Saturday Check-in

Even though I haven’t relapsed, I’m not great at the moment. I’ve wasted time by dwelling on negative thoughts and wanting easy dopamine.

I can’t sit around worrying.

Worry is a pointless and useless emotion.
Being attentive and thinking critically are useful.

Busy day today, let’s stand tall, and be giving, enriching others’ lives.
Be aware of vulnerabilities, mine and others’

I want to be able to say “yeah, I used to use ■■■■, and weed. I’m glad that behind me now. I hope nobody has to go through that”

I don’t want to contribute to the ■■■■ market, making them money by my clicks, they are making it easier to destroy vulnerable peoples’ lives. :fist:

Heyy guys…i personally experienced Sunday can be a holyday where u can give yourself a day of rest or it can be potentially a dangerous if u allow ur mind to enter with thoughts of pleasure seeking because you don’t hv anything to do on Sunday…most of relapses happens on Sunday when there is nothing to do…this is the time to guard ourselves to the best by meditation, reading books, taking short naps in afternoon, cold shower and try to spend time in sunlight in morning and take a walk in evening so that u don’t lie on bed doing nothing and then unknowingly start something which u really don’t want to…if you ever feel that something bad is going to happen…just come and post here, all our brothers are here to save each other from falling in this trap… Happy and healthy Sunday…see you tomorrow stronger for next week… keep walking…never give up

Sunday Check-in

Had a great day Saturday.
We had a gathering, big Indian feast, Barfi, Baklava, drinks and good conversations.

I stayed up very late until the early hours of Sunday morning in deep conversation with my lovely atheist friend.
Was very social and drank a lot, but noticed how clear and present my mind was in conversation.

I generally don’t drink a lot, nor stay up late, nor engage in late night socialising.
I usually go to Mass daily, exercise, work, spend time looking after my elderly friend, get involved in Church music groups and hang out with some of my dear catholic friends for coffee and lunch.

This morning I was extremely hung over, missed Church, and still wasn’t good enough to go to evening Mass.

It was a good night, I was funny, enjoyed the company of friends I don’t usually hang out with often and received some praise/encouragement, because they were like “why do you never come to the pub? Girls would go crazy for you” and my dear atheist friend hinting at my faith, as if it was something I was raised with or lead a life of guilt about sex :joy:
It was actually a sufi I got chatting to online years ago, who encouraged me to find communion with God and spiritual discipline in my closet surroundings, rather than going for exotic spirituality on my own.

Conclusion ~
Thanks be to God!!!
It’s fun to be in those wild social times, but only on occasion.
