I was reading The Freedom Model today and gained some insight into what makes the journey of “recovery” difficult.
Similar to the wisdom shared in the EasyPeasyMethod, we don’t start off with a sense of joy that we’re making the best possible decision and excitement at the life we’re building free of addiction. Rather, we’re afraid of triggers and of future relapses, and secretly still craving for PMO, yet worried about experiencing more negative consequences.
I want to do my best to leave the fear behind and approach the journey with love and happiness. I am at my best when I’m free and clean of PMO. I am happier and far more fulfilled. I am not depriving myself of anything beneficial or genuinely pleasurable.
My form at the gym wasn’t the best today and I injured myself, it was quite painful. I want to be more attentive in the future to prevent further harm.
Alhamdulillah for everything.

It was a good day, moods were high. The energy from the last streak has not been completely lost, I have bounced back much faster. I’m feeling like myself again.
The day would have been better if I accomplished something for my business. Money is dearly needed right now. I want to put more energy into earning an income outside of my job.
Without a clear schedule, there is too much room for procrastination. There’s a difference in productivity on the days when I’ve made a plan of action.
I recorded a new video: Why Do We Binge and How Do We Break the Cycle?
Alhamdulillah for everything.
Bro, why using so Harsh words man.
There was a time that the day 1 badge in this app was Slave and day 2 was Servant. It was changed because people found it too harsh.
I think outcast is okay - it’s just a rank. I don’t feel like an outcast, I am an emperor already. I live like an emperor today so I will become one tomorrow.

The urges were present today. The voice in my head was saying, Right now if I listen to the voice in my head, he’s saying, "Good, you have lost weight and done well in your diet. It is the weekend, you can relax and enjoy yourself. Go buy a pizza, have some ice cream, eat until you are satisfied.
Your streak is tiny, it is only a few days. You are expected to relapse a few times after falling from a high streak, that’s only normal. You can binge on PMO this weekend and start again fresh on Monday."
That voice is a liar. Every time I have listened to it, it has promised me the world and left me in pain and misery. I refuse to listen to it anymore.
Despite a recent injury, I completed my workout at the gym. I could have easily used it as an excuse not to go, but I persevered and found a way to stay on task without causing myself any further harm.
Alhamdulillah for everything.
That’s way better even if harsh. Maybe they can still put these ranks if your streak is for a few hours or something.
There’s no badges for hrs. So I doubt these ranks will be reintroduced.
But imo there should be some sort of relaxation day 3 onwards. Imagine being in a tough phase, making a 3 day streak just to see the app calling you servant.
I agree The lowest badges should be unpleasant since no one is aiming to be there.
But I still want to value a small streak. In my dairy when I last relapsed, I had a piece of writing which I shared through a pic.
One of the Lines were “A streak as small as 1 hr is also worth saving” and now I am on day 14, almost out of the relapse loop I unfortunately found myself after that 3 digit streak.
I get what you mean, but by valuing small streaks, we can make bigger ones. Lot of people relapse thinking 2-3 day streak isn’t “valueable”
This is true.
Even yesterday when the urges were coming to me, the voice in my head said, You’re only on day 6, it doesn’t matter if you relapse. It is no great loss.
“A streak as small as 1 hr is also worth saving”
Beautiful quote.
The only way we will ever reach permanent freedom is by valuing each hour that makes up the ultimate streak. A streak of 30 000 days started from one second in the beginning.
Last time I had a urge was on day 3 but since then, I just told myself that if 1 hr is worth saving, then 4 days is equal to 96 hrs. So it’s 96 times more valuable to save it.

Today was a light, easygoing day. I had plans for what I wanted to achieve during the day, but I didn’t have the energy. I donated blood in the morning, and that left me feeling weaker than I thought, so it was better to rest and relax.
I’m grateful for my health that I don’t have to worry about surgeries, getting blood transfusions or taking medication. I’m happy to have spent another day clean, despite the temptation. I’m glad for the hope I have for a better future.
Alhamdulillah for everything.

This weekend, I didn’t achieve the plans I had set for myself. There was a lot of procrastination.
Thankfully, I stuck with many of my usual positive habits. But there was a great deal of empty, wasted time.
My phone says I spent 20 hours last week playing a game on my phone. 20 hours. That’s 2 and a half 8 hour workdays. 28 hours on YouTube. Some of that time was definitely productive, some of it was nonsense.
How am I preparing for a better future?
Alhamdulillah for everything.

Relapsing and binging have severe consequences. All the pornographic videos I watched two weeks ago are plaguing me with urges. There were so many temptations today.
But I carried on with my day, and it was a great day. I was happy and joyful. I got some work done, I went to the gym, I laughed and joked with friends.
We can’t let those thoughts keep us from being happy. The best life is one free from giving into those temptations.

My friend told me today to view myself as someone free from addiction. He told me I wasn’t an addict anymore.
I spent some time thinking about that. I’ve had awful urges these past few days, plenty of flashbacks, even some sexual dreams. Yet if I was the old addicted me, I’d be binging right now. I would have given into the temptations ages ago. The fact that I’m still here free and clean is proof that I have self-control.
I am much more than the thoughts that pop up in my head. My spirit longs for that joyous life beyond PMO. I will remain on this path of freedom.
Alhamdulillah for everything.
“I am much more than the thoughts that pop up in my head” great line and great video as usual. Keep doing your best bro. You’re awesome
