I am creating this topic so we all can help each other by sharing about your hacks to overcome urges to relapse in your journey.(these advises really helps some begineers, so don’t be shy)


I never had strong urges. I just had urges. The fact that just “urges” were breaking me was shameful
That was disturbing for me. It was in December that I realized I needed a detox from masturbation so I could fix my dopamine fuck up. I was never addicted to porn or masturbation as such. I did it out of compulsion. It was a routine, a habit.

So how I decided to abruptly stop?

It stopped making me feel good… So I stopped it

These are some points I have learned in my journey from experience and from other amazing companions.

POINT 1. Just avoid visual and auditory i.e. ALL TRIGGER. Stay the hell away from screen, social media and movies (also series and animes). Don’t check out girls or opposite gender.

POINT 2. Stay busy to defeat physical urges. Don’t fight the urges, it will get powerful if we concentrate on it. Staying busy is the ultimate weapon to defeat horniness. Staying busy for a lifelong goal and dream is better. Follow a routine. Don’t divert from it.

POINT 3. Never fantasize. If a sexual though comes, just focus on something else. It just takes 5 seconds to redirect to a new thought. Entertaining a thought will increase its power and make you more horny and create powerful urges. So focus on something else.

POINT 4. Don’t touch your privates ever. Don’t put your hands in the pants. NO Touching!!!

POINT 5. Remember your horrible feelings after EVERY. SINGLE. RELAPSE!!!. No porn will satisfy you. No masturbation will make you happy. PMO will not decrease your stress. It will not relax you. You don’t need PMO to feel good. You don’t want PMO anymore. YOU ARE NOT ATTRACTED BY PMO ANYMORE. YOU VIEW PMO AS DISGUSTING, HORRIBLE AND VOMIT PRODUCING. YOUR PAST IS PAST. NOW YOU ARE A NEW AND BETTER PERSON. AND YOU WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THAT CRAP!!!.

After breaking from the conscious mental attraction of PMO, now just take a cold shower or put cold water on your privates (if you know for sure you won’t touch yourself). Then stay busy in your task. Or take a walk, socialize, eat or drink something and exercise.

Practice these 5 points. Make it a habit and you will NEVER relapse!!!

Congratulations, you just avoided and defused a relapse. You are getting better at this. SOON , YOU WILL ACHIEVE HIGHER STREAKS AND BREAK FREE !!!. MAN, YOU are SIMPLY AWESOME :fire::fire::fire:


For men, we’re ‘turned on’ by visual stimulus. For women it’s fantasies. That’s why more men tend to view p* while more women tend to write p* stories instead. Note that I said tend to, not all do.


This is not a short term urge killer but it helps to motivate me each time for what I’m here for.
This was by our dear friend @Ash_Matt though I don’t have the actual link to the thread so I just screenshot it and I do a read through to divert my mind.

There are many other powerful techniques of dealing with urges but at last it comes to your self control. Think of what’s more important for you, think of everything you’ll get after relapsing (NOTHING) And now think of everything you’ve got till now while doing No Fap and think what you’ll lose if you relapse.
At the end you have to learn self control, that’s the motive of this app, to rewire your brain not to make you a muscular beast. It’s an advantage though if you really push hard for it.

Sexual thoughts will last for 21 days after that you’ll learn to control them. I’m on Day 27 and I’ve got to the point where I’m not driven by my fantasies anymore. No urges are strong enough to Stumble me. It was a struggle in the beginning but now I’m enjoying it. :wink:

My hack to avoid urges

  1. Don’t use social media.

  2. Don’t chat with opposite genders even don’t see their status.

  3. Urges comes because of sexual thoughts,to control this I wore a rubber band, so whenever a thought comes just pull and release the band, pain distracts your brain and also wire your brain to not think lusty thoughts.

  4. Try to learn new skills this time, it surely keeps you busy(more helpful if this skill related to physical activity).

I’m not an expert here, but in my view being a good observer do a decent job here. What it means is that, we all know what is our weakness. Even we know, if we watch something erotic content what’ll happen…we get a temporary pleasure and then regret rest of the time. but still we do… Is not it? but why we do? possible that’s the question which needed a clear answer and convince yourself. So need to hold yourself before taking decisions, importantly your mind needs to change the definitions and identify real vs imaginary. That is, success becomes the sole determinant of rational decision-making someone said. I hope someday we all will get out of this.

I am on my 5th day streak
I had an addiction for 7 years
1.anime are most striking the urge
2.i did one thing for past few days that I reduce my phone battery before sleep and so I am unable to use it in night
As I was watching porn and doing masturbation in night time mostly
This trick worked fore past days



Just stop watching animes!!!.
I also had relapsed previously due to watching anime. I loved anime so much. I was a big fan. But animes are a waste of time with fake entertainment. Its just cartoon!!!. ( dont get angry😂) ( dear anime fans, dont mind, i also love anime but i have to give up anime for somethong more worthy).
They are a big trigger risk. So i dont watch anime now.
Its difficult to sacrifice what you like. But the benefits are worth it without regreting for a single second.
I dont watch movies, seasons and animes now.
I dont use any social media now.
I am on day 45 of noPMO.
Without triggers, the journey is so easy.

Just the physical urges remain which i deal with by staying busy.

For incoming sexual thoughts, just focus on something else. It will just take 5 seconds to divert your mind.
