Morning Devotional

June 6, 2025 Friday

Devotional Scripture

I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Psalm 16:8-11 KJV

You Are With Me

Frances Taylor

Jesus has come to show us the path of life. All we need to do is follow it. We all want joy and happiness in our lives, and we spend a lot of time looking for ways to get it. Think about the times that have made you happy. They probably arenโ€™t about things. Theyโ€™re probably times that have been spent with loved ones, or experiences we have shared. As much as the advertising agencies might try to convince us, things wonโ€™t make us happy. Oh, we might have a momentary thrill when we get a new car, or a great outfit, or nice piece of jewelry, but how long does the feeling last? Unless that new piece of jewelry was an engagement ring, probably not long! But watching your children sleeping, or sharing a beautiful sunset with a friend brings us happiness not just for the moment, but every time we recapture that memory. Love brings us joy, doing the right thing gives us a feeling of satisfaction that no โ€œthingโ€ can give. When we walk in the light of Christ, knowing that God is with us, we can even get through the dark days with confidence that we will come out the other side and we will find joy again. The key is to walk in the light of faith just as Jesus did, knowing his Father was at his side.

Prayer

Lord, help us to keep our eyes on Jesus who will always be with us to show us the way to true joy and true happiness that will last beyond this lifetime. Amen.

Night Bible Verse of the Day

June 6, 2025 Friday

Night Scripture

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Luke 9:23 KJV

Inspiration

Jesus doesnโ€™t sugarcoat the call to follow Him. To be a disciple isnโ€™t just to believe in Jesus; itโ€™s to become like Him. That means a daily decision to deny ourselves, our comfort, pride, and plans, and to carry the cross. The cross isnโ€™t just a symbol; itโ€™s a lifestyle of surrender, sacrifice, and obedience. We need this kind of discipleship because our natural way of living puts self at the center, but Jesus calls us to a higher path where He is at the center. In following Jesus, we find true purpose, lasting peace, and eternal reward.

So today, ask yourself:

  • What do I need to lay down?

  • Where do I need to follow Him more closely?

The great truth is that He walks with us every step of the way.

Prayer

Father, help me to deny myself, take up my cross daily, and follow You.

Give me the strength to surrender, the courage to obey, and a heart that longs to walk in Your footsteps. Not my will, but Yours be done.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Morning Bible Verse of the Day

June 7, 2025 Saturday

Morning Scripture

As he spake these words, many believed on him.

John 8:30 KJV

Inspiration

John chapter 8 is a very unusual and startling chapter. Here in verse 30, many are said to have "believed on him. " But yet, he immediately says that only if they continue in his word are they truly his disciples. (verse 31) By the end of the chapter, Jesus has called many of them children of the Devil and they have taken up stones to stone him, but could not because his hour had not yet come.

Prayer

O Lord God, there is that which is true saving faith and that which is merely external and intellectual and even temporary. By your grace, let us continue in walking in your Word, showing ourselves to be your disciples indeed. We shudder to think of false believers, but we know they exist. Let us examine ourselves to see if we be in the faith. Let your Spirit confirm to our spirits that we are the sons of God. Amen.

Morning Devotional

June 7, 2025 Saturday

Devotional Scripture

And ye are witnesses of these things.
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

John 24:48-49 KJV

I Send Forth the Promise of My Father

Frances Taylor

Jesus asked the apostles to wait for the coming of the Spirit so that they would be clothed with the powers that they needed to complete their mission. Jesus knew what they would need just as he knows what we need. We are called to be disciples also, and we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit with our baptism. The powers that we need are right there for us. But like anything, we need to use them, the more we ask God to help us, the easier it gets. No one becomes a great athlete with putting in a lot of practice. I know I have heard the phrase โ€œpractice your faithโ€ more than once. Do we think itโ€™s just a phrase or is it something we take seriously? The Holy Spirit, I think, is the forgotten person of the Trinity. We think about God as Father, as Creator, and we know the Son, Jesus, but how often do we think about the Holy Spirit? These next few days are the perfect time to reflect on the Spirit as we celebrate Pentecost. We know the gifts outlined in Scripture but do we take them seriously? Which gift do you need in your life right now? I think I am always looking for wisdom and understanding, but sometimes courage is first, especially when I donโ€™t want to do what I know I should do! Perhaps counsel is the most important thing if you have big decisions to make. I see little reverence in todayโ€™s world, and we all could use a little fear of the Lord. And we can all use more knowledge. Letโ€™s take the time for a spiritual check-up and ask for we are lacking.

