Nah I get what you mean. It’s understandable. I was only speaking on behalf of those who masturbates without enganging in sexual thoughts or fantasy, which I know is unrealistic and rare in occurence. Dont get me wrong, I only choose hard mode when I abstain - All or Nothing.
Even fantasy tends to turn women on more, despite them being less visual oriented in comparison. It is true however, there is no single passage in the Bible which directly links to the act of masturbation (frm what ive learned over the years). I might be wrong.

- Seeking pleasure in a way God never meant us to.
Also, Paul mentiones that Of sexual immorality, let there not even be a hint among you . While masturbation is not immorality, it is not sexually glorifying God.

The way I understand masterbation as a “sin” it isn’t a sin at all.
BUT it can be as well and it could be done if porn, sex and masterbation becomes more important than God. Well with everything it works in the same way.
Because this deed replaces God for this new kinda of god which is pleasure. Exodus 20: 3-5
See the other thing if you read in Leviticus 15: 16-17 … Awesome verse as God knows we are going to masterbate as we sexually mature the wisdom of Him is evident here. Sure we are seen as UNCLEAN not “unholy”. And you’ll be clean by the next day if you wash yourself and the stuff your semen has touched. This also occurs for sex further in the chapter. Sex which God made for us makes us an unclean act.
But this must be taken into account what God’s plan and will is for sex and masterbation in general. We poisoned it with porn even further. Hence this is were we tap into bigger sin Exodus 20: 14; 17 with adultery and desire on another man’s wife for sexual pleasure as seen on the screen.
Masterbating in itself isn’t a sin, but your intention with it determines the outcome.
Also the importance is God teaches in
Gal 5 : 16- 26 this. Self-control.
Yes it does say don’t fall for your desires, but again it is with the intent behind your act to make it a sin. So again if it becomes a god to you, if you commit it to do adultery or desire another man’s wife. Then it becomes a sin. It is not the act as I said but the intention with the act.

@Cubenix Brother it’s not talking about masturbation. It’s talking about nightly emmisions. Check out any reputated commentary (I checked out atleast 7 different ones).
A repetition is Deuteronomy 23:10- nightly emmisions.
It was common in ancient cultures besides Israel, for example Egypt, for people with nocturnal emissions to be considered unclean. Not masturbating. The only thing close to masturbation mentioned before this is in Genesis 38:9-10 and the person responsible is killed.
Hey @debellator it does reference a man’s seed or in some version semen he sheds well true yeah it does mention in a text earlier prior of any emmition out of the penis makes you unclean but that specific verse out of Leviticus 15 verses 16 - 17 it explicitly says of a man’s seed or semen . Well, this obviously doesn’t say a man is masterbating and is unclean in direct words, but obviously how will it be expelled otherwise?? Does sperm just jump out?
Well, it could only happen in 3 places were semen is discharged , sex, nightfalls and masterbation. Obviously if it is an ‘unclean’ cloth were the semen touches obviously is were you spilled some or wiped clean afterwards. No direct words needed as it is self explanation and kinda obvious for us.
@Cubenix I suggest you look through some resources for the verse, where it is interpreted with Biblical, historical and cultural context.

Here is the verses of LEVITICUS 15 : 16- 17

Nice the link added verse 18 as well and here it is more directly said if a guy and girl have sex they are unclean. Just read verses 16 and 17 … Yes from verses 2- 14 it does speak of the emmitions and laws or rules about them as you mentioned but it is besides the point here and is shown explicit with in the bible of semen or a man’s seed. Reference it to your bible too if you don’t believe me. I checked my the english, my native language and german and all of them either mentioned specifically semen or a man’s seed in verses 16-18 which I sourced.
I don’t twist the bible, I gave you the precise same thing the bible braught you plus some insight. The insight isn’t that important as it is a mere interpretation to try and understand what this verse ment. But we as guys know what happens and also as I said in a earlier post, basic common sense why stuff is unclean.
Hope this will explain it more and to debunk my “fakeness” as I don’t know what to say more then just to read the entire verse 15 and discover verses 16- 18 yourself. Point is I don’t change the bible for an argument I gave it like it is plus what I think. What i think is sortof irrelevant, because the bible is 100% the true measurement towards our deeds and is the truth. No 50-50 as what I said masterbation is not a sin in itself, but it is dependent on the intent of the deed that makes it a sin or not.

I’m not sure why you set out to prove its about semen either, since I never said the verse didn’t speak about that because semen is what comes out in nocturnal emissions. The biblical scholars, multiple ones agree that it should most likely refer to nocturnal emissions, and I think so too, since if it referred to masturbation, males would be unclean ALOT more of the time! How would they even fight wars?

It’s just that for me it’s wrong because it seeks pleasure away from God and in a way He never intended us to.
I’m not inferring that it’s wrong from this passage in Leviticus. It’s from other passages, not talking about masturbation, but about God is the source of our joy, and he has created ways in which we can rightfully further it.
In fact, biologically, masturbation occasionally is arguably okay. Just down to belief.
If you are convinced otherwise, and your conscience is at peace with God, keep going man!

