Ahoy! This is my diary and I’ll rate my day based on the tasks & habits that I accomplished/avoided. Apparently, there would be days when I’ll fall but I want to fall forward, and that’s why I made this. I want to see if I’m making progress. If the strategy and consistency are effective and obvious and when will be the time to change.

My Story

Why do I want to make a change?

Pornography has undeniably ruin my mental clarity since I learn that it exists. The first time I saw one was when I was roughly 8-9 years old. It wasn’t a regular porn per se. There was a story build up, an intimate one and it was about rape victim (wtf is this woman watching). I was shocked because I didn’t know what was happening. I’ve seen it in an internet cafe (public), therefore, I guess it’s nobodys fault (I don’t want to blame, but I hope I never seen it) That’s when the curiosity builds up. Through the years, my horniness grows all the more after learning masturbation and various pornsites. I remembered I was watching porn whenever a strike of opportunity appeared.

With this bad habit became more intense day by day, I wasn’t aware that there was a payment to all of this. My mental clarity skewed gradually. I became irritated, hopeless, sad, angry, and anything you can think of. I thought I was just enjoying this discovery. But, it’s the other way around. I felt like I had no purpose and only living as is. It affected my lifestyle and behavior at best. I remembered whenever I encounter a small inconvenience, I feel the need to slap somebody (lmao).

Fast forward,
For the past three years, I was practicing no PMO. Building streaks, techniques (all) to delay gratification in this sense. It was going pretty well, I’d say. It was part of the process of self-development. Further, I’m already grasping the idea of tansmuting sexual energy to creative pursuit as well as productivity.

Although, It seems to me that I’m playing tug of war with pornography & urges. And they are force ahead of me at times. Reason? I’m focusing to it a little to much and it appears that the more I resist, the more I’m feeding it (kind of). So, what my goal is to let go of the rope at once.

Reflection:

Semestral break has started last monday and I have at least 40 days to make things in order before another group of courses starts. I want to learn to accompany these habits during class days as it is becoming erratic when I’m in one and it feels like I’m once again back to square one. Of course I’ll make this one day at a time and make necessary changes along the way.

  • Today’s was extremely productive. I had fun cooking and it tasted delicious at least for me. The morning and night ritual are essential and I want to reap its benefits so bad.

Reflection:

I should keep in mind the cue → routine → reward. I had a lot of cues before reaching for a tissue (routine). In this journey, my actual goal is to beat/equalize my last streak. And today marks a 3-day streak.

Today’s was fulfilling. I shopped for the necessities in my house. I’m always ecstatic when I go shopping, even if it’s window shopping. I also cooked and it was tasty.

I procrastinated a little too much in the morning and it made me rush the tasks that I needed to do. On a positive note, I still finish it all off. Currently, I can’t sleep at 9:40 because I am in a funeral and can’t really do anything about it. But, tomorrow I’ll make sure to wake up at 5:25.

It was a slow start for the day. I woke up at 8:40, I mentioned that I had to wake up at 5:25 but the sleep won’t suffice. Despite all of that, I managed to have a general home cleaning. It felt fantastic afterwards.

Reflection:

I would consider this day as one of those unproductive ones despite having a 80.77% rate because I find myself watching a tv show for straight hours and it made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough for the day. But I’d also like to view it as a rest day. Furthermore, I noticed my no PMO strategy isn’t going as planned and I easily swayed by sudden whims. Reason: there is no definite long term goal.

So, I won’t count days anymore.

My triggers on watching porn (so far):

  • Reward to a very productive day (shift)
  • Isolating too much
  • Spending ample amount of time in social media
  • A “bad” morning.
  • Changing the goal back and forth
  • A stressful day
  • Too much curiosity

Mindfulness is paramount in the process.

The “To do” list was kind of messy. It was supposed to be done chronologically although there is no problem in doing the otherwise as long as I’m able to finished it, however, it is also one of the causes of procrastination, I presume. I was busy as well - assisting my father setting up an equipment.

Reflection:

I don’t know how to fight procrastination now. I was hook in the tv show that I’m currently watching and the “one more episode. I want to know what happened next” is always present but I’m trying to delay that by doing task after an episode and watch again after finishing the task :3. I feel like it won’t work this way but I’m trying my best to fight it.

I haven’t practicing solving since the start of this self-challenge. I’ll do this task today.

It just you can assign a task for yourself and accomplish it before the TV show, so you get the feeling of contentment.

I felt great after achieving 92.31% in three consecutive days. But, I promised yesterday, that I’ll be going to solve some equations but I hadn’t had the tenacity to start. Overall, it was indeed a productive one.

Reflection:
I had a little too much time wasted after and during waking time. I fixed the bed at 6:30 am. I listened and watched motivational videos of stoicism and buddhism and it made me slow down somehow. I did grocery shopping and after that I did the laundry and every household chores that needed to be accomplished. The feeling after finishing those was rewarding.

Reflection:

I finished the tasks and I really felt amazing afterwards. I made balance as much as possible (work → break → work) and I think it works this time. Furthermore, I’m growing fond of cold showers. I thought it was a pain the first time I did it, but it was indeed refreshing.

Reflection:

I woke up at 2:50 am and we went to a seaside. It was extremely peaceful - the waves, the birds, and everything. It’s just that it was too crowded. I enjoyed the moment because this hasn’t happened in a long time. Then, we were home at 11:00 am and I went back to sleep. In this time, I let my guard down. I woke up and fap. I discover another trigger. Anyhow, the rest of the day became unproductive, I planned to general clean today but I didn’t had the energy to start. Lol.

My triggers on watching porn (so far):

  • Reward to a very productive day (shift)
  • Isolating too much
  • Spending ample amount of time in social media
  • A “bad” morning.
  • Changing the goal back and forth
  • A stressful day
  • Too much curiosity
  • Unusual start of the day
  • Cold weather (+rainy)

(Must look out for these)

Reflection:
I thought this day would be different, but it somehow appears as the continuation of unproductivity yesterday. The bad habits particularly my attitude was getting out of hand. I’m practically judging and so, I decided to delete my social media accounts (not youtube & reddit & this) although I regretted it afterwards because I forgot to announce it to my friends and family. Now, I have to create a new one, but let it stay that way for now. Further, I cleaned the house.