Prayer

Gracious God, help us to remember that you are always there ready to give us all that we need to come to you and spread your message to others. Thank you for all the gifts you have given us, and help us know what we need today. Amen.

Night Bible Verse of the Day

June 7, 2025 Saturday

Night Scripture

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John 6:51 KJV

Inspiration

Human wants are indeed insatiable and seem to be unending however our immediate needs are few. The basic needs of life are typical for all - food, shelter and clothing; any other need is secondary. The most important of these needs is food because it is required for sustenance. No reasonable and amount of work can be done without the nourishment supplied from the intake of food. Food is indeed essential for life.

One of the many phrases Jesus employed in describing himself is the Bread of Life. Since bread is a general term used for food in light of this phrase, it implies that Jesus is essential for life. The life being referred to here is not physical life but the life of God - eternal life. This life is for anyone who believes in Him as the Son of God. It is a life of triumph and abundance. One important way of contracting this life is by eating the flesh of Jesus, which is symbolic of the Lordโ€™s Passover popularly known as Holy Communion. Observing this commandment implies that we are one with Him and share in His life. We enjoy all the benefits that are accrued to this meal and experience a real and fulfilling life.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for making me a partaker of the divine life in Christ by virtue of His death and resurrection. I am grateful for the grace to accept the call to a life of triumph and abundance. I bless You for the grace that guaranteed my salvation. Father Lord, let me not dissociate from You through unbelief. Help me trust and depend on You as my sufficiency and as my everything. Let me experience the benefits of eating Your flesh and let Your life be evident in mine.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.

Morning Bible Verse of the Day

June 8, 2025 Sunday

Morning Scripture

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV

Inspiration

It was in the death and resurrection of Jesus that Godโ€™s full power was revealed to man. After Jesus died and rose again, Godโ€™s power was shown to the authorities and powers that dominated the realms. No man ever went down to hell and came up again, except Jesus (Acts 2:31-32). This event shocked the rulers of the world so much that it spun them off their axis of comprehension (1 Corinthians 2:8). It was the wisdom and power of God at work in its rare form (1 Corinthians 1:24).

The cross of Jesus is where the wisdom of God was further revealed to the rebellious dark powers that rule the cosmos. Even though they revere Godโ€™s sovereignty, they somehow always try to resist it and argue against it as if to prove a point. However, once again, the immortal, invincible God proved His Kingship and Lordship over every force in existence.

That same power is what God wants you to live by. He wants you to master the powers and authorities in heavenly places because He has put them all under your feet by His mighty power (Ephesians 1:22). The Lord has placed you in a position of authority, so you can be an expression of His power, showing the entire creation His wisdom, power, and authority through your life every day.

Prayer

Lord, I pray You to give me a comprehensive understanding of the power of the cross. I pray You to enlighten the eyes of my understanding and give me the grace to enjoy all that Youโ€™ve given me freely. Through Your mighty power, You have given me the grace to always triumph over every principality and power that opposes me. By the power of the cross, You have given me life and the power to live above sin and every limitation of the flesh. In Christ, Iโ€™m saved, Iโ€™m free, and Iโ€™m delivered now and forever. Amen.

