Should I delete this app?

I love this app, the community is super supportive. But the problem is that I think I’m using this app too much. I disabled youtube because I used it too much, disabled chrome because of my relapse. Another thing that this app keeps reminding me that I am a porn addict, I think I could forget the fact if there is nothing that keeps counting my streaks. So I think I don’t need this app anymore.

I want your opinion on this matter. Should I delete this app?

Ya its hard sometimes to look at the counter cause it reminds you that you don’t have a long streak or that your still struggling even when you feel like your not, but trust me it’s a ploy your brain uses to get you to fap. It’s better to remember how far you have come and how far you need to go to keep yourself strong.

Plus, when your connected to community, it can act as a better reminder not to relapse when urges come.

But if you feel like you are spending too much time just on your phone with the app, maybe set a certain time of the day that you are allowed to be on it, but for the rest of the day just put it away and occupy your mind with another activity

Hope that helps!

You think you are the first one to have this thought, guess what? We all had the same dilemma after using this app for long. Should I delete it or not?
I tell you what happened with me when I deleted it. I was on day 60 when I started having this thought. I even wrote about it in my diary which I will share at the end of this post. Basically I thought that nothing can make me fap. But you know what happened? I relapsed in mere 6 days time. On day 66, I completely lost it and mastrubated. After that also, I didn’t come to this app. I tried of doing nofap on my own. I got some small streaks on 7-10 days, but not more than that. I was very depressed and disheartened in that phase. Then I came to a startling realization. I was relapsing so much coz I had no accountability. I had no support from the community. I was thinking that I can fight this addiction all by myself, but reality is, pmo is stronger than any of us. Then I again joined the app and community. I again started becoming active. Now I am 84 days clean, hard mode, all because of the support of this community.

You think you are free from the addiction, but mark my words brother, you are still an addict.
I will suggest anyone who is planning to leave this app, stay a little while, like about 1000days and then if you want you can leave. Before that is just inviting pmo back into the life.

The app gives you the necessary tools to monitor your habbit to be honest why hate something that has the intentional purpose of benefiting you? It is your opinion and I respect that by we can’t go on no gap without help nor a counter and a journal it’s all part of the process and my advice is to trust the process.

I am on day 3 right now, my previous streaks were 34 days and 53 days. I wanted to do nofap a long before I downloaded this app, and I just couldn’t take nofap seriously that time. It was the time when I would fap every 2nd day and feel sad for what I did. But this community supported me in every aspects whenever I was sad, confused about things and this was the reason I went as far as 54 days in my first attempt, that’s right, FREAKING FIRST ATTEMPT. I need some suggestions on how to control my app usage because I use it too much, you will notice me online most of the time in the day. Need help guys

There is no certainty to it. One can either choose to stay here and help others or can decide to move on with their lives and close this chapter of mastrubation from their lives. Anyhow, we can discuss more on this when you reach day1000😉

You can use the StayFocused app and limit the time you spend on this app to let’s say 15 minutes a day. If things are too bad you can get the paid version and get someone else to lock the settings for you with a password.

I don’t think it’s in general a great idea to stop using this app altogether and “forget” about your goal unless you truly feel you have rebooted and not at risk anymore (because your lifestyle and mindset have permanently changed, for instance).

This app does not remind you that you are a porn addict, it only reminds you of where you are in the course of solving your problem. I am at 163 days and use this app for a little bit every day - it doesn’t make me feel like a porn addict. YMMV.

Wow thanks for sharing that @aapoorv75 about your journal. It’s pretty crazy being able to read your thoughts as you progressed through your journey. And it’s really weird how similar your experiences are to mine, in completely different countries.

My college experience was exactly the same and then I made it super far but then I deleted the app after forgetting my password. Relapsed not more than a week or so later.

Now I’m getting back on track, but wow it’s amazing how much this community really makes a difference!

I wish you luck man, @aapoorv75 and @Oggyboi08 @SickBoy! Add me if you guys want, my sharing code is a06153