Dude I don’t wanna argue if you read it and i say it is a 50/50 sin. Depends on the intent on it. I proved that it is semen due to the fact that you point out too many historical views of only the emittions.
Point stands what I also wanna point out to this is God is very wise and He knows we are going to masterbate and have sex an obvious course of our lives.“nature takes it’s course”. And it ain’t deemed as wrong as long as your act don’t defile God.
The way I view the other verses is that it’s ment to guide us so we don’t do adultery or do our sexual acts in the public as it is ment as a sacred thing. Even God blessed us to be fruitful and multiply. And as well avoid prostitution and now in our mordern lives porn. The other thing is how are we ment to learn or to sound weird “practice sex”? I mean we ain’t like the other animals and God wants us to come of age and we have to glorify Him in only have 1 partner as He ment us to have it.
I mean it doesn’t mentioned it directly but it is obvious and like I said it is only possible for semen to get out in 3 ways, sex, masterbation and nightfalls. It is an indirect view as we as mature guys obviously knows this.

How else are you loving God even the bible says to love God is to follow His commandments.

But I have masterbated for many years and I didn’t desire it to do it after porn or because of a girl. I was young and stupid when it came to sex eventhough I could write 100 essays on it to kniw what goes on biologically, physically and yes I know the spiritual aspect behind it too. Fact and case in point is I feel God knows we are going to masterbate. He build the old laws based on that knowledge, but He didn’t say it specifically is a sin. Imagine that. Also case is we all did it and we all do it in private I mean you mom and dad don’t spontaneously have sex in front of you. I mean come on some stuff is acceptable when it comes to sexual things and I mean God made us rational beings.
I am saying masterbation is not wrong, because God knew we what we are I mean He knows everything and also He has shown us He choose us to be in a relationship even if we are sinners even if we tossed Him away and the Israelites done this numerous times. He knows we are imperfect beings. And it would only be fair enough if He guides us and also we have that sense of judging and interpretation and can decide upon the write actions.
I have watched porn yes. I could have avoided it too as I didn’t need it, but I was influenced by my nephew. I can say I freed myself from it. I didn’t ask God I just did it myself. He layed my path out this way and I give thanks for His freedom from it. And I thought long and hard about this before I posted read up about it. And also read articles from guys about talking to kids about sex as my dad didn’t really discuss this I read way too many books about the subject and also from a Christian point of view. They also said the intention behind the act is were it is judged if it is wrong or right.

Now, while the Bible doesn’t talk about masturbation, here is what it says (in the New Convenant):

This is important because this is how the Bible instructs us. For example, while it does not state, “Do not use the —- word, the ——word…” and so on, because who knows how many cuss words humans can come up with, instead it says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths…” Ephesians 4:29, wanting us to use our God given wisdom and not see how many cuss words were permitted, but to speak life giving words.
Note that Paul says, come together- emphasising that all sexual activity away from your spouse is a sin. -
Think about it- honestly- in your heart, do you think Jesus would have ever masturbated?
The idea is so disgusting we can’t even think it possible!

Sure disrespect is given if you use it against another person then it is bad, but if you stub your toe and say ouch @^## then it just slips and I believe it is a way to deal with the pain and anger. Or a guy tells a joke and the cuss was the punch line? What then? Still wrong? It is just impolite and morally and ethically wrong to cuss.
I mean if you cuss today you still pray, but don’t ask forgiveness for the cuss directly. Also if you cussed at someone as they did something wrong rather then forgiving them or blessing them that hate or words won’t be forgiven by God.
The thing I wanna point out is that it is a thing of life and still we can approach God in normal life. What I wanna point out is over doing it and what I mentioned as well in my first post I said the bible learns us self control. And to control oneself.

The other thing is if you look at a girl you commit adultery as well. You don’t know if she is a relationship. A lot of things to consider… To think about… I mean so much stuff happens in our society how are you going to know??
Like I said you would not publicly masterbate as it would make other people adulterers with you as they desire sex with you or have nasty thoughts. No you rather masterbate in private and nobody knows. What is the tip of it is when you take nudes or porn and desire them when you masterbate.
You can stil masterbate without these thoughts and also masterbation will save you too. Okay sure adlutery is in your thoughts but you can control yourself by not sleeping with every girl you meet. Theoretically just masterbate to abstain from random sex. Some self control is applied.

This is a big defilence towards God. We defile His creation and His vision for us. I judge gay as guys who can’t apply self-control and just do sexual acts out of lust and not love. This is also a form of adultery for me. Yet it was an old law and like all the other verses it is a guide on how to live our lives. And in the old laws gays were killed. People who did bestial sex( sex with animals) were killed.
These where laws. And it is ment to say doing that with your dog ain’t what God ment to happen. Obviously and also it is just sick. And sexual desire is big this must say enough what was going on in the times.
I mean as I said we cuss and we still worship and the bible mentions this too. It does ask why and that the tongue is hard to control. Yet, it isn’t deemed as a sin. This merely guides us in how we use our words wisely.
And with all this God as I mentioned over and over again knows we are imperfect. And I did say if masterbation becomes more important than God so you rather masterbate 10 times then to go to church, or masterbate instead of reading the bible or pray. Then it is wrong. But I don’t see why it is wrong to do it in private and yet I still can clean myself and still pray to God.
It is how you fuel your fire. Like the story of 2 wolves if you feed the bad, bad stuff will run in your deeds. If you feed the good, good stuff will run in your deeds.