Morning Devotional

June 8, 2025 Sunday

Devotional Scripture

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Acts 1:1-5 KJV

Stay and Wait

Frances Taylor

Wouldnโ€™t you love to be able to ask the apostles what they were thinking during these days of waiting? They really had no idea what it would mean. They had all run away when Jesus was arrested. Only John was at the foot of the cross. They stayed in the upper room when they were in Jerusalem, or back in Galilee as Jesus had asked. Now Jesus was leaving them and he told them to wait for something or someone but they didnโ€™t have any idea what it would be. What we do know is that they waited, prayed, and chose someone to replace Judas. Sometimes we want Jesus to act in our lives now, and we hate to be told to wait, but God doesnโ€™t work in our time frame. Often we need to wait. What do we do while waiting? Do we gather with others to pray with us? Do we ask the Holy Spirit to help us? Or do we try to solve our problems ourselves without waiting for God to be with us? Itโ€™s easy to think that we can do a better job with taking care of our lives than God, after all, we know ourselves better than anyone, right? Well, how does that work for you? I know it doesnโ€™t work for me. Patience is not a gift I have an abundance of. However, I have learned from experience that God does know whatโ€™s best for me and it would have saved me a lot of trouble if I had waited for his lead. How about you?

Prayer

Lord, you asked the apostles to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit before they went out to preach. You often ask us to wait for the guidance of the Spirit in our lives as well. Give us the grace to do as you have asked us to do. Amen.

Night Bible Verse of the Day

June 8, 2025 Sunday

Night Prayer

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2 KJV

Inspiration

If you seek inspiration or life lessons from anyone other than Jesus, youโ€™re doing it wrong. Itโ€™s not to say that we shouldnโ€™t go to school and learn from teachers, mentors, and others who know us better than us. It doesnโ€™t mean that we shouldnโ€™t learn natural wisdom for living. Not at all! We speak of something deeper and more urgent. We speak of the inspiration to live and do all that you do.

Our lives are surrounded by many influences in our fast-paced twenty-first-century world. Sometimes, we forget to look to Jesus who is everything we should know to have. Jesus is the ultimate guide for the life of every human in existence. His ways have proven to be the acceptable and verified ways that please God.
We must learn the faith, endurance, and focus of Jesus in everything we do. Jesus was a man on earth who gave us the blueprint to serve God in righteousness and acceptable worship. We must study the life of Jesus with every resolve to master it and be exactly like Him. When He was sent by the Father, He obediently came.

When He came, He lived a life of faith and confidence in God which made Him a doer of good and a worker of miracles. When it came time to suffer for the cause, He didnโ€™t abscond because He understood the true meaning of His purpose. He knew what awaited Him. And as a reward for diligence and character, God gave Him a name more powerful than any sound known to men and spirits.

God has also called us to certain responsibilities but we must be wise enough to look to Jesus and pattern our lives after His if we seek to be as victorious as Him.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for the love and grace You have poured out. Now, I have seen You through the life of Jesus who is the express image of Your appearance. As I strive to look to Jesus for life and righteousness, help me remain focused. Help me remain in alignment with Your will and purpose, so that in the end I may be crowned with a reward for service and obedience to You.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.

Morning Bible Verse of the Day

June 9, 2025 Monday

Morning Scripture

And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

Romans 5:16 KJV

Inspiration

Our Lord brings us grace and peace, in abundance, through faith in Him. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross made a way for us to be reconciled to God, even though we were once His enemies. He took upon himself the punishment we deserved and made it possible for us to have a right relationship with Him and to inherit eternal life. He did all this out of His love for us.

Through the supreme act of righteousness by the Lord Jesus Christ, the consequence of sin from the entire human race was reconciled. All those who put their faith in Him are declared righteous and receive the gift of eternal salvation. The gift of justification by faith in Christ is immense, but the benefits extend far beyond that. Our faith in Him is credited as righteousness, granting us access to Godโ€™s grace, despite our inherent sin and previous state of divine wrath.

And through the power of His indwelling Spirit, we are able to find joy in our trials and tribulations, as they bring about endurance and perseverance. He has delivered us from the condemnation of sin and reconciled us eternally with God, leading us to rejoice throughout all time and into the eternal ages to come.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the immeasurable gift of righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ. Your love for me is so great that You sent Your Son to pay the penalty for my sin and reconcile me to You. I am filled with joy and peace knowing that I am justified and saved by Your grace. Help me to stand firm in this truth and exult in my trials, trusting in Your strength and goodness.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.

