Porn scale (no trigger), need opinions about it!

Hi guys,
I had an interesting thought this morning that I wanted to share with you. I created a “porn scale” that classifies porn categories by seriousness. I think we should all have a look at it and see at what level we were before we started the NoFap journey. Maybe people who are still addicted could try to climb the ladder, going from hardcore porn to soft, and then abstinence. Whatever, here’s the scale:

:fire: level 0: Abstinence :fire:

:green_heart: Soft Porn category :green_heart:
level -1: looking beautiful people with lust, IRL or in photos
level -2: looking suggestive photos of sexually attractive people with lust, includes seeing pictures of women in bikini, swimsuits or “sexy” outfits. For women using this scale, this level would also include looking photos of bare-chested men or men in underwear/swimming trunks.
level -3: watching nudes pictures or videos, but no sex

:yellow_heart: Mild porn category :yellow_heart:
level -4: watching photos or videos of people masturbating, no sex
level -5: watching “regular” porn, featuring 2 or more people having any form of sex, but without violence or humiliation of men/women
level -6: watching gay, lesbian, LGBT or any kind of transgender or TG content. This includes photos, videos, comics or any kind of material, but without violence or humiliation.

:red_circle: Hardcore porn category :red_circle:
level -7: watching any kind of zoophilic content, featuring people and animals having sex, but without violence. Also includes content considering people as animals.
level -8: watching any kind of “object” porn. This includes content considering people as objects (strong humiliation, shaming), or even watching objects for self-pleasure, or people transforming into objects (yes this actually exists).

:black_circle: Extreme porn category :black_circle:
note: These types of porn are ILLEGAL and can lead you to illegality, prison or fines.
level -9: Any kind of porn featuring paedophilia, meaning sex scenes including children under 16.
level -10: Any kind of porn featuring violence or extreme violence, blood, scatophilia, dead bodies, sex slaves, mutilation, murder or suicide. This is the most extreme type of porn.

Important notice:
This scale can adapt to gay/lesbian people. You would simply need to switch around the gay/lesbian porn level with the “regular” porn level. However, all transgender or TG content would stay at the same level, unless you are a transgender yourself. In that case, you would have to switch it around with “regular” porn, but leaving the gay/lesbian porn at its original level. In case you are bisexual, you would have to put the gay/lesbian content at the same level as “regular” porn, but leave TG content at its original level. If you recognise yourself as a memeber of one of these categories and don’t agree with me, please tell me how I could change the scale for you, I have very few experience in this domain. If you are part of a community that is not represented here, please tell me about it and how it could be adapted for you. This system has the vocation of being useful for every type of person, without discrimination.

Do you agree with my scale? Where were you before starting NoFap? Maybe you have different opinions on certain porn types, depending on your religion or origin? Please let me know, feedback is very important. I hope this scale will help many people understand more clearly at what point they are addicted to porn and how to get out of it.
Good luck to all of you

Good scale
For me any kind of porn is a relapse

This scale is awesome, I think it could be integrated into app aswell. Like having a questionnaire which will decide user’s level of addiction. Then that level can be shown in the user’s profile. This way someone can get an idea of how bad his/her companion’s level of addiction was/is.

Hi I think it’s a good scale, what I don’t understand is why lesbian and gay content should be worse then “regular” porn. I have gay friends and my opinion this just sounds homophobic

He’s talking about somone who is normally straight, but they start watching gay/lesbian porn. He’s not meaning it in a homphobic way, he’s just saying if you start watching porn of that nature as a straight person that you’re in the addiction more @einar

It is exactly what @Radio said. I built this scale thinking about many criterias, and one of them was self-esteem. You can notice that watching “regular” porn lowers your self-esteem because you are not the person having sex. The thing with lesbian/gay porn is that by seeing only people of the opposite sex having intercourse, you are even more different from them, which destroys your self-esteem even more. The same goes for sex scenes involving animals, objects or children. They are even more toxic because of the increasing difference.
But I see what you mean and I will add a notice for gay or non-straight people. Of course, for a gay person, gay porn and “regular” porn would be inverted. Please do not see any homophobic content here, this scale was originally meant for straight people, who represent the majority of the people around here.
Thanks for the contribution anyway, it will make the scale better and more complete!
Good luck in your nofap journey my friend

This idea is fantastic! However, I think we should add an option for people to choose whether or not they want other people to see their level. I know it can be humiliating to aknowledge that you were watching some really weird stuff.
I was also thinking about adding positive numbers. These would be steps to follow in order to help people get less addicted, like going to the gym regularly, playing a music instrument, meditating or reading/studying.
My system is but a prototype for now, I am sure that with people’s help and feedback, we can make it better and use it to actually help people make their lives better!

Sorry for the harsh remark, some of my friends and two of my cousins are gay so it’s kinda a sore subject for me. But I get what you mean
Good luck to you to my friend

I am addicted to porn till level 6 . And I wasted my 10 years in porn till 6 level . I was very interested in lesbian porn and deep down pray to God like why did god not make me girl ? How porn changed my mental perspective ?

But now no more addict like lesbian porn.

Can you actually see how you went down the scale my friend, one step after the other? Now it is time to climb it again, until you have achieved abstinence! But don’t worry, many people around here (including me) have come down to much deeper levels.

@einar he is absolutely right brother . I am straight guy . And when I was heavy addicted to lesbian porn I pray God for why he did not make me girl .

Lesbian porn changed my mental perspective . But now I dont watch porn like lesbian . On that time I wasted the whole night in watching lesbian porn .

Brother I started watching soft porn . But slowly slowly my addiction rised for porn . I had high speed internet . Once I reached at the level where I did not like normal porn . I watched gang rape , lesbian , watching porn like where tourcherd girl . And seeing all this I felt happy .

I wasted my hours in selecting porn .

We have all been through there man. This is the reason why I created this system, so that people could understand better how they arrived to watch such extreme stuff or feel gay/lesbian just because they feel so bad (doesn’t mean all gays/lesbians are like that tho)

Which day you are on nofap right now ?

I am on day 2 currently

Great effort and idea @pierretomas18 - also would love to see this idea be incorporated in the app courtesy of @Taher and this will let us know exactly what “relapse” is to individual companions and see progress over time.

Also, just wanted to mention that I dont agree with you here:

You cant get into the city if you stay in the gutter. It HAS TO BE cold turkey… flirting with variable dosage is the ADDICT mind talking… so no need to climb up any ladders… burn it and take the no-pemos (porn edging masturbation orgasm and any sex-related activity) elevator up!

Sorry for my ignorance I didn’t read right last time

As per level consideration I was at level 6
But sometimes I move up and down consider this it was 19 years addiction but I shocked when I see it was a mild category

So I want to ask any experience member how much time it will take for reboot
I am currently at day 64
Thanks

Hi @weir and @Thedevil,
Since you 2 were in the mild category, but at low levels of it, 100 days clean streak would do it for a reboot. However, for the temptation to become really extinct (I mean at its lowest possible point, because no temptation is impossible), you would have to go on NoFap for 6-7 months I guess. Only speaking from personal experience, the results may vary from person to person

Great idea, but we shouldn’t kid ourselves about objectification - every level is always that.

Keep impartial while working on this
