Tomorrow??

REPEAT AND CONQUER THAT MEDIOCRE MF!!!

Alexander and Caesar and Pompey (Kings). Compared with Diogenes, Heraclitus and Socrates? (Philosophers). The philosophers knew the what, the why, the how. Their minds were their own.
The others? NOTHING BUT ANXIETY AND ENSLAVEMENT

On a lighter note, of course Marcus would play safe and say this :joy: he was both an emperor like Caesar and a philosopher like Socrates so he’s all safe :joy:

Hey, you are the real king of nofap brother @josephvt . Most of us are nothing compared to you. You are the nofap god. No doubt in that. I salute you and I am extremely proud to be your real friend my man. Your streak is now 400+ or something; you don’t even care about it. A real role model; extreme respect and love man.
Yes bro @debellator but he was a very self critical man. He was more into philosophy than being an emperor. I think philosophy gave his soul real light. Whichever page I look at in that book I see extremely profound and deep words about life. Each and every word a 50+ year old man wrote 18 centuries ago rings true and is even more relevant in this age, brother @The_integrous_one
See these words from Book 11 for example:

“To live a good life:
We have the potential for it. If we can learn to be indifferent to what makes no difference. This is how we learn: by looking at each thing, both the parts and the whole. Keeping in mind that none of them can dictate how we perceive it. They don’t impose themselves on us. They hover before us, unmoving. It is we who generate the judgments—inscribing them on ourselves. And we don’t have to. We could leave the page blank—and if a mark slips through, erase it instantly.
Remember how brief is the attentiveness required. And then our lives will end.
And why is it so hard when things go against you? If it’s imposed by nature, accept it gladly and stop fighting it. And if not, work out what your own nature requires, and aim at that, even if it brings you no glory.

None of us is forbidden to pursue our own good.”

These words can be considered as the basis of many of the branches of modern psychology. Logotherapy for example. Whatever happening in the outside- an accident, low marks, addiction whatever, they can never conquer our mind or our attitude towards it unless and until we consciously allow. You can always tell yourself- up here, my mind this is unconquerable by anything external. It is my own 100% and whatever the fuck happens in the outside, they have no control over it. Also remember death, and you are all good and perfect to enter the battle of life.
Marcus the man!

As someone who has read hundreds of them, I suggest all our brothers to stop reading self help crappy books and start reading real, profound and time tested works like Meditations by Marcus Auricles or Letters of Seneca or Homo Sapiens by Yuval Noah etc. These books have depth and substance but 95% of those self help shit is toxic, addictive and totally worthless.

And what baffles me more is that he wrote all of it as notes for himself and only himself without even thinking they would reach so many people (or atleast this is what I know, correct me if I am wrong )

I am reading the daily stoic for now, really grateful that you suggested that book to everyone and even more grateful that I actually purchased it and started reading, I just read one lesson (1 page) per day and really ponder upon the lessons and it is totally worth reading.

Accepted Brother @_TIGER

Iam going to sleep now itself. Work hard and claim your greatness in this world. Waste your time? Be ready to be replaced and live the rest of your life as a mediocre weakass piece of shit!
WWE-Raw-Roman-Reigns-accepts-Drew-McIntyres-challenge

Do add Gayatri mantra as well bro @_TIGER . Study the meaning of all the words of it and say it atleast 20 times per day. Throughout my life I have been addicted to affirmations and I have used 100s of them but GAYATRI MANTRA is a life changer bro. Each time you complete it you will feel like a new person. Your mind will be extremely calm, happy and you brain will also function with 10x power if you do it authentically and sincerely.

Mitahara is moderation in food. All the most important texts of yoga says that mitahara, Mindful eating etc are the most important step to succeed in spiritual life. If you want to be a brahmachari first thing you should control is food eating habits. Whatever you do, if food eating habit is not under your control you are below bottom in spiritual and celibacy advancement

“The first step: Don’t be anxious. Nature controls it all. And before long you’ll be no one, nowhere—like Hadrian, like Augustus.
The second step: Concentrate on what you have to do. Fix your eyes on it. Remind yourself that your task is to be a good human being; remind yourself what nature demands of people. Then do it, without hesitation, and speak the truth as you see it. But with kindness. With humility. Without hypocrisy.”

― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Hey brother @_TIGER , this is the 5 mins guided meditation on death that I do. I GAURANTEE YOU BRO, IF YOU DO THIS EVERYDAY YOUR LIFE WON’T BE THE SAME. Your happiness will increase a lot, your gratitude for being alive, for everything will be extremely high; also your urgency will also increase as you do this we will realise the truth about impermanence and shortness of life. So we have no time to waste; not even a second. Raushan bro suggested this to me. At first you will feel anxiety and you may even cry but it is good. Stoics practice this; in Buddhism this a must

It’s better to read philosophy by philosopher who was successful in real life. It shows that philosophy worked for that person. Otherwise there are lot of philosophy out there. This suggestion I got to know by Nassim Nicholos Taleb.

Seneca was also one of the richest person in his capital.