Morning Devotional

June 9, 2025 Monday

Devotional Scripture

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:1-4 KJV

Is The Holy Spirit Working In Your Life?

Frances Taylor

Answering this question implies that you look for the Holy Spiritโ€™s action in your life! So, take a few minutes and think about the past week or two. What opportunities have you had to help someone? What gifts of yours have been called upon? Did a friend or relative need a shoulder to lean on? Have you had to make any serious decisions lately? What moments of sheer joy have you experienced? Did you receive an answer to prayer? These are all examples of places where the Holy Spirit is present. We donโ€™t always recognize the Spirit. The disciples of Jesus had an experience of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost that changed not only their lives but ours as well. Without their witness and the witness of those that came after them, we would never have known about the saving act of Jesus. We would still be fearful of suffering death believing that that was the end, that there was nothing and no one waiting for us in the afterlife. We will probably never have so profound an experience of the Spirit as they did, but that doesnโ€™t mean that the Holy Spirit isnโ€™t present in our lives. When we share our experiences of God, when we open ourselves to others we are also witnesses that can give others hope. Where is the Holy Spirit present in your life? The Spirit is present; all we need to do is look.

Prayer

Come Holy Spirit, fill us with the joy and understanding with which you gifted your disciples on Pentecost and came to us at Baptism. Help us to appreciate this gift and give us the courage of the apostles to testify to our faith. Amen.

Night Bible Verse of the Day

June 9, 2025 Monday

Night Scripture

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

1 John 4:9 KJV

Inspiration

The Lord loves the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). This amazing love is available to all who choose to receive it, regardless of race, background, or lifestyle. By putting their faith in Him, they can have the assurance of salvation and the joy of living in close relationship with Him forever.

The extent of Godโ€™s sacrificial love should not be underestimated. Due to humanityโ€™s sin, the entire world was subjected to divine judgment. Despite this, God loves sinners with a fierce passion, but cannot tolerate sin. As a result, He, who knows the end from the beginning, pre-determined in eternity past to redeem humanity by providing a substitute for sin - a perfect man who would bear the consequences of sin and receive the punishment that we deserve.

The path to eternal life and freedom from sinโ€™s grip is available to anyone who places their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. No one is excluded from Godโ€™s offer of salvation, and all are invited to receive it as a free gift. The only requirement is belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. Embrace this belief, and you will be saved.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that I may always understand the depth of Your love for me, demonstrated so perfectly in the sacrifice of Your only begotten Son, Jesus. You loved the world so much that You gave Him to die for our sins, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. I am grateful for this incredible gift, and I choose to believe in You, Lord.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.

Morning Bible Verse of the Day

June 10, 2025 Tuesday

Morning Scripture

And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

Hebrews 1:10 KJV

Inspiration

The verse emphasizes the superiority of Christ over the angels, as the Son of God. He sits at the right hand of God, ruling over all things and having been made so much better than the angels. It also reminds us of our salvation, which is secured through His sacrifice on the cross. We can trust in His sovereignty and be confident in His love for us.

The Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Word of God, created all things and upholds them through His power. At the beginning, He founded the earth with His might. With His strength, He cast the stars into space. Yet, despite this, misguided human beings traded the truth of God for a falsehood and chose to worship and serve creation instead of the Creator.

Through the Lord Jesus Christ, all things were created, both in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, including thrones, lordships, principalities, and authorities. He was born to sacrifice for humanityโ€™s sin, allowing all who believe in Him to be reborn from above and live with Him forever.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the amazing truth of Your Word, that through You all things were created. I praise You for Your power and might in creating the universe and holding all things together. Help me to never forget that You are the Creator and I am the creature, and to worship and serve You alone. I surrender my life to You and ask that You would guide me and lead me every day, to live for Your glory and honor.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.