Yet if you go to war and you kill are you still wrong?
I mean look at the wars Israelites have done. Over and over in the promised lands. Chasing the Ammorites from their land. The Philippines constant pain for them. And time after time they were invaded and time after time freed due to a war from a leader rising. Look at the book of Judges. Simson how cruel he murderd those people yet God favoured him.
Yet God was on his side and gave him strength. Murder which is wrong is justified here. How do you explain that?
Also promises. God advise us on not making promises or oaths. Especially to swear on His name. If we can’t keep our word we will get punished. Yet we do this. So if you masterbate what do you do promise not to do it again? What happens you fail and just remake the promise and this carries on. So it is tangling you up more and more as you brake a commandment to not lay false testament.
Again another intention behind it. Again a sin. If God knew I would do it and say it makes me unclean and not a sinner then it wouldn’t make sense as well why it is wrong to masterbate. I don’t make it important than God, even so I ain’t married so I don’t disgrace my spouse yet, as well as I don’t flaunt my act before anyone nor desire anyone to have the pleasure with. Just myself and as well I controlled myself not to fall to porn again and well don’t do it as often as I have done in the past. I am mere human yes I have flaws that’s why I ain’ on day 333 give or take. If I started in Jan. Or a year exactly since I started in Last year on this day exactly.
As I said this is a mere guidence towards pur deeds and acts and like I said we can judge our acts in accordance towards the bible. As I said with the cussing ethically we know it is impolite to cuss, but do it anyways. The bible could be like your parents here teaching you manners directly said if you will. Brother, your standard of a Christian is very low. Considering that Christian means a follower of Christ, if you think masturbating and cussing are all okay, then I can only ask God to show you.
Cussing is wrong brother, there is no 50/50 sin. Sin is missing the mark, whether by an inch or a mile. I have only cussed once in my life and even though it was 8 years ago I still regret how it affects my Christian witness. Does cussing without any self control make us any different from the non-Christians?
Your example on the use of God’s name is not a logical ( I think if you read it again, you would get it). Taking God’s name in vain is wrong. There is no possible way thanking God is taking his name in vain. Read up what it makes to take God’s name in vain please.
Finally, here is one case where intent matters. Till now, you have not mentioned any example. Cussing never can have the right intent. Neither can masturbation. Anger can have a righteous intent, but since we can almost never control it, the Bible reminds us to refrain from anger.
It makes you unclean, not sin. There’s a difference.

I read what I said on the use of God’s name and thanking Him **Ain’t ** wrong. I used these two examples next to each other the one of omg =wrong. Thank God= right. This is a 50- 50 sin. Still behind the intent and contexts of the use.
You say with sex we are unclean so with semen expulsion your a sinner then? … What is the difference then? If u get semen out your penis your unclean. Not a sinner. So if you masterbate you are unclean not a sinner then. It ain’t wrong then. After your masterbation cycle you expel semen. This is an indirect link not a direct link towards masterbation . Logically and I did say it.
As well as I said the bible guides us to be mannered towards other people. Like i said we must apply self-control. 3rd time I say this too.

The way I think is if Jesus did masterbate, He did it so nobody knew He did it. I mean He went through the same human cycle we did we don’t know much of Him physically and He was a teenager like us yes with a Godly aspect for He is God. Much of his life on earth is unknown we don’t know if he smoked or drinked. We can’t say if He did or didn’t do this either. I mean drinking one glass of wine is okay, but getting drunk is wrong.
Why do we drink wine then at Communion and not like a grape juice or a pure liquid like water? Yes I know Jesus gave us the wine cup, but he could have given a cup of water. Another 50-50 sin. I drink wine to celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ. A sip not a bottle tho. If the bottle then it is wrong. I wasn’t Jesus and I wasn’t of that time to say if He did do it or not.
The thing with masterbation it is different to cussing. Cussing is ethically and morally wrong I do agree, but I don’t sin unless I curse God or anyone else. And like I said the bible is guiding us to use our words right not to swear to everyone left and right and fight with anger. End of the day I cuss and can be forgiven and try to live my life different.
But masterbation it is part of me a need with in to have sex. I don’t break a commandment to have sex with every girl I see. And if I look at any girl don’t I then commit adultery? I wouldn’t know if she is in a relationship if she doesn’t wear a ring. Also wouldn’t either if she was alone at a place or out with friends. If I masterbate then privately to avoid falling for the girl or sleeping with her is that also wrong? I mean I am controlling myself not to get the girl and not sin. Surely some control is applied. Yes it is lustful, but beating the temptation for sex with the girl has been done. I Still follow the commandment of God.
He died for us as believers not for every sinner otherwise I could have done everything in this world and still go to heaven. In fact all of us if He loved the sinner will be in heaven or will be rewarded eternal life.
