Risinglion123 in the pursuit of becoming IAS Officer

Hi uday , Welcome to the community. From the four , I selected Gateforum academy because among the four. It have the highest rating with maximum no. of reviews. Also its the nearest to my house.

I don’t have an exact reason associated with it. It’s more like a gut feeling than from a rational one. About 2 -3 days ago , I read about the advantage of an IAS officer with an M.TECH degree in which the whole writing is about an interview with an IAS officer with M.tech.

I will share it with you if I find it again. I’ve just written the notes associated with it. You are right. Only basic degree is necessary for UPSC. But it is still possible to write for UPSC after M.tech.

I am a General category which means I can only write UPSC till 31 and I can have only 6 attempts. After M.tech , I will be 24 or maybe 25. So my gut feeling says me M.tech before UPSC. And I am really motivated associated with it. Maybe I can find a definite reason later .

Daily journal

Woke up at 6 AM. While waiting for the bus, saw some crows eating winged termites ( We call it eeyal in Malyalam ) since its rainy these days. I was noticing those crows with a lot of enthusiasm with unknown reason.

The actions done by those crows fascinated me. It might sound awkward , but the way the eyes of the crows looks like eyes of MS DHONI going to leap a helicopter shot. They are super vigilant in what they do. I also saw a crow helping another crow get those termites. Small stuffs like this start to notice me like anything.

Also I have not been using Google and YouTube for a month. I only used Google in my college library to get some information about nearby coaching centres. Maybe this would be the reason to focus on small things like this.

Reached home , worked out and meditated . Slept at 8 30 unfortunately. I am feeling super tired after workout after coming back to college.

So I am thinking of giving myself some rest days during weekdays instead of weekends

Bro they ask it in interview. That why didn’t you started preparing upsc just then. They will not accept gut feeling…

Daily journal

Woke up at 6 AM. It was heavily raining outside. Rushed to catch all the bus and got it in nick of time. But I like this , I want some excitement like this. By parents hate this. I don’t want to live like the same everyday.

I believe its important to be consistent in some stuff every day, maybe some good habits like reading books , meditate etc but I also need some things that makes my day unique.

With some self reflection, it’s not that I hate Studies, it’s the unhealthy competition and living the life in the same way is what I hate.
Anyway studied for like 7 hours , thought of giving myself a break from discipline today , watched Puzhu ( Which means Worm , a Malyalam movie) and Dr. Strange 2 and dozed off to sleep :sleeping:

Woke at 9 am because I slept late yesterday watching Dr. Strange yesterday. Honestly I have exactly nothing to say regarding yesterday because yesterday was next to zero significance. My productivity was next to zero. Am I distracted ? No. My distraction is next to nil these days. You won’t believe me but I was daydreaming for an entire day.

As I mentioned, I was not using Google and YouTube for almost a month , 32 days to be exact. How ? I have scheduled a digital detox for 23 hours a day with some white listing of some apps. This detox breaks at 3am and starts at 4 am everyday because of the least probability that I am awake during that time.

Anyway added two habits to my daily routine. Daily affirmations and wake before 8 am. Finished book LWT by Robin Sharma. Going to read " The Monk who sold his ferrari " by Robin Sharma from tomorrow onwards .

I think I am experiencing strong flatline associated with no fap and rewiring of my brain due to absence of social media these days. But I cant tell this as an excuse for my unproductive day.

What I learnt from this ? Well Nothing. Laziness is a complicated phenomenon. Sometimes only willpower helps. But I believe making a new decision to wake up early can be a great choice since we have a good start in the beginning

Woke up at 7.30. I took the decision of being downstairs during the remaining part of the day so that I am being watched by parents which I believe to be a remedy for laziness.

But my parents gone outside and I was alone in my home. No entertainment , No dopamine and I don’t felt like studying at all. Blocking Google and YouTube is one of the difficult decisions I made in my life. But I believe, once I am adapted to it , it’s worth it.

So out of boredom, I peeked for some pics. Fortunately not to porn. How ?

I have my laptop with me. Even my laptop has its Google and YouTube blocked. Why I am focusing on Google and YouTube is because this would be one of my ultimate attempts when it comes to No fap.

What I did is that , I downloaded Brave browser from uptodown.com , Then I downloaded You Tube. I peeked for like 4 to 5 hours straight but later got senses and escaped from that eternal loop.

I later blocked Brave browser and uptodown in order to prevent future mistakes. Then during the remaining part of the day, I was fighting with my own mindset not to PMO. Meditation and Reading helped but not fully.

The good thing is that I added 2 habits to my habits list. Learnt from mistakes. Eliminated future threats and currently practising myself to see grey between black and white which is been added as habit list.

What I meant from this habit is to escape from the unfavourable loop associated with all abstinence habits so that if negative consequence happened, it would be less threatening

Then what is the use of blocking youtube if you have to be go back to it again and you just got into a new PMO loop you didn’t escape it.

Bro , I blocked the website www.youtube.com so there’s no way I can access that website. But what I did is I downloaded YouTube app instead of entering the website using Brave extensions

Now I blocked both the extension and website to prevent future mistakes

Daily journal

Woke up at 6 AM. Fortunately nothing unfavourable happened. Gone to college , reached home , worked out, meditated. Since I had an audition for classical music , I have to upload the song online and sent it to the people who is in charge of the event associated with it.

Studied for 1 hour then , but unfortunately dozed off to sleep in the middle of my Studies because I was super tired. Then I woke up at 2 AM and saw a firefly in my stomach. I was startled and jumped from the sofa. Then I rushed to my bedroom and continued my sleep

One thing I noticed is that when I work out , meditate and practise classical music the moment after I reach to home after college , I really become tired in such a way that I just want to sleep. No more energy to study.

So I should make some plans in such a way that I can reduce some activities during the latter part of the day so that I can have enough energy to study properly. I am looking for a plan , but currently found none. Hope I can come out with a better decision and more importantly executing it.

I have an extension called Cold Turked Blocker added to my pc whose sole purpose is to block the website you wish to block. But this is a hardcore extension bro. I would only recommend you if you are serious regarding your decision. This is more like the Laptop version of Digital detox app.

Why I am saying this is because once you start your detox mode , there’s no way you can get out of it. So its effective and precautionary at the same time.
