Binary porn-brain status

My brain has only two states related to porn. It is absolutely binary.
BPS (Binary Porn-brain Status)
BPS=0 means no porn at all, no pics, no vids, nothing related to porn, far away from porn.
BPS=1 means deep in porn, I want more pics, more vids, never is enough, nothing is important apart from porn.

There is nothing in between. I lie myself telling there is a status where I can see a little of porn and control it. But experience says it is a big lie. Ever, absolutely ever I start looking porn I enter in a deep obsessive vortex of porn neglecting everything else.

I´ll actualice in my status everyday my BPS.

That it happend to you?

Day 1. BPS=0
Today I have detected some thoughts trying to carry me to flip BPS to 1. But, knowing there is only 0 or 1, I stoped them.
It is working!
It is too soon to decide, but it look quite a good tool. Today a battle is won, let’s see if I win the war.

you’re doing such a great job. at the beginning you seemed pretty desperate and i didn’t feel any of the power you have.
i was worried that you won’t be able to do it. it’s amazing seeing you fighting with so much power. now i’m sure that you will be able to fight this addiction!

We keep our brain in off-porn mode, understanding there is only two modes: off-porn and on-porn. We write it on our status in app. If we decide to see porn, even only a pic or a vid, we change previously our status in the app to on-porn mode. But we keep ourselves far away form any kind of porn if our status is off-porn in the app.
My status=off-porn, and yours?

My compromise: If I decide to see any porn I will first change my status here to onporn and give at least one reason for it. I have failed in many compromises, but I’ll try hard to keep this one.

I think your idea is very drastic and brave but maybe it’s a little too hard when you are just coming out of a long addition, the mind as we all have experienced, is very hard to master and for people that are just coming out of the addiction, getting rid completely of it would be almost impossible in my opinion, in my case i haven’t masturbated, but I’ve failed sometimes peeking and i don’t think it should count as a relapse because the idea is learning how to control the urges and i’m controling them, so maybe your idea is better for people with a longer streak that have already learned to master their urges and that just want a more strict mindset.

Just as an example, I’ve made some diets plans to friends, 100% of them failed to follow because is a too drastic change to their lifes, so i find it easier to take the bad things from their current diet one by one: stop the desserts, then stop the sodas, then regulate the carbs, etc. This way it was easier for them to get used to a new diet, slowly but with a real progress instead of forcing themselves to change too much, so i think for the people that are too deep in pmo it would be a more realistic way to progress for example to make small goals starting with 3 days, a week, 2 weeks, etc. It worked for me and i’m almost in my first month which is my lifetime record after 12 years of addiction.

Each one is different. But for me when I start peeking a little I ever finish in a vortex of porn. Maybe is just for me, but I can’t watch only a little of porn, for me is nothing or all. Maybe this method only would work for binary brains like mine. I don’t even know if it is going to work with me, it is a difficult day for me.

I tried something like that some months ago. I recorded time inverted on porn each week. It was going down, but went up again after some months. I suppose it deppends of the person and the kind of addiction. I know people that stopped smoking suddenly, in one day, and others that had to reduce it slowly. The few cases I know, the radical approach was more succesfull, the others came back after some time.

I wrote you that in private message but I think I repeat for everyone.

What I think is that you have to be “binary” if it comes to watching porn. I don’t think anyone can watch a porn for 5min and than quit and it also doesn’t make too much sense to allow oneself to watch everyday for 5min. I think that the smallest step in quitting is not watching porn at all. But especially if someone isn’t able to not watch porn for a week it is really important not to change too much at once
@ruz92 that’s exactly why I’m not sure about the whole trend towards hardmode for beginners. It’s so hard to change the whole mindset right from the beginning.

@kamafeo I would join you but I think in my case, i would be always on 0. I learned to efficiently change my thoughts as soon as a porn image comes into my mind. It takes my some seconds and everything is gone.
