I found disabling Google chrome and the Google app work just fine. I use another browser called “Edge” as in Microsoft edge. On Edge you sign into your email and if you set it up correctly it blocks any explicit content. The way to do this is you’ve got to setup a family plan on Edge; so you must have a backup email set as the parent and the email you will use set as the child. I suggest making both anew and not saving/remembering the password of the parent email once you’re all done setting it up. You can probably find a better step by step video on YouTube how to do this, but trust me it’s worth putting the time into to do. It helps alot.

I recommend using a combination of OpenDNS on your router’s settings (affects all devices connected to the network) and a modified hosts file on each client, works on rooted devices too. Then pass the admin password to whoever helps you stay accountable and you won’t be able to change things and the blockers stay on. With the hosts file, you can also enforce Google Safe Search or a moderate mode for youtube, in case you don’t block it entirely.
