@forerunner, it’s always a pleasure to see somebody improve and strive to get better.
I’ve read some of your posts in this diary, I’ve seen the position from which you started and how you are working to become a better version of yourself.
Now I would like to become one of the companions who read your diary regularly. Your effort is very inspiring.
Keep up the good work

@StevenSuccessJourney Thanks brother, I appreciate that.
The resistance has started, with some stressful events adding fuel. I was at a protest today and it just filled me with anger and frustration, especially knowing that it’s unlikely anything would change or get better. There is so much that’s wrong with the world.
I want to maintain my resolve. I want to keep focused on the things that are within my control. I want to focus on all the good things that are in my life and what is right about the world. People come together in supportive communities all the
time, it isn’t all doom and gloom.
First day that some slight urges returned, along with the desire to return to junk food. I held my ground and remembered my values. Another successful day.

Congrats on the successful day my brother.
And it’s great to see maintain your resolve!
Nice job. I feel like that is the biggest recovery point. Life happens. Emotions happen always. We cant step out and give ourselves fake rewards. We have to hang in there. I try to be aware as good and bad happen. We want to feel both and not escape. Its tough for sure but in the end we evolve into the people we should be.
Day 15: 22nd October 2020

@PatrickJ @ERNOL Thanks, brothers. That has been my biggest challenge, dealing with and managing emotions. I recently heard that there are no negative emotions, the ones that feel uncomfortable are there for a reason also.
It’s the day afterwards but here goes…
I’ve been going through the audiobook version of the EasyPeasyWay Hackbook in order to gain insight into what false beliefs have held me back on this journey. It’s a very powerful book - I highly recommend it to everyone.
While out on my walk yesterday, I was enjoying looking at the trees and nature around me and this lightbulb hit me - I’m free right now. Like, I’m actually free. I don’t have to PMO anymore. I can stay like this for my whole life as long as I CHOOSE to be. The only thing that can change that is falling for the old lie I’ve succumbed to hundreds of times “Just one peek won’t hurt.”
Just one peek WILL hurt. It always hurts. All it took was one peek when I was 11 to start this whole mess. As long as I remember that there’s no such thing as one peek, I can remain this way.
It feels ridiculous smiling at a tree and thinking, I’m happy right now. But who says you need a reason to be happy? When we are acting in alignment with our values, we can find it easy to be content with who we are.
I realised that even the stressful events I’ve been facing are either maximised or minimised by my own actions. If I’m going through stress, but I’m still performing positive self-care, keeping to healthy habits and a routine of productivity, it’s much easier to deal with challenges that come my way.
Here’s a link to the audiobook:

Great self-realization brother.
I feel the same.
We have to wisely deal with negative aspects of our emotions. I wrote about it a little. You can view it if you wish:

I’ve noticed it too. Habits provide structure to your life, and create a sense of stability in the periods of most uncertainty or stress.

@Wannabeliberated Thanks man! It’s really good to see you again bro! Welcome back I hope things go better for you this time around!
Like my good friend said, every day is a choice not to be controlled anymore. There were some urges, but I told myself “You know EXACTLY what the result of ‘one more peek’ is. You’re free right now, don’t spoil it!” I got up and went for a short walk, and the urges were gone within a few minutes.
Thank GOD for freedom!

It’s much easier to deal with urges. Instead of coming from the mindset of “I can’t do that” or “I shouldn’t do that because of reasons X Y and Z”, it’s “Why on earth would I even WANT TO?”
Life is so much better when we’re free. Even stress is less stressful.