Morning Devotional

June 10, 2025 Tuesday

Devotional Scripture

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousnessโ€™ sake: for theirโ€™s is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:1-10 KJV

The Beatitudes

Frances Taylor

Jesusโ€™ Sermon on the Mount is one of the most quoted sections of the New Testament. In some translations, blessed is translated as happy. If you read them that way, would they take on a different meaning? After all we all want to be happy! Happy are the poor in spirit. We want to get to the kingdom of God but do we really want to be poor in spirit, or be persecuted? I know it doesnโ€™t say โ€œpoor.โ€ But to be poor in spirit might mean being generous in spirit. We might have to think of others before ourselves, making sacrifices, helping the poor. None of us wants to mourn, but the fact it that unless we die before all the people we love, we will mourn. Jesus is telling us that even though we will grieve, that isnโ€™t the end, and if we turn to God and allow him to walk with us, we will find comfort. The world doesnโ€™t hold the meek in high esteem, but turning the other cheek takes strength. Acknowledging our weaknesses as well as our strength takes strength. Since Jesus calls us to work for justice, it is part of following Christ that should encourage our hunger for what is right. Those who are merciful, who are able to be compassionate and forgive are the ones that will be forgiven more easily when they fail. And who doesnโ€™t want peace? The problem is we need to work for justice if we want peace. We need to refrain from seeing violence as an answer to problems. If we pay attention to the beatitudes, and live them, we will be happy.

Prayer

Lord, you have given us the commandments to help us learn how to live, and you had your Son, Jesus, give us the rules for happiness. Help us to live them. Amen.

Night Bible Verse of the Day

June 10, 2025 Tuesday

Night Scripture

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

1 Peter 1:22 KJV

Inspiration

The Lord calls us to love one another deeply and earnestly from the heart, for love covers a multitude of sins. Love is the evidence of our faith, the proof that we are truly His children, and it is through love that we demonstrate the reality of the new birth. He desires for us to embody love, compassion, and kindness in all of our interactions with others.

The love that the Savior had for Peter, a former fisherman, was being transformed into a divine love for those under Peterโ€™s care. Peter desired that all those who believe in the truth of the gospel, including himself and us, maintain pure hearts and adhere to Christโ€™s commandment to love one another as He loves us.

Our hearts cannot be purified by ourselves. Sincerity in our love for others and fervent love for one another cannot be achieved through our own efforts. The Lord purifies our soul through salvation and continues to do so as we confess our sins, stay in fellowship with Him, and follow His Word. A godly character and godly behavior stem from a close relationship with Christ and being continually connected to Him.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for Your purifying work in my heart. I ask that You help me to develop a sincere love for the brethren, to fervently love one another from the inner depths of my heart, and to not love with a hypocritical heart or insincerity of spirit. Help me to keep my heart pure and to obey Your command to love others as You love me. I trust in You to continue to purify my soul day by day as I confess my sin and remain in fellowship with You.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.

Morning Bible Verse of the Day

June 11, 2025 Wednesday

Morning Scripture

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Joshua 1:6 KJV

Inspiration

Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Trust in His promises, and rely on His strength to guide you. The Lord has given you a land of prosperity, but it is up to you to possess it. Keep His commands always before you, and meditate on His word day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. The Lord will give you success, and will be with you wherever you go.

His Word urges us to be strong and courageous as we face lifeโ€™s challenges, relying on the promises and guidance found in His Word. With faith and determination, we can conquer any obstacle that comes our way, knowing that He is always by our side, empowering us with His might and grace. We are called to be steadfast in our pursuit of His will, and to trust that He will never leave or forsake us, but will always be our source of strength and wisdom.

And just like Joshua, we shall also firmly trust in the Word of the Lord and put it into action. It is imperative that we familiarize ourselves with the truth of Godโ€™s Word, reflect upon the promises He has made, have faith in the veracity of His Word, and strictly adhere to the directives given to us through the Holy Scriptures.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You today with a heart filled with trust and confidence. I choose to immerse myself in Your Word and meditate on Your promises. I trust in the truth of Your Word and choose to follow Your instructions. Help me to know Your truth and to trust in it fully. Give me the strength to act on Your Word, and the courage to be bold in the face of uncertainty. Thank You for being my faithful guide and protector.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.

