to a song I once heard:
Do you live what you preach?
Would you preach what you live?
In the presence of God could you stand?
Jesus knows every deed
good or bad from your birth
Do you live what you preach in your church?

And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
Genesis 8:1 (KJV)
Inspiration
Noah and his family must have felt pretty isolated. For forty days the rain fell, and the flooding persisted for months beyond that. But the scriptures remind us that God had not forgotten Noah—or even the animals. Sometimes when we feel like we’re left out, we are exactly where God needs us to be, so that we may be ready when His plan comes to fruition.
Prayer
Lord, You are wise and sovereign over all things. I don’t always understand what happens, and I struggle with seasons of silent waiting. But I take comfort in knowing that You do not forget Your children. I trust in Your hand to guide me to where You need me to be, and in Your timing to reveal Your purpose in its time. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Amen, brother! I know I reply with a lot of song lyrics, but talking about God’s sovereignty and leadership reminds me of the words to an old hymn…
All the way my Savior leads me–
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
God bless you, brother!

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
2 Peter 3:17 (KJV)
Inspiration
God has given us His word not only to instruct us but to guard our hearts and minds against the things to come. Someday God will redeem His fallen creation and establish a new heaven and new earth. But until then, lawlessness will only increase, so we must hold dearly to the truth and knowledge that we have been given so that we don’t get toppled and swept away by the ways of the world.
Prayer
Lord, I am thankful that You have given me hope. As I look at the evil, selfishness, and lawlessness that drive our world, I long for Your kingdom to fully manifest. And until that happens, I cling to You and ask that You would grow me daily in Your word so that I may grow strong roots in You and remain steadfast no matter what comes. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
Inspiration
Why? is often the first thought, sometimes unconsciously, that comes to mind when something doesn’t go the way we desire. We’re wired to want to understand the reasons things happen, and that can be a good thing, helping us to cope or improve or even protect ourselves. However, the reality is that sometimes we just won’t be able to understand why God permits some things to happen. But we can be sure that even when the ways of men complicate life, God is steadfast, trustworthy, and always ready to love and lead us when we don’t see the way forward. Truth.
Prayer
Lord, I really would like to learn from my present situation, to understand why things are the way they are today. Would You please help me to grow through this situation instead of becoming bitter or confused? I do believe that You take pleasure in leading me, so please show me the way forward. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Matthew 6:26(KJV)
Inspiration
Though we’re all aware of the potentially positive aspects of education, of work, and of being proactive, with these words Jesus does two things: He reminds us of how important we are to God, and He invites us to acquire a different perspective of our work. He’s not saying to stop working, but He is literally saying that if we think our job success is fundamentally equivalent to securing the payment of our bills each month, then we have the ‘cart before the horse’. Our job is not synonymous with security, nor does it prove God’s love. God’s promise to provide for us does! Truth.
Prayer
Lord, it must sadden You to see us sometimes trust more in our education and employment than we do in You. I am trying to understand the balance between my responsibility and Your provision. Give me wisdom, I pray, and the mindset of depending on Your love for me above all. Thank you. Amen.

Yes! I need reminding of this, because I’m tempted to think that I don’t need any help, and that I can do it all on my own, and by doing it myself, then will I feel secure. But it’s like it says in Proverbs 21:31, “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: But safety is of the LORD.” There’s nothing wrong with being prepared; but never forget that God is the one who is watching over us, and in the end, it’s because of His provision ultimately, that we are safe and secure! God bless you, Brother

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.
Psalm 31:24 (KJV)
Inspiration
We become fearless amid earthly struggles because the Lord is on our side! The power of His name will frighten the enemy and strengthen our hearts to weather any storm. We have hope when faced with physical and spiritual dilemmas because the Lord is always present and willing to carry our burdens. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father grows stronger each day, and we will continue to lift our voices in praise for His amazing love.
Prayer
Dear Lord, we praise You for Your unfailing love. Thank you for Your eternal presence in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
James 3:14 (KJV)
Inspiration
Envy and bitterness are negative feelings that become heavy burdens on our hearts. Envy of someone else’s knowledge, happiness or material possessions will make us sour, and has the potential to control our lives. We only want God to have complete control over our lives. We desire to walk in the truth and to follow Christ with no contention or envy in our hearts.
Prayer
Father, forgive us for becoming envious of others. We want to walk in the truth and follow You with no bitterness in our hearts. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Proverbs 16:9 KJV
Inspiration
It’s our human nature to come up with plans, thoughts, and goals for the future. But we need to realize God is the only one who truly knows what’s best for us. When you have plans you would like to make, or actions you need to take about a particular decision, make sure that you go to God first.
Prayer
Dear God, I commit all my plans, dreams, and aspirations into your hands. These are only products of my thoughts; what I truly want is what you want for me because I know that that is what will truly be best for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
Inspiration
Part of being a Christian is humbling ourselves and realizing that without God, our lives truly mean nothing. We are to acknowledge that we have made a conscious choice to turn away from the bad deeds and sinful habits, and we have turned to the holy life God has presented before us.
Prayer
Father, I humbly present myself as one who has chosen to turn away from their sinful ways. It is a choice I made when I chose to follow you and Lord, it is a choice I intend to abide in. Father, help me to walk in a way that is worthy of this calling. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
God bless you in your fight!

I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
Psalms 69:3 (KJV)
Inspiration
We live in an imperfect world, and it is inevitable that bad times will come our way. No one can escape tears and heartache during this earthly life. As Christians, we have hope! Our knowledge of God’s presence brings us peace and comfort. We know God is in control and has ultimate power over the outcome of our struggles. As we wait patiently, God’s Spirit abides in our hearts, guiding and comforting us each moment.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for your presence and comfort through our struggles. You reassure us that Your mighty hands will catch every tear and you will continue to love us unconditionally. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
