Till now, I’ve tried a variety of things to win over my long stuck habit of PMO. But what I realised is that most people, including me, never really knew what we were aiming for. The moment I saw myself being PMO free, almost immediately there was a trailing thought about the low chances of this being true. Also, there were many reasons to it. One of the prime ones being that there are just too many triggers in our surroundings to avoid/kill.
So firstly it was really important to know why this was happening. Even though we stop fapping, we have nightfalls. So why is the body behaving the way it is. Also, has it been the same thing with the previous generations as well?
So I dug deeper into this. I’ve been associated with this organisation called Brahma Kumaris for a while now. And that was basically the key for me to overcome my addictions and weaknesses.
Now what I basically realised was that all the mess that has been created are nothing but the habits of a weak mind and the dependency of the soul to cling to lust. But the interesting part is, that our ancestors or the previous generations did not have this mess in their lives. This was primarily due to their thought process (and external stimuli of course).
Now came the part where I had to correct my thought process. This had a lot to do with my self image and my dependencies. I realised that everything in the society pushes me towards getting a partner, having sex and this was basically being glorified. When this was the case, the mind automatically wanted this to be true, therefore clinging on to things like ■■■■ etc. It was so bad that I used to see a girl walking on the street and wanted to jerk off. I mean isn’t this criminal to some extent? This exact thought used to push me in guilt which is a personality killer. Guilt kills your confidence. So self empathy is also really important here. It’s okay man, you were caught up in the wrong generation that is all. Doesn’t mean it cannot be changed. It can and will be changed. We just have to improve our consumption.
Now consumption is done from our 5 senses. That is eyes, ears, mouth, skin and nose. From eyes, create a habit of not watching media in general. It’s really good to spend time outdoors and read books. Just make a habit of not watching videos. Because there are very subtle triggers hidden in videos which triggers dopamine. It’s a slow process but really effective. From mouth, eat less. Do a fasting (highly recommended). Food carries the biggest chunk of emotional energy for us. The person who creates it has some vibrations which is transferred to the food all the time. If that is lustful, you are bound to get those thoughts. Similarly for the other senses. Recognise the triggers and convert them. If unable to do so, stop them.
I have a lot of points about meditation and brain healing/rewiring which I’ve noted down. I’ll keep updating the post whenever I get time.