Morning Devotional

June 11, 2025 Wednesday

Devotional Scripture

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:13-16 KJV

You Are The Light of The World

Frances Taylor

How can we be salt and light in todayโ€™s world? Jesus tells us in the last part of this passage; let people see your good works. Of course this presumes that we are doing good works and that we are not doing them to look good, but to glorify God. Everyone can recognize a hypocrite. We can tell when someone is showing off. We also can recognize people who do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Not only are we supposed to be the light of the world but to point out to others the lights in our world. So often the people we hear about are those doing the wrong thing. How often do we hear about the true heroes in the news, the people who go about their business quietly volunteering in soup kitchens, homeless shelters, after-school programs, and in so many small ways that make a big difference in peopleโ€™s lives. These are the ones who are lighting up our communities, salting our world, making a difference. This is supposed to be us. It is our job to go into our neighborhoods, our communities and make a difference by bringing our Christian values into the workplace, our families and in whatever situations we find ourselves in. These values determine the way we do our jobs, the way we raise our children and love our spouses, the way we vote and every other aspect of our lives. We are called to make a difference.

Prayer

Lord you have given us a challenge. Help us to be the salt and light you expect us to be. Amen

Night Bible Verse of the Day

June 11, 2025 Wednesday

Night Scripture

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

Genesis 13:15 KJV

Inspiration

Abram and his nephew Lot had acquired much, and now their herdsmen were quarreling over resources. Rather than let the fighting cause division, Abram offered Lot first choice of land so they could separate their herds. Lot chose what looked the best, the fertile plains of Jordan near Sodom, leaving Abram to stay in the land of Canaan.

Itโ€™s after this act of humility that God speaks this powerful promise: โ€œLift up your eyes โ€ฆ all the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.โ€ Abram had given up the best-looking land, and now God gave him all the land his eyes could take in; far more than what he had given away.

This may seem to be a simple promise about land and inheritance. But itโ€™s about Godโ€™s plan to create a nation and ultimately a pathway to the Messiah through Abramโ€™s line. Abram didnโ€™t need to sink into a scarcity mindset and grab the best for himself. He believed God would provide what was best. And in that mindset of trust, God reaffirmed His covenant that extended not only to Abram but to generations after him. This verse is a call to trust in Godโ€™s unseen plan. It teaches us that what we sacrifice in faith, God redeems in promise.

In todayโ€™s world that is obsessed with getting, claiming, and defending, Genesis 13:15 reminds us that Godโ€™s provision is not limited to what we can gain by our own strength. Often, itโ€™s in letting go, in taking the humble road, that we make room for Godโ€™s greater plan to unfold.

God is still inviting His people to lift our eyes from scarcity and short-sighted decisions and see the eternal inheritance He is preparing. That inheritance isnโ€™t just land itโ€™s a promise of peace, purpose, and a future that stretches beyond what we can measure. This is a promise of divine provision that flows from our faith and humility. When we trust God enough to release what we think we need, He responds by showing us what Heโ€™s already planned to give.

Prayer

Our dear loving Lord, thank You for being the God who sees beyond what I can imagine. Today, I lift my eyes to You, beyond my fears, my limiting beliefs, and even my desires. Help me to trust that what You have for me is better than anything I could grab for myself.
Teach me to walk in faith like Abram, to let go with grace, and trust that Your promises are sure. When I am tempted to cling to what looks good, remind me that You are the giver of every good and perfect gift. Help me not to be anxious when others seem to be getting more. May I rest in the inheritance You are unfolding for me in Your perfect timing. I trust You, God of the everlasting promise. Lead me forward in faith, patience, and joy. In Jesusโ€™ name, Amen.

Morning Bible Verse of the Day

June 12, 2025 Thursday

Morning Scripture

Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

Psalms 96:2 KJV

Inspiration

This verse reminds us that we should enter His gates with thanksgiving and come into His courts with praise. By doing so, we acknowledge He is the source of all good things and that all blessings come from Him. It also shows our gratitude and thanks to Him for His many benefits and blessings. He deserves our worship and praise for who He is and all He has done for us.

