[22M] RICHARD21's Journey of Self reflection and Discipline

I intended to start this Diary long back, but couldn’t. It’s all because of being a victim of Perfectionism. I postponed it many times, so that i could write a perfect introduction for this diary. I have lately realized that, perfectionism is a BIGGEST TRAP, one can ever fall into and that i need to work on it and become an ACTION TAKER.

GET INTO ACTION, THROW off the BS, AND SEE yourself Progressing forward.

As my Diary’s name implies, my purpose of creating this diary is to reflect daily through the way i accomplish various tasks and how i achieve my daily goals. I identify myself as a Pro procastinator and my dopamine receptors are very much dependent on Social media and YouTube’s Self development stuffs. Though, it has helped me to an extent in learning relationship dynamics, i am still struggling with other aspects of my life, like Studies, time management.

I am still in the reboot phase of PMO, but have seen significant improvements in how i deal with urges and CHASER EFFECT. Currently i am on an ARTIFICIAL STIMULI DETOX, and determined to completely rewire myself from old neural pathways and Porn. Thus, i have decided to make myself accountable to my fellow members in doing few daily activities/tasks/goals.

I would love to receive your support and encouragement throughout this journey of mine.

On an overall, Yesterday i had a great morning, being mindful and doing breathing exercise etc.

But during studies, i lacked focus and got distracted many times and tempted to check social media for few minutes, need to use initial disciplinary tools like App blacklist and blockers during study sessions and im also thinking of using a Distraction Journal to write my thoughts whenever i get sidetracked while studying, this will help me in staying focused.

Bed time is still a WORK IN PROGRESS, as im still trying various sleep hours, im still deprived of around 2 hrs from my ideal sleep requirement. Thus, i should make some modifications onto it.

I feel you 100% man, I’m tired of fooling myself once and for all. Number one for me is to stay consistent, no matter what in life if you are consistent you will open new doors and achieve levels you never attained. I sincerely believe that. I’m tired of distracting myself with poison that is social media, porn, etc which keeps me up at night, takes away from my other aspects of life, and overall gives a feeling like I’m always behind and playing catch up. Sooner or later I’ll burn out even though I persevere. I’m just making life much harder than it needs to be and it’s taking a toll. Much props to you for creating a journal and holding yourself accountable. Set yourself for success but just like you said there needs to be action, and without action there’s no progress and without consistency you will be stuck in a perpetual cycle of false hope and failure. @ResistTheUrge Im still struggling with it, man. I am currently a bit consistent in my sleep cycle and morning routine, but need to put a lot of work on Mid day, that’s where i fall for distractions and procrastination.

I have some tools to help myself with, thinking of keeping a different kind of journal where i measure my productivity and where i go wrong. Need to do a lot of trial and error.

My Efforts for Self improvement for today

  1. Started washing hands and feet before sleep for improving sleep quality

  2. Have set up Social Media detox during study hours from morning to evening, in order to be free from distractions
