Hi all!
The top 3 questions I get, and have been getting since I started talking about NoFap and quitting p**n, have always been…
I did insert some borderline activity, was it a relapse?
Is having a wet dream considered a relapse?
I just relapsed on insert day, am I back to zero?
I can already tell you that, yes of course we want to stop relapsing, especially if we are addicted to p**n.
However, this mindset of “being back to zero”, has to change.
It just has to!
Especially when it comes to a bit longer streaks, say 45 days plus.
Because you learn something on every streak.
You learn something about NoFap and about life in general, and you take that knowledge with you to your next streak.
Also, in terms of your brain health, one small relapse doesn’t wipe out all the healing you’ve done on a longer streak.
Now, it’s a bit different if you keep relapsing every week. Then, sure, you are pretty much spinning your wheels in terms of brain health.
But brain health is not the only metric when we measure success. What about all the things you learn, and discover?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we should neglect brain health. No, for many that should be their biggest goal, I’m just saying it’s not the ONLY thing.
So, this idea of being back to zero is never really fair, as we need to look at the bigger picture.
Plus it causes so much mental pain.
In general, we move forward in life. Things happen, but we keep on moving forward, and as far as I’m concerned, there’s no ‘zero’ in life.
The only day zero was when we were born.
And even then it wasn’t really day zero, but actually day one 
Just keep…moving…forward and fear Allah.