The Lordโ€™s goodness and mercy are eternal and unchanging, extending throughout all generations. Before the creation of the world, He had already made the plan to redeem humanity through the sacrifice of His beloved Son. By this gracious act, He restored the rule of mankind over His creation, through the power and achievement of His only begotten Son.

It is therefore imperative that the nations, both Jewish and Gentile, approach the gates of the Lord with a heart full of gratitude, and enter into His courts with praise. It is our duty to give thanks and to continually bless His name. This is made possible through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who through His sacrifice, has atoned for our sins and offers the word of eternal life.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I enter Your gates with thanksgiving in my heart and come into Your courts with praise. I give thanks to You and bless Your name forever. You are good and Your mercy and grace endure through all generations. I am grateful for Your grace that sought to redeem fallen mankind through the sacrifice of Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. I rejoice in the knowledge that through Him I am saved and free from the bondage of my sins.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.

Morning Devotional

June 12, 2025 Thursday

Devotional Scripture

Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

1 Kings 18:37-39 KJV

A Sign

Frances Taylor

This passage from 1Kings refers to the question of who was God โ€“ Yahweh or Baal. There had been a severe drought and the prophets of Baal set up a test with Elijah as to whether the God of Israel or Baal could end the drought. No matter how the prophets of Baal tried to bring fire to their sacrifice, they failed. As we see, when Elijah prayed, God brought fire down that consumed everything and the people believed. We have just ended the Easter Season and celebrated the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost but are we still looking for a sign?

We are given signs all the time but we need eyes of faith to see them. Theyโ€™re not as dramatic as with Elijah, but no less powerful. We hear all about the disasters that happen and donโ€™t quickly forget, but we donโ€™t always hear of the miracles that occur. We know about plane crashes when all die, but there have also been those when all lived. A mine collapses in Chile and all are rescued. A hurricane or tornado or other natural disaster occurs and millions of people work to put things right with money or volunteering their expertise, whatever it takes. All of these are signs that God is working in our world. What kind of sign do we need? There will never be an end to tragedy. So much of what is wrong in our world is a direct result of the action of people using their free will. Thereโ€™s not much we can do about that, but we can look for the little miracles that happen every day instead of the tragedies. The cancer that is caught in time, the donor match that means a person will live, the couple that has tried for years to have a child and now are pregnant, the day you were late for work and missed being involved in a terrible accident, all these are daily miracles. If we look, weโ€™ll see the signs.

Prayer

Lord, we do believe, help our unbelief. Amen.

Night Bible Verse of the Day

June 12, 2025 Thursday

Night Scripture

For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

Psalms 95:7 KJV

Inspiration

In this verse, the psalmist highlights the dominance and ownership of God over His followers. These words invite all people to understand through personal experience that the Lord is their Creator and Shepherd. By natural authority, God holds ownership over humanity, but through redemption, He holds a special bond with believers. The verse employs the image of a shepherd, representing a guiding and nurturing protector for those under their care.

We should be aware that the Almighty God is the supreme Creator of the universe and every person within it. He is the One Who molded and fashioned us into existence. God, not us, brought us into being. Those of us who have put our faith in Christ as our Savior should also acknowledge that we belong to Him as His people and His flock. As His redeemed children, we should consider ourselves dead to sin and alive in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

He is the Majestic Lord of the universe and Master Creator, enthroned above the cherubim, yet He is also our compassionate Shepherd, leading us to peaceful waters, nurturing our souls, guiding us to righteousness, and always present to help us navigate the challenges of life, even in the darkest moments.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You today, acknowledging You as the Mighty Sovereign Ruler of the universe and my great Creator. I am grateful that You formed and fashioned me in the beginning and that I am Your blood-bought child, a sheep of Your pasture. I choose to trust in You as my Saviour and to know that You lead me beside still waters, restore my soul, guide me in righteousness, and are always present to help me in times of need.

In Jesusโ€™s name I pray. Amen.
